RESUMO
Se realizó un estudio prospectivo, descriptivo y comparativo a todas las personas que acudieron a la consulta de transmisión sexual por presentar condilomas acuminados de enero a junio del 2000, en la Policlínica 28 de Septiembre de Vázquez. Se confeccionó una encuesta solicitando edad, estado civil, sexo, protección con el condón y conocimiento de la existencia de la enfermedad. Realizándose un examen físico minucioso de piel y mucosa, para confirmar el diagnóstico. Coincidiendo el grupo de 15 a 29 años con el mayor número de infectados (64,5 por ciento) y el sexo femenino fue el más afectado con 18 pacientes. Se detecto que el 74,2 por ciento de los casos se protegió en algún momento con el preservativo y el 83,9 por ciento conocían de la existencia de esa afección. Para concluir se confirmó que la eliminación de las verrugas venéreas es mucho más rápida con la aplicación del ácido tricloroacético al 80 por ciento a razón de dos curas semanales que con podofilina al 25 por ciento con igual aplicación(AU)
A prospective, descriptive and comparative study was done to all the people who came to the sexually transmitted diseases for presenting condylomata acuminata from January to June, 2000 in 28 de Septiembre Policlinical in Vázquez. A survey was carried out taking into account age, sex, marital status, the use of the condom and knowledge about this disease. By means of a deep physical examination in the skin and mocous membrane to confirm the diagnosis we realized that the 15 - 29 years group had the larger amount of patients (64,5 per cent) and the female sexwas the most affected with 18 patients. The 74,2 per cent of the cases sometimes used the condom and the 83,9 per cent knew the existence of this disease. It was demonstrated that the elimination of the warts is much faster with the used of trichloacetic acid at 80 per cent twice a week than with podophyllum at 25 per cent (AU)
