RESUMO

The authors report two cases of colonic intussusception in the adult protruding from the anus--or colon-anal intussusception--, not due to a tumor. The first case was a chronic ileo-caeco-colique intussusception, the second case was an acute colo-rectal intussusception. Colo-anal intussusceptions are very rare: less than twenty cases have been described since 1925 in adults. The absence of a tumor origin in our cases represents a special feature, as only three other similar cases have been described. The surgical treatment in both cases was primary colonic resection without colostomy. The surgical treatment of the first case was subtotal colectomy with ileo-rectal anastomosis. The second case was primarily reduced by barium enema which allowed optimal secondary surgical resection of a prepared colon.

RESUMO

The authors report a series of 128 inguinal hernias operated by a mid line extra peritoneal incision with using Dacron Tulle material, and with a 3 years minimal follow up. The spetical risk in this series is about 0.78 percent. Not any prothesis had be removed. Relapse level was about 3.9 percent at 3 years. More of them, occur during the first year at our experience starting period. We can improve this number into less than 1 percent with experimented surgeons. The mid line way in the case of multirelapsing hernias allows an easier cleaving of the subparietal spaces, and putting in place prothesis largely over-stepping weakness zone.

RESUMO

The authors describe two cases of non parasitic cyst of the spleen of "enteroid" origin on histological examination. No similar cases have yet seen described in the medical literature that we consulted. The histology of these two cases is quite unusual in that cysts are multilocular and mucoid with a cylindrical mucus secreting epithelium similar to cystic tumours of the ovary. The outcome of the first case remains favorable four years after surgery. As in the case of mucoid or enteroid cyst of the ovary, a disembryological origin seems the most likely explanation of these cyst of the spleen.

RESUMO

Correlations between anatomic and clinical findings were absent in a series of 214 cases of acute cholecystitis, and there was a high percentage of severe forms (58 p. 100). Early operation (between 48 and 72 hours) is therefore the most logical treatment and demonstrates comparable morbidity and mortality, if not lower figures, than with delayed surgery. Diagnosis can usually be made on clinical grounds and results of ultra-sound imaging and allows surgery to be performed after intensive care and preoperative antibiotic therapy. Total surgery with perioperative cholangiography is usually possible (95 p. 100 cases).
