OBJECTIVES: Portal sites have become places to share queries about performing nursing and obtain expert know-how. This study aimed to analyze topics of interest in the field of infusion nursing among nurses working in clinical settings. METHODS: In total, 169 user query data were collected from October 5, 2018 to December 25, 2021. This exploratory study analyzed the semantic structure of posts on the nurse question-and-answer board of an infusion nursing-related internet portal by extracting major keywords through text data analysis and conducting term frequency (TF) and term frequency-inverse document frequency (TF-IDF) analysis, N-gram analysis, and CONvergence of iteration CORrelation (CONCOR) analysis. Word cloud visualization was conducted utilizing the "wordcloud" package of Python to provide a visually engaging and concise summary of information about the extracted terms. RESULTS: "Infusion" was the most frequent keyword and the highest-importance word. "Infusion→line" had the strongest association, followed by "vein→catheter," "line→change," and "peripheral→vein." Three topics were identified: the replacement of catheters, maintenance of the patency of the catheters, and securement of peripheral intravenous catheters, and the subtopics were blood sampling through central venous catheter, peripherally inserted central catheter management, evidence-based infusion nursing, and pediatric infusion nursing. CONCLUSIONS: These findings indicate that nurses have various inquiries in infusion nursing. It is necessary to re-establish the duties and roles of infusion nurses, and to develop effective infusion nursing training programs.

RESUMO

BCAT1 (branched-chain amino acid trasaminase1) expression is necessary for the progression of IDH1 wild-type (WT) glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), which is known to be associated with aggressive tumors. The purpose of our study is to investigate the bevacizumab resistance increased by the expression of BCAT1 in IDH1 WT GBM in a rat model, which was evaluated using DSC perfusion MRI. BCAT1 sh#1 inhibits cell proliferation and limits cell migration potential in vitro. In vivo MRI showed that the increase in both tumor volume and nCBV after bevacizumab treatment in IDH1 WT tumors was significantly higher compared with BCAT1 sh#1tumors. In a histological analysis, more micro-vessel reformation by bevacizumab resistance was observed in IDH1 WT tumors than BCAT1 sh#1 tumors. These findings indicate that BCAT1 expression in IDH1 WT GBM increases resistance to bevacizumab treatment, which could be assessed by DSC perfusion MRI, and that nCBV can be a surrogate imaging biomarker for the prediction of antiangiogenic treatment in GBM.

BACKGROUND: Dictamnus dasycarpus is widely used as a traditional remedy for the treatment of eczema, rheumatism, and other inflammatory diseases in Asia. The current study investigates the molecular mechanism of anti-inflammatory action of the ethanol extract of Dictamnus dasycarpus leaf (DE) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. METHODS: Nitric oxide (NO) production was assessed by Griess reaction and the mRNA and protein expressions of pro inflammatory cytokines, transcription factor, and enzymes were determined by real-time RT-PCR and immunoblotting analysis. RESULTS: DE (0.5 and 1 mg/mL) suppressed the NO production by 10 and 33%, respectively, compared to the untreated group in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. DE (0.5 and 1 mg/mL) reduced the mRNA expression of key transcription factor nuclear factor-κB by 7 and 24%, respectively compared to the untreated group in LPS activated macrophage. The pro inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor α and interleukin 1ß were also decreased by DE treatment. Moreover, the protein expression of pro inflammatory enzymes, inducible nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase 2 were also dramatically attenuated by DE in a dose dependent manner. CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that Dictamnus dasycarpus leaf has a potent anti-inflammatory activity and can be used for the development of new anti-inflammatory agents.
