RESUMO

This article presents a performance investigation of a fault detection approach for bearings using different chaotic features with fractional order, where the five different chaotic features and three combinations are clearly described, and the detection achievement is organized. In the architecture of the method, a fractional order chaotic system is first applied to produce a chaotic map of the original vibration signal in the chaotic domain, where small changes in the signal with different bearing statuses might be present; then, a 3D feature map can be obtained. Second, five different features, combination methods, and corresponding extraction functions are introduced. In the third action, the correlation functions of extension theory used to construct the classical domain and joint fields are applied to further define the ranges belonging to different bearing statuses. Finally, testing data are fed into the detection system to verify the performance. The experimental results show that the proposed different chaotic features perform well in the detection of bearings with 7 and 21 mil diameters, and an average accuracy rate of 94.4% was achieved in all cases.

Wogonin, one of the exceptional bioactive flavonoids found abundant in the roots of Huang-Qin (Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi), is a popular health-preserving Chinese medicine. The therapeutic applications can be expanded by improving its bioavailability. The 7-O-terpenylated wogonin consisting one to three prenyl units are chemically synthesized for increasing lipophilic nature for efficient uptake, and also an attempt in mimicry of naturally scarce terpenylated flavonoids found in limited plant families and bee propolis. Wogonin (W) and its lipophilic nature prenyl wogonin (W5), geranyl wogonin (W10), and farnesyl wogonin (W15) were comparatively studied with structure-relationship in immunotoxicity of cell livability on lymphoid, myeloid, and somatic origins cell lines. Anti-inflammatory functions characterized with nitric oxide inhibition and intracellular ROS level of LPS-activated murine macrophage RAW264.7 were assessed. Wogonin and its terpenylated derivatives have selectively influenced livability of lymphoid origin cells but not myeloid and somatic origin cells. The mitotic protein survivin gene expressions analysis further supported the selective suppressions on lymphoid origin YAC-1 cells by wogonin and geranyl wogonin, while oppositely boosted survivin expressions in LPS-activated macrophages. Moreover, wogonin exhibits dose-dependent inhibition on the nitric oxide (NO) production and iNOS gene expressions of LPS-activated RAW264.7 cells. Terpenylated wogonin exhibits profoundly superior control in intracellular ROS level and a sustained action with sound cell integrity than the wogonin. The enhanced cellular uptake with higher lipophilicity to membrane of 7-O-terpenylated wogonin may pose an important biological nature in facilitating better bioavailability and specific immunomodulatory actions of the category of terpenylated flavonoids. The 7-O-terpenylated wogonin having biological merit of fast membrane lipid bilayer integration, lower effective concentration, and better preserving immune cells functions and livability deserved further in-depth investigations and their broadly therapeutic applications.

Gold nanoparticles (GNPs), which are generally thought to be bio-inert and non-cytotoxic, have become one of the most ideal nanomaterials for medical applications. Once engulfed by phagocytes, the immunological effects of GNPs are still of concern and require detailed investigation. Therefore, this study explored the immunological significance of GNPs on TLR-mediated innate immunity in murine macrophages. GNP causes specific inhibition of TLR9 (CpG oligodeoxynucleotides; CpG-ODNs) signal in macrophages. The impaired CpG-ODN-induced TNF-α production is GNP concentration- and size-dependent in murine Raw264.7 cells: a GNP of 4 nm in size is more potent than a GNP of 11, 19, 35, or 45 nm in size. Consistent with cytokine inhibition, the CpG-ODN-induced phosphorylation of NF-κB and JNK as well as NF-κB activation are suppressed by GNPs. GNPs accumulate in lysosomes after phagocytosis and also increase TLR9-associated lysosomal cathepsin expression and activities, but this is irrelevant to TLR9 inhibition by GNPs in our studies. In addition, GNPs affected TLR9 translocation in response to CpG-ODNs and to phagosomes. Further exploring how GNPs inhibited TLR9 function, we found that GNPs could bind to high-mobility group box-1 (which is involved in the regulation of TLR9 signaling) inside the lysosomes. The current studies demonstrate that size-dependent inhibition of TLR9 function by GNP may be attributed to its binding to high-mobility group box-1.

Toxicological and immunomodulatory activities of botryosphaeran (BR), a newly emerged ß-glucan that comprises a ß-(1 → 3) backbone and ß-(1 → 6) branched glucose residues were assessed. BR was 1.82 × 10(6) Da (M.W.) estimated by reversely-linear equation constructed by regression of logarithms of standard polysaccharides and their retention times of gel permeation chromatography. Sprague-Dawley rats were daily gavage-administered with BR at doses of 0, 1.25, 12.5, and 125 mg/kg body weight (BW) for 28 d. Serum hematological and biochemical analysis of all treatment were all within normal ranges. Mitogen-stimulated lymphoblastogenesis of spleno-lymphocytes was enhanced by BR at doses of 1.25 and 12.5 mg/kg BW. Through in vitro comparative assessments, RAW 264.7 macrophage (RAW) cells were treated with BR and two commercial ß-glucans, zymosan (ZY) and barley ß-glucan (GB), to characterize their relative immunomodulatory properties. All three ß-glucans stimulated phagocytosis on fluorescence-labeled Escherichia coli. At dose levels from 5 to 200 µg/mL for 24h, nitric oxide produced by BR- and ZY-treated cells were higher than those produced by GB-treated and control groups. BR, ZY but GB also stimulated RAW cells in producing TNF-α. The results demonstrate that BR is toxicologically accepted and features as a potent immunomodulator.
