[Clinical, functional and biochemical characteristics of arterial hypertension in military men under chronic stress].

Peculiarities of military occupational activities are repeated stress and high degree of psychoemotional strain. The article deals with results of momentary study covering a select from military men cohort, with thyroid tests, renal functional tests, diurnal monitoring of blood pressure and psychologic state assessment. Course of arterial hypertension in military men subjected to chronic stress presents prevailing systolic-diastolic and diastolic variants with excessive decrease of blood pressure at night, with high values of albuminuria. Psychologic state of the military men examined, whe were subjects to chronic stress, was mostly mixed reactivity type with general overstrain and somatization of inner conflict (psychosomatic variant of dysadaptation). The authors demonstrated close correlation between intrinsic emotional strain degree with arterial hypertension type according to "hyper-dipper" variant and free T3 level.

[Neurotransplantation in the treatment of Parkinson disease: follow-up]. / Neirotransplantatsiia v lechenii bolezni Parkinsona (katamnez).

The paper presents the results of follow-up of 11 patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) after neurotransplantation (NT) of fetal brain dopaminergic suspension into the caudatus and putamen on one or two sides. All the patients were clinically assessed at least 3 months before and during a follow-up (for as long as 9 years) in accordance with the Core Assessment Program for Intracranial Transplantation (CAPIT) by a Russian group of the Network of European CNS Transplantation and Restoration (NECTAR) Programme by using the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (URDRS). An analysis of clinical findings showed that: 1) there was a slight amelioration in bradykinesia, rigidity, and smaller dosage of L-DOPA; 2) tremor and drug-induced dyskinesia remained unchanged; 3) subsequently (till 9 years), the clinical effect slightly decreased in almost all patients with PD and in some of them the clinical status became worse than that prior to surgery; 4) repeated NT (2 cases) in the striatum contralaterally did not improved the situation; 5) only neurostimulation of subcortical structures improved clinical results. So we can conclude that NT alone cannot be beneficial and requires additional interventions at the subcortical level.

[A commercial immunoenzyme reagent for the determination of ceruloplasmin]. / Kommercheskii immunofermentnyi diagnostikum dlia opredeleniia tseruloplazmina.

A diagnostic agent for enzyme immunoassay of ceruloplasmin has been developed. The method is highly sensitive and specific. The minimal detectable amount of ceruloplasmin is 25 ng/ml, variance coefficients with 1 lot being 2.6-7.3 percent and 4.2-10.8 percent within 3 lots. Blood serum ceruloplasmin concentration in health has made up 0.9 to 1.3 mg/ml. Ceruloplasmin levels were regularly shifted in Wilson's disease, cerebral lymphomas, sepsis, injuries, liver cirrhosis and other diseases.
