RESUMO

A case of recurrent emphysematous cystitis in a 44-year-old male diabetic is described. Treatment of the first episode had been effective and demonstrable radiologically. A recurrent episode of cystitis disclosed a neurogenic bladder, which had not been detected previously. The literature on the pathogenesis of this entity is briefly reviewed.

RESUMO

Herein we describe a case of a hemorrhagic adrenal pseudocyst that had been initially suspected as being a renal adenocarcinoma. The intraoperative anatomopathological study of the specimen permitted performing conservative surgery. The diagnosis and pathogenesis of this uncommon disease entity are discussed.

RESUMO

The paper describes an unusual angiographic pattern within the context of stenosis of the pyeloureteral union and giant hydronephrosis of the adult, with a presumed congenital origin. From the embryonic point of view we discuss the remote possibility of this being a real "agenesis" of the renal artery with no agenesis of the kidney, irrigated by multiple segmental arteries following the characteristic metamerism of the mesonephros. On the other hand, it seems more consistent to explain such vascular pattern as an image of severe atrophy, in correlation with the hydronephrosis advanced stage, and not as a primary congenital defect. However, the interaction of both factors (congenital-malformative and acquired-involutive) could be more overlapped than what initially appears to be.

RESUMO

A case of extraarticular temporomandibular ankylosis due to progressive ossifying myositis is reported. The local pathology appeared 13 years after the initial generalized symptomatic onset. CT scan helps to the diagnosis. Despite surgical therapy, the pathology reappears so we conclude to the unique efficiency of medical therapy: corticosteroids by pulse therapy. A review of the literature on the subject was made. A discussion ends the publication.
