[Hygienic forecasting and toxicologic evaluation of potential danger caused by new sulphenamide vulcanization accelerators].

The article covers forecasting work conditions in oncoming production of sulphenamides T and DC--vulcanization accelerators, specifies leading occupational hazards, justifies values of MAC for sulphenamide T and approximate safe levels of action for sulphenamide DC in air of workplace.

[Ecologo-hygienic evaluation of the use of petroleum-refining waste for road construction in the lower Volga region]. / Ekologo-gigienicheskaia otsenka ispol'zovaniia otkhodov neftpererobotki (nefteshlamov) dlia dorozhnogo stroitel'stva v usloviiakh nizhnego povolzh'ia.

A scheme has been developed for sanitary assessment of the safety of road building materials containing oil slurry waste. It includes 2 units: 1) sanitary and chemical studies and 2) ecological and toxicological ones. The sanitary and chemical unit consists of a preliminary stage, wherein priority waste-specific substances are selected, and two experimental studies air- and water migration ones that evaluate the environmental effects of the substances selected. The ecological and toxicological unit includes microbiological, phytotoxic, hydrobiological, and toxicological studies. This scheme of ecological and sanitary studies of road building composite materials containing oil slurry waste allows their ecological and toxicological safety to be comprehensively evaluated.

[Neurologic disorders in myeloma disease]. / Nevrologicheskie narusheniia pri mielomnoi bolezni.

A comprehensive examination involving the use of electroencephalography (EEG), rheoencephalography of the main vessels of the head (REG) and vessels of the limbs, electromyography with the application of neurohistological investigation was conducted in 120 myeloma patients. Neurological disorders systematized into syndromes of encephalopathy, local spondylalgia, radiculalgia, myelopathy, meningomyelopolyradicular and encephalomyelopolyradiculoneuropathic syndromes were observed in 91.7% of the cases. The leading role in the pathogenesis of neurological disturbances was played by toxico-dyscirculatory disorders secondary to infiltration of vessel walls by plasmatic cells, dysproteinosis, kidney failure, as well as mechanical impact of the deformed vertebral column on the spinal cord, its radices and vessels. Modern medicated correction of neurological disturbances is considered necessary in myeloma.
