[Symptomatology and therapy of atypical perforations of gastrointestinal ulcers]. / Zur Symptomatik und Therapie der atypischen Perforation von Gastroduodenalulzera.

Starting from three patients, we observed the last three years, we discuss the pathogenesy and the symptomatology of different kinds of perforated gastroduodenal ulcers. We present a classification of these different kinds of adequate to the anatomical and pathological aspects and demonstrate the essential characteristics. We conclude with some aspects of nonsurgical treatment, which is possible in some few cases.

No unambiguous elucidation has yet been achieved regarding aetiology and pathogenesis of gestational pancreatitis. Impairment of blood circulation seems to play a major pathogenetic role. The problem is discussed, with reference being made to one case each of hyperlipidaemia and severe hypertensive late gestosis.

Energy-dependent losses of high-power laser radiation in liquid nitrogen.

We observed energy-dependent losses in the transmission of high-power CO(2) and HF laser radiation in liquid nitrogen resulting from scattering on small gas bubbles. The formation of these bubbles can be explained by a mechanism involving absorption of a small part of the laser radiation by microscopic suspended ice particles that leads to the evaporation of the surrounding cryogenic liquid. Even for a low concentration of these particles, the losses are significant.
