RESUMO

In addressing the detection of drug resistance in Helicobacter pylori, we have successfully developed an efficient and highly accurate detection methodology. Initially, we designed and fabricated a microarray chip, which underwent finite element analysis for its optical and thermal characteristics. Ultimately, COC material was chosen as the processing material for the chip, ensuring superior performance. Subsequently, we established a comprehensive detection system and validated its performance. Following that, comparative experiments were conducted for detecting drug resistance in H. pylori. The experimental results indicate that our established methodology aligns with the results obtained using the E-test detection kit, achieving a concordance rate of 100%. In comparison to the E-test detection kit, our methodology reduces the detection time to 1.5 h and provides a more extensive coverage of detection sites.

RESUMO

Infectious disease outbreaks transcend the medical and public health realms, triggering widespread panic and impeding socio-economic development. Considering that self-limiting diarrhoea of sporadic cases is usually underreported, the Salmonella outbreak (SO) study offers a unique opportunity for source tracing, spatiotemporal correlation, and outbreak prediction. To summarize the pattern of SO and estimate observational epidemiological indicators, 1,134 qualitative reports screened from 1949 to 2023 were included in the systematic review dataset, which contained a 506-study meta-analysis dataset. In addition to the dataset comprising over 50 columns with a total of 46,494 entries eligible for inclusion in systematic reviews or input into prediction models, we also provide initial literature collection datasets and datasets containing socio-economic and climate information for relevant regions. This study has a broad impact on advancing knowledge regarding epidemic trends and prevention priorities in diverse salmonellosis outbreaks and guiding rational policy-making or predictive modeling to mitigate the infringement upon the right to life imposed by significant epidemics.

RESUMO

The predictability of Watson-Crick base pairing provides unique structural programmability to DNA, facilitating the development and application of biomolecules in biocomputing. However, in DNA-based biocomputing, the scale of operation that can be achieved by an existing reaction system is very limited. How to expand the operation range of a logic circuit and realize the integration and extensibility of circuits is always the key problem to be solved in this field. In this work, by designing a multifunctional DNA-nanostructure-based reaction platform, which can realize an output of up to 2n scalable fluorescence signals, combined with the construction of an input "library" and a modular distribution strategy of output signals, for the first time, we successfully performed the calculation of both square roots and cube roots of consecutive integers within a decimal number of "10" and in each result of the operation, two digits after the decimal point are preserved (). We believe that the design concept presented in this work can help effectively solve the urgent problems of biological computing in terms of computational scaling, integration and scalability, and can open up new horizons for the design of new functional devices and complex computing circuits.

RESUMO

To date, "metal-free" catalysts originating from graphene and CNTs have been revealed to contain metal impurities. Many types of such "metal-free" carbons have been synthesized by metal-involving methods, and it is urgent to confirm the origin of the catalytic performance. Herein, we verified that residual metals were inevitably present in these N-doped carbons and the catalytic performance for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) was due to the remaining metals, present at only a ppm level.
