RESUMO

Purpose To study the spiral CT (SCT) appearances of pleural plaques,to improve the accuracy of diagnosis and differential diagnosis, and to evaluate clinic application.Materials and Methods The SCT appearances in 42 cases with pleural plaques were analysed retrospectively, which closed met with asbestos dust. Results SCT showed 407 pleural plaques in 42 cases,of which there were hyline / uncalcified pleural plaques (n=250),calcified pleural plaques(n= 36),mixed pleural plaques(n=121);unilateral pleural plaques (n=10),bilateral pleural plaques (n=32);single pleural plaque in 5 cases, multiple pleural plaques in 37 cases. The largest pleural plaque was 4.2cm×1.2cm.There were a lot of shapes of the pleural plaques.Various shapes of calcifications could be showed in the calcified or mixed type pleural plaques. The pleural plaques distributed in the middle-inferior part, anterior / posterior-lateral chest wall, underlying the ribs in 28 cases (66.6 %),both bilateral domes of diaphragm in 10 cases and mediastinal pericardium in 4 cases. The pleural plaques associated with pulmonary intertitial fibrosis in 4 cases. No cases in the apices / costophrenic angles. No enhancement of pleural plaques in 6 cases which were administrated contrast scan. Conclusion SCT can clearly show the distribution, extention, shape, size, density and relation to adjacent tissues of the pleural plaques, and with asbestos exposure history, can make a diagnosis and differential diagnosis from other pleural thickened lesions.SCT is the best choice of imaging methods for asbestosis and pleural plaque.

RESUMO

Objective To study the metabolic change of proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1 H-MRS)in the visual cortex and optic radiation region of patients with diabetic retinopathy (DR).Methods 1H-MRS was performed in 20 patients with DR and 20 healthy volunteers on GE 1.5 T MR system respectively.Metabolic peaks of N-acetylasparte(NAA),creatine(Cr,in 3.02 and 3.94 ppm),choline-containing compounds(Cho)and myo-inositol(mI)were observed, and the ratios were analyzed by each other.Independent-samples t test was performed between two sets of data. Results In both visual cortex and optic radiation, the ratios of ml/Cr and mI/CrSee in DR group(0.664 ± 0.052 and 1.453±0.068 in visual cortex,0.717±0.074 and 1.484±0.114 in optic radiation)were significant higher than those in normal group(0.602±0.047 and 1.249±0.044 in visual cortex,0.679 ± 0.075 and 1.334±0.089 in optic radiation,P<0.05).In DR group, the ratios of CrSec/Cr,Cho/Cr and NAA/Cr in visual cortex and optic radiation were 0.458±0.043 and 0.488±0.052,0.481±0.057 and 0.807±0.110,1.633±0.105 and 1.709±0.140 respectively. In control group.the ratios of those were 0.484±0.041 and0.502±0.056,0.471±0.065 and 0.786±0.109,1.625±0.098 and 1.716±0.135 respectively. The ratios of CrSec/Cr,Cho/Cr and NAA/Cr had no statistic difference between two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion mI/CrSec is a typical change in the visual cortex and optic radiation region,1H-MRS as a noninvasive examination could provide biochemical and metabolic informations for diabetic patients.

RESUMO

Objective To analyze the CT features and diagnostic valuation of endometriosis. Methods The CT features in 26 cases with endometriosis confirmed by operation and pathology were retrospectively studied. Results The endometriosis deposited in the overly (n=16),wall of bladder (n=2),uterus (n=5),and Vagina (n=3).On CT,the lesion could appear as a round or oval or irregular,Cystic or solid or mixed mass, with unclear margin, and certain adhesion to surrounding sssstructures. There were some small cysts within the mass.On enhanced CT,the cystic margin and solid part of the mass could be enhanced. Conclusion CT features with clinical information,it is possible to diagnosis endometriosis.

RESUMO

Objective To improve the recognization and the diagnostic accuracy of brachial cleft cyst (BCC) by CT scan. Methods CT findings of 10 BCC proved surgically and pathologically were retrospectively reviewed. Results BCC,CT number 22~33 Hu;with the enhanced wall and the non-enhanced cystic part. If infections exist, the margin would be obscure and the internal density be increased. These cysts commonly located in the anterior triangle area of the neck or along the anterior border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle. The first brachial cleft fistula was not displayed. Conclusion CT scan can not only clearly show the location, enhanced characters and the relationship to the adjacent tissues of the BCC,but also can be possible to make the diagnosis of the BCC,but not the brachial cleft fistula.

RESUMO

Objective To analyse the CT features of solitary bronchioalveolar carcinoma(SBAC) so that to improve the CT diagnostic accuracy. Methods CT findings of 39 cases with SBAC proved by operation and pathology were studied, and an analysis as compared with 48 cases other type of peripheral pulmonary carcinoma. Results CT findings included lobulations in 32,spiculation in 33,pleural tags in 25,bronchovascular bundles in 14,vacuole or/and bronchiologram in 18 and ground glass changs in 8 cases. Conclusion The characteristic CT manifestations of SBAC are:(1)Vacuole or/and bronchiologram;(2)Long spiculation;(3)Ground-glass.It is important to recognize the CT appearances of SBAC in order to improve diagnostic ability.

RESUMO

Objective:To evaluate the effect of HRCT in diagnosis of the sacroiliac joint of ankylosing spondylitis(AS).Methods:HRCT scanning of sacroiliac joints were performed in 86 adult patients with AS.CT findings were reviewed.Rank test was used for statistical analysis of the grade of sacroiliac joint changes in two groups based on course of disease and the sex of patients. Results:The CT findings of the sacroiliac joint changes in AS included erosion, arthrosclerosis, change of joint space, arthrokleisis, gas and soft tissue in articular cavity.Pathologic changes were more obvious with the course of disease prolonged (P0.01).In the group during the same course, pathologic changes were more marked in female patients than those in male ones(P0.01).Conclusion:HRCT can show tiny structures of sacroitiac joint clearly. This is beneficial to recognize different patologic changes and make correct diagnosis.
