RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the effects of loratadine tablets in combination with other drugs on nasal physiological function and T lymphocyte subsets in patients with allergic rhinitis (AR). Methods: A total of 120 AR patients treated in our hospital from February 2018 to February 2021 were randomly divided into control group and research group. The control group was given mometasone furoate nasal spray combined with loratadine tablets, while the research group was given budesonide combined with loratadine. The efficacy, duration of clinical symptom remission, immune function indicators, T lymphocyte subset, nasal physiological function, and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: The efficacy results of the two groups showed that the effective rate of the research group was 96.67%, while the effective rate of the control group was 83.33%. The effective rate in the research group was higher compared to the control group (χ 2: 5.925 P < 0.05). The results of clinical symptom relief time showed that the clinical symptom relief time of nasal congestion, itching, runny nose, and sneezing in the research group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The results of the comparison of immune function indicators showed that the IL-6, IL-8, and IgE of the research group were lower than those of the control group, while the Th1/Th2 of the research group were higher than those of the control group. There were no statistically significant differences in T lymphocyte subsets before nursing, but after treatment, the T lymphocyte subsets of the two groups decreased, and the level of CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, CD4+, and CD4+/CD8+ lymphocytes in the research group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Before treatment, there exhibited no significant difference in nasal physiological function, but after treatment, the nasal physiological function of the two groups was enhanced, and the MTT, NR, and MCR of the research group were lower than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Finally, the incidence of adverse reactions in the research group was lower compared to the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Budesonide and loratadine are effective in improving patient efficacy, T lymphocyte subsets, and nasal physiological function, and are safer.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Among the most prevalent allergic conditions that affect children is anaphylactic rhinitis (AR). It is capable of leading to physical as well as mental health issues. Concomitant use of loratadine and budesonide may improve symptoms of AR more than treatment with either drug alone. To assess the efficacy and safety of combined loratadine and budesonide for patients experiencing AR is the aim of this study. METHODS: We will apply 2 independent authors in six databases, including EMBASE, Pub Med, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, WanFang Database, Chinese Scientific Journal Database (VIP database). Studies evaluating the efficacy and safety of combined loratadine and budesonide in patients with AR will include studies published between inception and Dec 2021. Accordingly, the data will have to be in English and Chinese. For the selection of data extraction, the studies and risk of bias assessment will be completed by 2 independent authors. Accordingly, data synthesis will be conducted through RevMan 5.3 software. The study will establish heterogeneity using the I2 test. Without correct data or information, there is a need for Publication bias, which is assessed by performing the Begg and Egger test and generating a funnel plot. RESULTS: The study provides a trustable clinical foundation for loratadine and budesonide for AR treatment.OSF registration number: DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/M2RFGEthics and dissemination: Because the present study is founded on existing studies, it does not require ethics approval.

RESUMO

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) has a low five-year survival rate, and its pathogenesis remains unclear. There is an urgent need to improve our understanding of the genetic regulation of NPC tumorigenesis and development. The role of miR-26a-5p in NPC growth regulation and the expression of its target, PTGS2, was analyzed. Quantitative Real-time PCR assay was used to detect miR-26a-5p and PTGS2 expression in human NPC tissues and cell lines. The RNA pull-down dual-luciferase reporter assay was used to determine the association between miR-26a-5p and PTGS2. The effects of miR-26a-5p and PTGS2 on NPC cell viability, proliferation, migration, and invasion were measured by CCK-8, BrdU, and Transwell assays. miR-26a-5p expression in NPC tissues and cell lines was significantly decreased. The overexpression of miR-26a-5p inhibited the viability, proliferation, migration, and invasion of NPC cells. miR-26a-5p bound to the 3-'untranslated region of PTGS2, thus reducing PTGS2 protein levels. miR-26a-5p inhibited NPC development by reducing the expression of its target PTGS2.

RESUMO

MicroRNA-451a (miR-451a) has been implicated in the initiation and progression of multiple cancers. However, the regulatory mechanisms underlying its function in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) are poorly understood. Thus, we investigated in detail the role of the microRNA-451a/chromosome segregation 1-like (miR-45a/CSE1L) axis and its regulatory mechanism in NPC. We examined the levels of miR-451a and CSE1L in NPC, and assessed the effects of miR-451a and CSE1L on NPC by cell functional experiments. Furthermore, we elucidated the direct regulatory effect of miR-451a on CSE1L by the luciferase reporter assay, RNA pull-down assay, and RNA immunoprecipitation and validated our observations by calculating the Pearson's correlation coefficient. We found that miR-451a was down-regulated in NPC cells, and its over-expression attenuated cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, and tumor growth in 5-8 F and SUNE-1 cells and promoted apoptosis. Moreover, CSE1L was the direct gene target of miR-451a, and its over-expression abrogated miR-451a-dependent inhibition of malignancy in 5-8 F and SUNE-1 cells. The Pearson's correlation coefficient indicated a negative correlation between CSE1L and miR-451a. miR-451a serves as a tumor suppressor and targets CSE1L. miR-451a suppresses CSE1L expression, thereby reducing proliferation, invasion, and migration and increasing apoptosis of NPC cells.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Dysphagia is a commonly occurring condition in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients after radiotherapy. There has been an increasing number of studies focused on assessing the use of acupuncture to manage dysphagia. Moreover, the quality of the research has gradually increased. The present research will be conducted to systematically evaluate the efficiency and safety of using acupuncture to treat cases of dysphagia after radiation therapy in NPC patients. METHODS: Literature search will include all potential randomized controlled trials using MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, EMBASE, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese BioMedical Literature, and WanFang database from their inception to May, 2021 without language or publication status restrictions, to evaluate the efficiency and safety of using acupuncture to treat dysphagia cases following radiation therapy in NPC patients. A couple of independent authors will select related literature, extract data from studies, and estimate this risk in the bias of the selected study articles. In the instance of contrasting opinions, the outcome is mediated through discussion with a different independent author. The data synthesis and statistical analysis will be completed with the RevMan software (version 5.3). RESULTS: This study will evaluate the efficiency and safety of using acupuncture to treat dysphagia cases after radiation therapy in NPC patients. CONCLUSION: This study will determine the suitability of acupuncture as an effective and safe intervention for dysphagia in NPC patients after radiotherapy. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION: The present study does not need ethical approval. REGISTRATION NUMBER: May 19, 2021.osf.io/f2cvt. (https://osf.io/f2cvt/).

RESUMO

Although depression is a major problem affecting the physical and mental health of the occupational population worldwide, little research is available among bank employees. The purpose of the study was to examine the effects of occupational stress and work-family conflict on depressive symptoms and the mediating role of psychological capital (PsyCap). A cross-sectional study was performed from May to June in 2013 in Liaoning province, China. The effort-reward imbalance (ERB) scale, the work-family conflict scale, the PsyCap questionnaire and the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression scale were completed by 1546 employees in state-owned banks. A total of 1239 effective respondents (467 men and 772 women) became our subjects. Hierarchical regression analysis was carried out to explore the effects of extrinsic effort, reward, overcommitment, work-family conflict, and PsyCap on depressive symptoms. The mediating role of PsyCap was examined using Preacher and Hayes' asymptotic and resampling strategies. The mean score of depressive symptoms was 18.4 (SD = 7.6) among the Chinese bank employees. Extrinsic effort, overcommitment and work-family conflict were positively associated with depressive symptoms. Reward and PsyCap were negatively associated with depressive symptoms. The significant mediating roles of PsyCap in the associations of extrinsic effort (a*b = 0.046, BCa 95% CI: 0.029, 0.066) and reward (a*b = -0.047, BCa 95% CI: -0.065, -0.030) with depressive symptoms were revealed. There is a high level of depressive symptoms among Chinese bank employees. PsyCap partially mediates the effects of extrinsic effort and reward on depressive symptoms. Investing in PsyCap may provide new approaches to improve mental health among Chinese bank employees.

RESUMO

Although job burnout is common among bank employees, few studies have explored positive resources for combating burnout in this population. This study aims to explore the relationship between occupational stress and job burnout among Chinese bank employees, and particularly the mediating role of psychological capital. A cross-sectional study was conducted in Liaoning, China, during June to August of 2013. A questionnaire that included the effort-reward imbalance scale, the Psychological Capital Questionnaire and the Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey, as well as demographic and working factors, was distributed to 1739 employees of state-owned banks. This yielded 1239 effective respondents (467 men, 772 women). Asymptotic and resampling strategies explored the mediating role of psychological capital in the relationship between occupational stress and job burnout. Both extrinsic effort and overcommitment were positively associated with emotional exhaustion and depersonalisation. Meanwhile, reward was negatively associated with emotional exhaustion and depersonalisation, but positively associated with personal accomplishment. There was a gender difference in the mediating role of Psychological capital on the occupational stress-job burnout. In male bank employees, Psychological capital mediated the relationships of extrinsic effort and reward with emotional exhaustion and depersonalization; in female bank employees, it partially mediated the relationships of extrinsic effort, reward and overcommitment with emotional exhaustion and depersonalisation, as well as the relationship between reward and personal accomplishment. Psychological capital was generally a mediator between occupational stress and job burnout among Chinese bank employees. Psychological capital may be a potential positive resource in reducing the negative effects of occupational stress on job burnout and relieving job burnout among bank employees, especially female bank employees.

RESUMO

The role of ferrous iron in the phosphorus cycle of an aquatic ecosystem is poorly understood because of a lack of suitable methods to quantitatively evaluate ferrous iron phosphorus (FIP) phases. Using sediments sampled from Fubao Bay of Dianchi Lake in China, a novel extraction method for FIP using 2,2'-bipyridine was explored. Total phosphorus and iron in the sediments ranged from 1.0 to 5.0 mg/g (dry weight) and 28.5 to 90.6 mg/g, respectively. Organic content (as indicated by loss on ignition or LOI) and iron(II) ranged from 3.1 to 27.0% and 26.5 to 64.9 mg/g, respectively. The dissolution dynamics of FIP extraction with a low solid/liquid ratio (1:25) indicated that a single application of 0.2% 2,2'-bipyridine extracted both iron(II) (Fe(II)) and phosphorus (as PO4(3-)) in sediments with different organic contents with low efficiency. The extraction efficiency of Fe(II) was improved by alteration of the solid/liquid ratio, but the effect was limited. However, addition of a 1:1000 solid/liquid ratio of 0.5 M potassium chloride to a 0.2% 2,2'-bipyridine solution significantly accelerated extraction of FIP with the release of Fe(II) and phosphorus toward equilibrium at approximately 150 hours. Further investigation demonstrated that 2,2'-bipyridine exhibited a higher selectivity in distinguishing FIP from phosphorus bound to ferric (Fe(III)) oxides or precipitated by calcium (Ca2+). Air-drying sediments significantly decreased the amount of extracted FIP, which indicates that fresh, wet sediment should be used in this type of FIP extraction. Based on experimental results using the proposed extraction protocol, (1) FIP in sediments of Fubao Bay had a predominant status in the lake sediment and accounted for 23.4 to 39.8% of total phosphorus, and (2) Fe(II)(FIP) released in the extraction is directly proportional to phosphorus(FIP) (Fe(II)(FIP) = 2.84 x P(FIP) + 0.0007; R2 = 0.97) with an average molar ratio of Fe(II)(FIP)/P(FIP) of 2.7. This study shows that FIP extraction with 2,2'-bipyridine is a robust method for releasing ferrous iron associated with phosphorus. Further, the high percentage of FIP in total phosphorus (40%) measured in the study site using this extraction method suggests that FIP might have been often underestimated in previous studies.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the various factors that influencing the flap thickness after laser operation in situ keratomileusis (LASIK). METHODS: 369 LASIK eyes (192 cases; among them, 15 patients for surgery monocular) with M2 130 microkeratome heads, grouped by left or right eye were analyzed by Chi-square test and logistic regression analysis based on age, sex, occupation, family history of myopia and ophthalmologic examination results before and after LASIK. The result of analysis of one-way variance which P < 0.05 as the variance to described with logistic regression analysis. RESULTS: Results from logistic regression analysis showed that the flap thickness after LASIK of right eye group was related to two factors: the preoperative refractive power (P = 0.017, OR = 0.832,95% CI: 0.715-0.968), and the corneal thickness (P = 0.000, OR = 1.023, 95% CI: 1.011-1.036) while left eye group was related to three factors: the preoperative astigmatism power (P = 0.044, OR = 2.094, 95% CI: 1.021-4.294), negative pressure suction time (P = 0.019, OR = 1.418, 95% CI: 1.059-1.898) and the corneal thickness (P = 0.000, OR = 1.049, 95% CI: 1.025-1.073). CONCLUSION: Corneal thickness, the preoperative astigmatism power and the negative pressure suction time tended to make the flap thicker while the preoperative refractive power tended to make the flap thinner. Results showed that the flap thickness performed at the first time was more obvious than at the second time.
