RESUMO

Heat-induced lesions in miners are characterized by syndrome of vegetovascular dysfunction presenting with a damage to the segmental and suprasegmental structures of the vegetative nervous system, worsening of the bodily heat status, decrement of physical performance. A distinguishing feature of vegetovascular dystonia in acute overheating is activation of sympathicus, while in chronic one that of parasympathicus. By patterns of function disorders and degree of their restoration acute overheating can be categorized into the following forms-mild, moderately severe and severe ones. In chronic overheating distinct syndromes are recognized depending upon the particular course of vegetovascular dysfunction, viz., permanent course vegetovascular dystonia, permanent paroxysmal one presenting with varying trend vegetative crises, apparent persistent bradycardia and syndrome of weakness of sinoatrial node. Acute overheating is more commonly seen in those miners with as yet little service duration while chronic overheating occurs more frequently in those persons with more than 8-year record of service in conditions of heating microclimate.

RESUMO

A clinical survey has been performed of 1640 miners engaged in deep mines characterized by steep geological strata, as a result of which increased disorders have been registered in audio, nervous, cardiovascular and respiratory systems. The maximum shifts of the acoustic analizer were identified in the frequency range of 4000 hertz by 10-12 years and in the speech frequency range by 14 years. Audiologic tests revealed assymmetries in auditory threshold shifts of both right and left ears in all 1640 cases studied.

RESUMO

To determine the frequency and characteristics of bacterial discharge, a cultural investigation of 166 patients' sputa was performed in three groups: Group 1: 37 pneumoconiosis at 2nd and 3d stages and active TB cases; Group 2: 41 non-active TB cases; Group 3: 88 cases of pneumoconiosis without concomitant TB infection. The sputa were studied with bacteriological techniques to determine the biologically changed forms of MBT. As a whole, the L-forms were found in 66.3% cases: Group 1-97.3%, Group 2-56.1%, Group 3-57.9% cases. In Group 2 and 3, the L-form bacterial discharge was scarce, predominantly with small monomorphic vacuolized forms.
