RESUMO

The authors carried out a study, examining for chlamydial infection 84 women with tubal infertility and 67 women with non-tubal infertility. The data were analyzed and compared with a group of 45 women with normal intrauterine pregnancy, who were also examined for chlamydial infection. The results observed in the study confirmed the notion that tubal infertility might be due to a sexually transmitted infection with Chlamydia trachomatis.

RESUMO

The authors analyse in the present study the results of the examination of 309 female patients for chlamydial infection, using Chlamyset Antigen (Orion Diagnostica--Finland) and Chlamydiasyme Diagnostic Kit (Abbott Labs--USA). Chlamydial antigen was found in the endocervix of 15.2% of the examined cases. Comparing the enzyme immunomethod Chlamydiasyme with the immunofluorescent method Chlamyset Antigen the authors found 94.4% diagnostic accuracy.

RESUMO

Experience is recorded in the treatment of acute gynecological diseases based on a series of 61 patients operated in the Clinic of Propedeutics of Surgical Diseases at the Research Institute of Surgery in Sofia for the period Jan. 1983-April 1990. They comprise 6.08 per cent of all emergency cases. The most common gynecological pathology was, as follows: 59 per cent ovarian cysts, 11.5 per cent adnexitis, 26.2 per cent adnexitis + pelvioperitonitis, 6.6 per cent extrauterine pregnancy, etc. The early postoperative results were very good--zero case fatality rate, absence of serious complications, 6.6 per cet suppurations. Taking into account also the very good remote results, the authors point to the trivial appraisal of the surgical activity and the need of thorough evaluation of the patient's fertility, all the more that 78.7 per cent of the women were younger than 39. In the light of the current trends in gynecological practice, the authors specify the indications and contraindications for surgical interventions in these diseases.

RESUMO

A study was carried out on the presence of antibodies to C. trachomatis in women with ectopic pregnancy, established during laparotomy. Pathohistological examination discovered that ectopic pregnancy occurred due to chronic salpingitis in a larger part of the women. The presence of antibodies to C. trachomatis was found in women with more sexual partners more frequently. Serum data for infection to C. trachomatis did not correlate with inflammatory gynecological diseases, undergone in the past. From the obtained results the authors could conclude that the endured subclinical chlamydial infection has caused damage of the Fallopian tubes, which is the cause for occurrence of ectopic pregnancy.

RESUMO

Twenty eight women with suspicion for extrauterine pregnancy were examined by a vaginal transducer. Extrauterine pregnancy was diagnosed in 18 of them, which was confirmed at the operation. There were no echographic data for tubal pregnancy in 10 of the women. Their further follow-up rejected the presence of extrauterine pregnancy. Three tubal pregnancies were discovered by routine monitoring of ovarian cycles. The immediate proximity of the vaginal transducer to the examined organs in the pelvis gives a possibility for exact topical diagnosis.

RESUMO

The effect of antibiotic treatment was studied on 41 women with inflammatory gynecological diseases at the acute and chronic stages as the patients were examined for presence of Chlamydia trachomatis in the endocervix. The high frequency of isolated Chlamydia trachomatis in these women (44.1%) with predominance at the age of 21-25 years show the important role of Chlamydia trachomatis in the etiology of the inflammatory process. Possibilities for therapeutic effect by using various antibiotic combinations are discussed.

RESUMO

The authors have treated 23 patients with duodenal ulcer under clinical and partially under out-patient department conditions with cimetidin 0.8 g daily in the course of 25 days. The results obtained are as follows: in 100 per cent -- abating of all clinical symptoms, in 56.25 per cent -- elimination of niche at X-ray examination and in 18.75 per cent -- diminution of ulcer size. The authors lay stress upon the good tolerance of the drug and absence of side effects.
