RESUMO

Results are submitted of investigation designed to study effects of a combined use of plasmapheresis and laser irradiation of blood on hemorheologic and hemodynamic characteristics in 36 patients with stage II hypertensive disease. The course exposure of patients to a combined use of plasmapheresis and laser irradiation of blood led to a drop of arterial pressure in different hemodynamic groups at the expense of different parameters characterising the hemodynamic status. Thus combined use of plasmapheresis and laser irradiation of blood can be considered a promising nonmedicamentous therapeutic alternative in patients with hypertensive disease being associated with a drop of arterial blood pressure, and what is more, improvement in viscous- and elastic properties of blood as well as its hemodynamic indices.

RESUMO

Plasmapheresis used in 61 patients with stage II hypertension brought a stable fall in arterial pressure and clinical response. Hypotensive drugs were reduced in doses or even discontinued. In subjects with hyperkinetic circulation arterial pressure went down due to decreased cardiac output. In hypokinetic hemodynamics hypotensive effect occurred because total peripheral resistance diminished. Lowering of arterial pressure was associated with positive changes in cerebral circulation. Plasmapheresis proved effective in all hypertensive subjects: in both hypo- and hyperkinetic circulation.

RESUMO

Autotransfusion of laser light-irradiated blood (5-7 sessions) was found to facilitate a steady arterial blood pressure fall by an average 24% of the initial level in patients with hypertensive disease. Drop in the arterial blood pressure following the course of autotransfusion of laser light-irradiated blood was accompanied by improvement in general condition of the patients, enhancement of the effectiveness of antihypertensive preparations, favourable shifts in immunological and haemorheological indices. After discharge from hospital beneficial clinical effect persisted for up to 4-8 months. The preliminary data obtained suggest that autotransfusion of laser light-irradiated blood may well be used as adjunct to a complex of therapeutic measures to be taken to control hypertensive disease.

RESUMO

The results are presented obtained on combined application of plasmapheresis and magnetic blood treatment as regards hemorheology and hemodynamics in 41 patients with essential hypertension stage II. The course introduction of the above combined treatment led to positive shifts in arterial pressure irrespective of the patients' hemodynamic type, in blood density, elasticity and dynamic properties.

RESUMO

The paper discusses the results of using plasmapheresis in the multimodality treatment of 51 patients with Stage II hypertensive disease. It has been found that the application of plasmapheresis results in the patient's clinical improvement as attenuation of headache and giddiness, cessation of cardialgia and better general condition. After plasmapheresis treatment, a dosage of antihypertensive agents could be reduced in most patients. The findings suggest that plasmapheresis opens up new fields of use in the treatment of hypertensives, exerting a substantial effect on immunological and hemorheological parameters and making the baseline changed hemodynamic parameters normal.

RESUMO

The authors discuss the results of the use of plasmapheresis in multimodality treatment of patients with stage II essential hypertension. At present the prevalence, ever increasing accessibility and relative simplicity of plasmapheresis make it possible to use it for the treatment of essential hypertension. Analysis of the data obtained shows the high efficacy of plasmapheresis in essential hypertension. Since plasmapheresis turned out effective in combination with drug therapy and alone as well, it is concluded that plasmapheresis is not only an approach to overcoming resistance to hypotensive therapy but also an independent treatment modality that exerts a considerable effect on the immunologic and hemorheologic blood properties. The above-indicated allows recommending plasmapheresis for the treatment of patients suffering from essential hypertension, since it may lead to a long-term decrease of arterial pressure, to the enhancement of the sensitivity to hypotensive drugs, to the diminution of drug requirements, thereby ameliorating the course and prognosis of the disease in patients suffering from essential hypertension.
