Background and Objectives: Patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) -positive, hormone receptor-positive (HR-positive) metastatic breast cancer (MBC) usually undergo trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1) therapy in subsequent lines. Combining endocrine therapy (ET) with T-DM1 can improve treatment outcomes in this subtype. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the benefits of using T-DM1 with ET in HER2-positive and HR-positive MBC. This study was the first to investigate the benefits of combining ET with T-DM1. Material and Methods: This study analyzed the medical records of patients with HER2-positive and HR-positive MBC who were treated with T-DM1 from June 2010 to December 2021. The patients were divided into groups based on whether they received concomitant ET with T-DM1. The primary endpoint was to determine the progression-free survival (PFS), while the secondary endpoints were overall survival (OS), objective response rate, and safety of the treatment. Results: Our analysis examined 88 patients, of whom 32 (36.4%) were treated with T-DM1 in combination with ET. The combination therapy showed a significant improvement in median PFS (15.4 vs. 6.4 months; p = 0.00004) and median OS (35.0 vs. 23.1 months; p = 0.026) compared to T-DM1 alone. The ORR was also higher in the combination group (65.6% vs. 29.3%; p = 0.026). Patients treated with pertuzumab priorly had reduced median PFS on T-DM1 compared to those who were not treated with pertuzumab (11.7 vs. 5.4 months, respectively; p < 0.01). T-DM1 demonstrated better median PFS in HER2 3+ patients compared to HER2 2+ patients, with an amplification ratio of >2.0 (10.8 vs 5.8 months, respectively; p = 0.049). The safety profiles were consistent with previous T-DM1 studies. Conclusions: The combination of T-DM1 with ET can significantly improve PFS and OS in patients with HER2-positive and HR-positive MBC. Our study suggests that prior pertuzumab treatment plus trastuzumab treatment might decrease T-DM1 efficacy.

Objective: Malaria has been eradicated in Türkiye as of 2010, but there are imported cases. In this study, we aimed to compare the diagnostic value of two rapid tests; SD Bioline Malaria Ag Pf/Pan (SD-Pf/Pan) and SD Bioline Malaria Ag Pf/Pv (SD-Pf/Pv) with microscopy and real time-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Methods: Blood samples were taken from all participants. Thick drop smears were prepared. Thick drop smears were examined for malaria positive/negative distinction under the light microscopy. Then, two rapid diagnostic tests (SD-Pf/Pan and SD-Pf/Pv) were performed. After DNA extraction from blood samples, RT-PCR was typed. The data were evaluated with SPSS 21 program of statistics. Results: A total of 30 cases out of 66 suspected malaria cases were detected as positive with microscopy and RT-PCR. Twenty-seven patients were found positive with both SD-Pf/Pan and SD-Pf/Pv tests. Based on the microscopic results as a reference method, SD-Pf/Pan and SD-Pf/Pv rapid diagnostic tests had a 90% sensitivity, 100% specificity, 100% positive predictive value (PPV), and 92.86% negative predictive value (NPV). Based on the RT-PCR results as a reference method, for detection of P. falciparum, both tests had a 95.65% sensitivity, 100% specificity, 100% PPV, and 88.89% NPV. Moreover, while SD-Pf/Pv had a sensitivity, specificity, PPV, and NPV of 100% in detection of P. vivax; SD-Pf/Pan has a 77.78% sensitivity of, 61.90% specificity of, 46.67% PPV, and 86.67% NPV SD-Pf/Pan for detection of PAN. Conclusion: As a result, high sensitivity and specificity were detected in both kits in the diagnosis of malaria infections caused by P. falciparum and P. vivax. Rapid diagnostic tests can be used safely in diagnosis however the diagnosis should be supported by microscopy and RT-PCR methods when they are applicable.

Functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs) are characterized by a variety of symptoms that are frequently age-dependent, chronic, or recurrent and are not explained by structural or biochemical abnormalities. There are studies in the literature reporting different results regarding the relationship between prematurity and FGIDs. The main objective of this study was to compare the frequency of FGIDs between preterm and term infants. The secondary objective was to evaluate whether there was any association between neonatal characteristics and development of FGIDs. A multicenter prospective cohort study that included preterm infants born before 37 weeks of gestation and healthy term infants was carried out. At 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, and 12 months of age, infants were assessed for the presence of FGIDs using the Rome IV criteria. In preterm infants, an additional follow-up visit was made at 12 months corrected age. 134 preterm and 104 term infants were enrolled in the study. Infantile colic, rumination syndrome, functional constipation, and infant dyschezia were more common in preterm infants. Incidence of other FGIDs (infant regurgitation, functional diarrhea and cyclic vomiting syndrome) were similar among preterm and term infants. Preterm infants who are exclusively breastfeed in the first 6 months of life have a lower incidence of infantile colic (18.8% vs 52.1%, p = 0.025). In terms of chronological age, FGIDs symptoms started later in preterm infants; this difference was statistically significant for infantile colic and regurgitation (median age 2 months vs 1 month, p < 0.001).   Conclusions: Preterm infants have a higher prevalence of FGIDs compared with term controls. Therefore, especially if they have gastrointestinal complaints, they should be screened for FGIDs. Possibly due to maturational differences, the time of occurrence of FGIDs may differ in preterm infants. Infantile colic incidence decreases with exclusive breastfeeding. What is Known: • The functional gastrointestinal disorders are a very common in infancy. • Data on preterm infants with FGIDs are currently very limited. What is New: • Preterm infants have a higher incidence of infantile colic, rumination syndrome, functional constipation and infant dyschezia when compared to term infants. • Preterm infants who are exclusively breastfed during the first 6 months of life experience a lower incidence of infantile colic.

Leishmania infantum is the species responsible for visceral leishmaniasis [(VL), kala-azar], which is observed sporadically mainly in pediatric age groups in the Aegean, Mediterranean and Central Anatolian regions of Türkiye. The aim of this study is to evaluate the diagnosis, clinic, laboratory results and treatments of four adult patients with VL who applied to our hospital. The patients were referred to our hospital to investigate hematological malignancy. In the study, the data of four patients (three men, one woman; age range: 30-40 years) who were diagnosed with VL and treated in the infectious diseases clinic of our hospital between January 2022 and April 2022 were evaluated retrospectively. The diagnosis of VL was made according to appropriate clinical and physical examination findings, biochemical and serological tests (indirect fluorescent antibody test and rK39 rapid antigen test) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) results, as well as the presence of amastigote forms of the parasite in bone marrow samples. Serology positivity was found in all patients, and bone marrow positivity was found in two patients. According to the results of RT-PCR in all patients, it was determined that the species causing the disease was L. infantum/L. donovani. Initially, the most common symptoms were fever, fatigue, and abdominal distension. None of the patients had an immunosuppressive condition. It was understood that all the patients lived in the rural area of Syria's Idlib province. Hepatosplenomegaly, increased erythrocyte sedimentation rate, anemia, leukopenia and thrombocytopenia were found in all patients. The patients were treated with liposomal amphotericin-B (L-AMB). One patient did not come for follow-ups, the other three patients were found to have completely recovered in their follow-up. No recurrence was observed in any of the patients. In conclusion, VL should be considered in patients who apply to health institutions with complaints of fever, hepatosplenomegaly, increased erythrocyte sedimentation rate, anemia, leukopenia and thrombocytopenia.

BACKGROUND: Colistin, a cationic polypeptide antibiotic of the polymyxin class has come back into use due to its potent antimicrobial activity against multidrug-resistant gram-negative bacteria and the lack of new antibiotics. The purpose of this study was to assess the critically ill infants treated with colistin in our neonatal intensive care unit and to identify predisposing factors for the emergence of acute kidney injury (AKI) following colistin treatment. METHODS: This was a retrospective case-control study that included infants with proven or suspected nosocomial infections in the neonatal intensive care unit of a University Hospital between January 2012 and March 2022. Over the same time period, the clinical and laboratory characteristics and outcomes of patients who received antibiotic combination with colistin were compared to patients who received antibiotic combination without colistin. RESULTS: A total of 77 patients were in the colistin group (ColG) and 77 patients were in the control group. The demographic and clinical characteristics of the study groups were similar. In the ColG compared to the control group, hyponatremia, hypokalemia, hypophosphatemia, hypomagnesia and AKI were all more prevalent (P < 0.05). The most important finding in our study was the higher incidence of AKI and mortality in ColG, as well as the increasing nephrotoxic effect of other medications when used in conjunction with colistin. CONCLUSION: During colistin therapy, newborn infants must be closely monitored for AKI. Clinicians should be aware of an increased incidence of hyponatremia, hypokalemia, hypophosphatemia, hypomagnesia, AKI and its consequences in infants given colistin. As awareness increases, harmful effects will decrease.

OBJECTIVE: This study examines the Turkish validity, reliability and diagnostic performance of the Voice Handicap Index-Partner (VHI-P-TR), which is used to obtain the perceptions of communication partners of individuals with dysphonia about the functional, physical and emotional handicap resulting from the patient experiencing dysphonia. METHOD: The study included 160 individuals with dysphonia and their communication partners. First, translation, back translation, expert validity and pilot study were performed in the scale adaptation process. Then, a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted to assess the construct validity of the VHI-P-TR. Correlations between the VHI-P-TR and Voice Handicap Index (VHI-TR) scores of dysphonic individuals were examined to evaluate the concurrent validity of the VHI-P-TR. To assess the reliability of the VHI-P-TR, a test-retest analysis was performed, and internal consistency coefficients (α) were calculated. A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis was conducted to determine the cut-off point for the VHI-P scores. RESULTS: A high positive correlation was found between the participants' VHI-P-TR and VHI-TR total and subscales mean scores (r's > 0.782; p < 0.01). The VHI-P-TR had high internal consistency regarding for its subscales and total score (α's > 0.94; p < 0.01). Factor loadings of all VHI-P-TR items were higher than 0.30 and their error variances were lower than 0.90. In addition, factor loadings were statistically significant for all the items (p < 0.05). The data fit the model well according to all CFA indices except for GFI (scale = 0.69). An adequate sensitivity and specificity were achieved for the VHI-P-TR, and the cut-off point was found as 11.50 for the total score and ranged from 2.50 to 5.50 for the subscales. CONCLUSION: The VHI-P-TR is a valid and reliable measurement tool with high diagnostic performance in all subscales and total score, and has high levels of agreement with the VHI-TR.

Leishmaniasis is a parasitic infection caused by an obligate intracellular protozoon transmitted by infected sand flies. Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) is a skin disease known in our country as oriental sore, which heals, leaving a scar in place, mainly on the skin and sometimes in the mucous membrane. Demonstration of the parasite in chronic CL is difficult. Moreover, differential diagnosis from other granulomatous dermatitides such as lupus vulgaris, sarcoidosis and deep mycosis is growing difficult. A case of CL was presented in an 84-year-old female patient who had a pre-diagnosis of lymphoma and a nodule lesion on her forehead for 2.5 months. In the smear of the sample taken from the lesion, amastigote forms of the parasite were diagnosed and typed as L. infantum by the Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) method.

The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of drip versus intermittent feeding on splanchnic oxygenation in preterm infants with intrauterine growth restriction. The second objective was to assess the relationship between fetal splanchnic circulation parameters and splanchnic oxygenation during the first week of life. A single-center, prospective, randomized study with 51 fetuses/infants was conducted. Fetal Doppler measurements including umbilical artery, middle cerebral artery, and superior mesenteric artery (SMA) were recorded in IUGR fetuses. After preterm delivery, the infants were randomly assigned to one of two feeding modalities: drip (3-h continuous) or intermittent (bolus in 10 min). Continuous regional splanchnic saturation (rSO2S) monitoring was carried out during the first week of life, simultaneously with continuous oxygen arterial saturation (SaO2) monitoring, and the infants' fractional oxygen extractions (FOE) were calculated. These parameters were evaluated as means on a daily basis for the first week of life, as well as pre-prandial and post-prandial measurements on the seventh day. Fetal Doppler flow velocimetry disturbances were present in 72.5% of the study cohort. The drip (26 infants) and intermittent (25 infants) groups were similar in demographic and clinical characteristics, as well as the prevalence of feeding intolerance and necrotizing enterocolitis. During the first week of life, there was no difference in daily mean rSO2S and FOE values between the drip and intermittent groups, whereas unfed infants had mostly lower rSO2S values. Pre-prandial and post-prandial rSO2S values remained stable in both groups. Also, no association was detected between fetal splanchnic circulation parameters and neonatal splanchnic oxygenation. RSO2S values were strongly correlated to gestational age and birth weight. During the whole week, except for the first 2 days, infants with umbilical catheters had significantly lower rSO2S values than infants without.  Conclusion: Our data suggest that the key factor in splanchnic oxygenation is feeding, not the feeding modality. What is New: • The key factor in splanchnic oxygenation of preterm infants with IUGR is feeding, not the feeding modality (drip or intermittent). • In addition, the umbilical vein catheter had a negative impact on splanchnic oxygenation.

Livedo racemosa (LRac) refers to violaceous, red, or blue netlike mottling of the skin in an irregular pattern caused by circulatory abnormalities. Central venous catheters (CVC) are widely used in neonates who require intensive care to offer steady intravenous access. CVCs are covered with a hydrophilic polymer gel that reduces friction between the sheath and the vessel wall, thereby minimizing vascular spasm, irritation, and aneurysm formation. However, the introduction of foreign material into the vein carries a risk of embolization. Recently, LRac was reported as a cutaneous manifestation of hydrophilic polymer gel embolization (HPE) in adults. We present a case of LRac in a newborn that developed following CVC insertion and resolved spontaneously after the catheter was removed.

BACKGROUND: Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) has different neurological outcomes. AIM: We wanted to see if there was any developmental delay in neonates with hypoxia ischemic encephalopathy who were given therapeutic hypothermia. STUDY DESIGN: Retrospective cohort study. METHODS: The Denver developmental screening test II (DDST-II) was performed to newborns who had been applied to therapeutic hypothermia. RESULTS: There were 69 male and 36 female newborns. The mean 1-min and 5-min Apgar scores were 4.72 ± 2.51 and 7.03 ± 2.017, respectively. The mean pH and mean base excess were 6.92 ± 0.1 and -18.05 ± 5.72, respectively. The most common risk factors were meconium staining (17.1%). There were 67 patients with Stage I, 20 with Stage II, and 18 with Stage III. Diffusion restriction was seen in 13 patients. 28 patients had seizures. In aEEG, 12 patients had burst suppression. Three (2.9%) infants died during hospitalization. 19 patients missed follow-up appointments. Thirteen patients had abnormal development according to DDST-II. Seven patients had gross motor function delays and were diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Three had language skill delays, but two of them had speech disorders after two years of age. Two had delayed milestones. Two had delays in fine motor skills but did not have any sequels after two years of age. A significant difference was found between seizures and the severity of Sarnat stage, intubation in the delivery room with developmental delay. Apgar scores were significantly lower in patients with CP. CONCLUSION: We should closely follow-up neonates who had low Apgar scores, seizures, a high Sarnat stage, were intubated in the delivery room.

INTRODUCTION: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic led to a lockdown period. Confinement periods have been related to unhealthy lifestyle behaviors. Our study aimed to determine weight change, changes in eating and exercise habits, the presence of depression and anxiety, and diabetes mellitus (DM) status in a cohort of patients with obesity. METHODS: The study was undertaken in nine centers of Collaborative Obesity Management (COM) of the European Association for the Study of Obesity (EASO) in Turkey. An e-survey about weight change, eating habits, physical activity status, DM status, depression, and anxiety was completed by patients. The International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) score was used to determine physical activity in terms of metabolic equivalents (METs). A healthy nutrition coefficient was calculated from the different categories of food consumption. The Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) and General Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7) Questionnaire  were used for determining depression and anxiety, respectively. RESULTS: Four hundred twenty-two patients (age 45 ± 12.7 years, W/M = 350/72) were included. The healthy nutrition coefficient before the pandemic was 38.9 ± 6.2 and decreased to 38.1 ± 6.4 during the pandemic (p < 0.001). Two hundred twenty-nine (54.8%) patients gained weight, 54 (12.9%) were weight neutral, and 135 (32.3%) lost weight. Patients in the weight loss group had higher MET scores and higher healthy nutrition coefficients compared with the weight gain and weight-neutral groups (p < 0.001). The PHQ and GAD scores were not different between the groups. Percent weight loss was related to healthy nutrition coefficient (CI: 0.884 [0.821-0.951], p = 0.001) and MET categories (CI: 0.408 [0.222-0.748], p = 0.004). One hundred seventy patients had DM. Considering glycemic control, only 12 (8.4%) had fasting blood glucose <100 mg/dL and 36 (25.2%) had postprandial BG <160 mg/dL. When patients with and without DM were compared in terms of dietary compliance, MET category, weight loss status, PHQ-9 scores, and GAD-7 scores, only MET categories were different; 29 (11.7%) of patients in the nondiabetic group were in the highly active group compared with 5 (2.9%) in the diabetic group. CONCLUSION: The COVID-19 lockdown resulted in weight gain in about half of our patients, which was related to changes in physical activity and eating habits. Patients with DM who had moderate glycemic control were similar to the general population in terms of weight loss but were less active.

OBJECTIVE: Within the scope of semi-occluded vocal tract exercises (SOVTEs), we aimed to examine the effects of four exercise combinations, which involved various fluid densities and tube submersion depths, on acoustic and electroglottographic (EGG) parameters. METHODS: Four procedures (P) were applied consecutively to 30 female participants with normal voices using different tube submersion depths and fluid densities, including P1 (2 cm, water), P2 (2 cm, nectar), P3 (10 cm, water), and P4 (10 cm, nectar). Nasometric (Nasometer II model 6450) and EGG (Electroglottograph model 6103) measurements were taken before the procedures were initiated (pre-test) and at the end of each procedure. In addition, EGG measurements were taken for each procedure during the application. RESULTS: For all three velar positions (oral passage, oro-nasal passage, nasal passage), the only procedure that caused a significant change compared to the pre-test stage in regard to nasalance score was P2 (2 cm nectar) in common. All other procedures except P1 (2 cm water) significantly increased velar closure compared to pre-test levels. However, when the differences between the exercises were examined, the least velar closure, compared to the other procedures, was obtained after P4 (10 cm nectar). While there was no significant difference between the procedures in the EGG measurements during the exercise, a significantly higher tendency to contact was observed after the procedures with a denser consistency, and an increase in the fundamental frequency (fo) values occurred in the pairwise comparisons of the procedures in the measurements after the exercises. CONCLUSION: In SOVTEs in which water phonation is performed with a tube, the use of a fluid with a consistency denser than water can be considered a particularly promising approach. In addition, exercises performed with increasing consistencies in 2 cm depth can provide more vocal cord and velopharyngeal port closure by increasing EGG-CQ and nasalance score values. However, more care should be taken while increasing the consistency at a submersion depth of 10 cm.

Leishmaniasis is a protozoan parasitic disease transmitted to humans by infected female sand flies. Turkey has received more than three million immigrants from Syria because of the civil war and political instability. This study reported cases of two patients, who were from Syria and lived in Hatay, with cutaneous leishmaniasis and mucosal involvement. Two patients presented to the infectious diseases clinic with a complaint of facial lesions and were subsequently referred to the parasitology department laboratory. Smears were prepared from the lesions, stained with Giemsa and examined under a microscope. Moreover, aspirates taken from the patients' lesions were inoculated into the modified Novy-MacNeal-Nicolle medium. The diagnosis was made when amastigotes were detected in both smears. Proliferation of promastigotes was observed in one of the clinical specimens inoculated on the medium. By PZR-RFLP, Leishmania tropica were detected in the isolate. Both patients were treated with amphotericin B. One patient was treated again with a pentavalent antimony compound because of the recurrence of the lesion.

Acanthamoeba species are free-living amoebae isolated from many ecological areas such as swimming pools, dams, lakes, soil, and air filters. These amoebae are usually causing granulomatous amebic encephalitis and amebic keratitis in immunosuppressive individuals. In this study, the reproductive potential and morphological changes determined of Acanthamoeba castellanii trophozoite and cyst forms exposed to three different active substances derived from benzothiazole. Furthermore, the cytotoxic potential of these active substances determined by XTT analysis. In the study, axenic cultures prepared for Acanthamoeba castellanii cyst and trophozoite forms and parasite exposed to different concentrations of active substances. Cell counts of parasite cultures were performed at the 30 minutes, 1st, 6th, 12th, 24th, and 48th hour periods. As a result of the study, the reproductive potential suppressive effects of all three substances on Acanthamoeba castellanii trophozoites and cysts were determined. The most effective of these substances was 2-Amino-6(trifluoromethoxy)-benzothiazole. In the first three concentrations of this substance (0.1%, 0.05%, 0.025%), no determined trophozoite and cysts at the end of twenty four. Due to its strong ameobicidal effect, it is thought that 2-Amino-6(trifluoromethoxy)-benzothiazole may be a new therapeutic agent in diseases caused by acanthamoeba parasites by supporting this study with animal experiments.

Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is a serious life-threatening birth defect characterized by abnormal development in the muscular or tendinous portion of the diaphragm during embryogenesis. Despite its high incidence, the etiology of CDH hasn't been fully understood. Genetic factors are important in pathogenesis; however, few single genes have been definitively implicated in human CDH. SLIT1, SLIT2, and SLIT3 (slit guidance ligand) are three human homologs of the drosophila Slit gene. They interact with roundabout (Robo) homolog receptors to affect cell migration, adhesion, cell motility, and angiogenesis and play important roles in cell signaling pathways including the guidance of axons. In this report, we presented dizygous twin babies with CDH related to the SLIT3 gene variant. Previous studies showed that Slit3 null mice had congenital diaphragmatic hernias on or near the ventral midline portion of the central tendon. This is the first report of homozygous SLIT3 variant associated with CDH in humans.

PURPOSE: Pediculosis caused by human head louse, Pediculus humanus capitis De Geer (Anoplura: Pediculidae) is a public health problem with a high prevalence, especially among children in school age. Different chemical pediculicides (insecticides) are used against lice but the repeated application of these pediculicides for the treatment of P. humanus capitis infestation in the past decades has resulted in the development of resistance. The plant essential oils have been used as alternative sources of lice treatment agents. Pediculicidal activity of the essential oils of three Origanum species (O. onites, O. majorana and O. minutiflorum) against P. humanus capitis adults was examined in this study. METHODS: Essential oils from aerial parts of three Origanum species were obtained by hydrodistillation using a Clevenger-type apparatus. P. humanus capitis specimens used were obtained from infested children by combing method at primary schools. Adult lice were exposed to three dilutions (1%, 0.5% and 0.1% w/v) of tested oils for 5 min using the adult immersion test. RESULTS: According to the results, all Origanum essential oils at 1% concentration have been shown to significantly decrease the rate of limb, bowel and abdomen movements, producing more than 90% mortality after 12 h. CONCLUSION: Our results indicated that Origanum essential oils can be used for the development of new pediculicides against head louse.

OBJECTIVE: The prone position was found to improve oxygenation and pulmonary functions in neonates receiving respiratory support. However, how this improvement changes brain tissue oxygenation has not been studied. We aimed to investigate how prone position effects regional cerebral oxygen saturation (rScO2) and cerebral fractional oxygen extraction (FOE) in preterm neonates during noninvasive ventilation (NIV). METHODS: Preterm neonates < 37 weeks gestational age (GA) stable on NIV were enrolled. NIV was defined as nasal continues positive airway pressure or intermittent positive pressure ventilation via binasal prongs. Near infrared spectroscopy was used to measure rScO2. Monitoring was started when the infant was lying supine for at least 1 h and continued at the same body position at least for 1 h. Later the infant was changed to prone position and monitored for additional 3 h. Arterial oxygen saturation (SO2) was also continuously monitored and FOE was calculated from rScO2 and SO2. RESULTS: Mean GA and birth weight of the cohort (n = 32) were 30.63 ± 3.09 weeks and 1459 ± 581 g, respectively. There were 14 females and 18 males. Both SO2 (95 ± 2.2% versus 96.2 ± 1.9%, p = .001) and rScO2 (79.2 ± 3.4% versus 82.1 ± 3.2%, p < .001) were higher in prone position compared to supine position. Cerebral FOE (16.6 ± 0.8% versus 14.7 ± 0.8%, p < .001) and respiratory rate (57.3 ± 5.5 versus 55.6 ± 9.2, p = .003) were lower in prone position. CONCLUSION: In preterm newborns, receiving nasal NIV for mild to moderate respiratory distress, arterial and cerebral oxygenations were better in prone position.
