RESUMO

The effect of coherent and non-coherent electromagnetic fields of millimetre range on biophysical and biochemical indices of blood erythrocytes and plasma of the animals totally exposed to radiation at various periods of observation (day 1, 5, 10) was studied. The following structure-functional shifts were revealed: deviations in the content of separate phospholipid fractions of erythrocyte membranes, the changes of lipid peroxidation products in erythrocyte membranes and blood plasma of the irradiated animals, statistically significant increase of K ions out-flow from the erythrocytes, as well as the alteration of the value of membrane potential of erythrocytes.

RESUMO

The effects of lethal and sublethal doses of ionizing radiation on structural and functional characteristics of erythrocytes membranes was studied. Statistically reliable increase in K+ escape from cell and decrease in membrane potential. Model membranes made of phospholipids extracted from irradiated membranes exhibit increased ion permeability. Radiation induced changes in some membrane phospholipids content were revealed.

RESUMO

Specific alterations in glycerokinase and glycolytic pathways of glycerophosphate biosynthesis were detected in kidney under conditions of chronic bronchopulmonary inflammation. Considerable inhibition of glycerol kinase and glycerophosphate dehydrogenase resulted in pronounced decrease in content of glycerophosphate--initial metabolite of phosphatide genesis.

RESUMO

Glycerokinase, glycerophosphate dehydrogenase, glycerophosphate acyltransferase activity, glycerophosphate, dioxiacetonphosphate level and in vivo incorporation of (U-14C)-glucose into the lung phospholipid structure were studied in normal rats and in conditions of chronic bronchopulmonary inflammation. The inhibition of glycerokinase and glycolytic ways of glycerophosphate formation was demonstrated. The data obtained have shown that glucose incorporation into phosphatidyl cholines, phosphatidyl glycerols and phosphatidyl ethanolamines was decreased, while the incorporation of radioactivity into the sphingomyelins and lysophosphatidyl cholines was significantly activated.

RESUMO

Incorporation of U-14C-glucose into individual phospholipids from heart tissue was studied during chronic bronchopulmonary inflammation in vivo. Incorporation of the glucose into diphosphatidylglycerols, phosphatidyl serine, phosphatidyl ethanolamine was decreased and into the sphingomyelins, phosphatidylinositol, lysophosphatidyl choline was increased.

RESUMO

The changes were examined in the content and spectrum of phospholipids and lipid peroxidation in right heart tissue during chronic inflammatory bronchopulmonary process. The content of phosphatidylcholines, phosphatidylserines, diphosphatidylglycerins in the myocardium decreased and lysophosphatidylcholines appeared in the spectrum of total phospholipids, which was accompanied by dramatic activation of lipid peroxidation.

RESUMO

Initial steps of the experimental pancreatitis were characterized by an increase in glycerophosphate accumulation as well as in activity of glycerokinase, glycerophosphate dehydrogenase and glycerol dehydrogenase; content of free glycerol and dihydroacetone phosphate was also increased. Within the subsequent periods the patterns studied exhibited normalization except of glycerokinase and glycerophosphate dehydrogenase activity of which was distinctly decreased as compared with the controls.

RESUMO

Burns affected the content of L-alpha-glycerophosphate /L-alpha-GP/ in rats; its level was reduced within 15 days after burns. Phasic changes in L-alpha-glycerophosphate dehydrogenase and glycerokinase activities in liver and brain tissues and phospholipase A in blood were also observed. Intraperitoneal administration of alpha-tocopheryl acetate into rats subjected to burns abolished the decrease in content of L-alpha-GP although the activity of the drug varied within this 15 day period. In brain the activity of these enzymes was increased 2-3-fold. The data obtained are in good agreement with those published previously and indicating loss of phospholipids in liver and brain tissus following burns.

RESUMO

A distinct increase in activity of glycerokinase and glycerophosphate dehydrogenase and in content of L-alpha-glycerophosphate were observed in brain and liver tissues of rats treated with ethanol for 40 days. The similar alterations were observed after treatment with ehtanol for 80 days but in these conditions the content of L-alpha-glycerophosphate in liver tissue was decreased.
