RESUMO

The hormones on the axis hypophysis-ovary and hypophysis-suprarenal gland were examined in 60 women with polycystic ovaries and hairy virilism, 53 women with hirsutism and 45 healthy women, all of the same age. The results show that in hairy virilism from ovarian origin the luteinizing hormone level (LH) is increased 100% and the follicle stimulating hormone level (FSH) is decreased 200%. The index LH/FSH is increased more than 3 times. The testosterone and androstanedione levels are increased, too. In patients with suprarenal-cortex hirsutism the levels of ACTH, androstanedione, dehydroepiandrosterone-sulfate, testosterone and cortisol are increased. A hirsutism from running with hyperprolactinemia is differentiated. The three hirsutism forms may appear as separate forms or in combination.

RESUMO

The concentrations of testosterone, estradiol, LH and FSH were studied in blood plasma of 84 healthy males and in the seminal plasma of 22 fertile males. The results obtained are juxtaposed to the concentrations of the indicated hormones in seminal fluid of 35 males with oligoasthenospermia and of 46 males with azoospermia. The concentration of the hormones in the seminal plasma was established to be equal to their concentrations in blood plasma. That enables their investigation in the seminal fluid in parallel with the spermogram. Normal fertility is admitted to be that fertility with a concentration of testosterone ranging from 250-550 mg%, of estradiol from 40-60 pg/ml, of LH-25-35 mlU/ml and of FSH from 20-30 mlU/ml. Reduced fertility has the concentrations of testosterone and estradiol reduced with more than 50% of the normal level, and that of gonadotropic--elevated with more than 50% of the normal level.

RESUMO

Plasma concentrations of testosteron, LH, FSH were repeatedly followed up during a three-year hormonal treatment in 40 patients with comfirmed prostate carcinoma. The initial concentrations of the indicated hormones were established not to differ statistically from their levels in intact subjects and cannot serve as diagnostic criteria. With a drop of testosteron concentration under 70 per cent from the initial level, the treatment with hormonal preparations could be admitted successful and with a drop to 10 per cent--a maintaining therapy should be followed.

RESUMO

A qualitatively new method is proposed for extraction and separation of progesterone from blood plasms, substituting the imported reagent hexane for the homeoproduced diethyl ether and the separating technique via freezing. The technical changes proposed improve the percentage of extraction of progesterone in blood plasma from 80 per cent to 95 per cent, making the method more sensitive to low concentrations of blood plasma progesterone.
