RESUMO

Antibody responses to myelin antigens were analysed in 15 patients who developed acute neuroparalytic accidents (ANPA) during post-exposure rabies vaccination using a rabies vaccine prepared on brain tissues and in 30 individuals who were uneventfully vaccinated. High titers (> or = 100) of IgG and IgM antibodies to GM1 or GD1a gangliosides were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent-assay (ELISA) in plasmas from ANPA patients but not in controls. These data suggest that antibodies to GM1 and GD1a gangliosides may play a pathogenic role in the demyelinating and/or inflammatory processes characteristic of rabies vaccine-induced acute neurologic complications.

RESUMO

The authors recall the historic of the different campaigns conducted against the malaria in Tunisia. Started since 1903 under the direction of Charles Nicolle, these campaigns were taken over after the end of each world war. However it must be necessary to wait the last campaign from 1966 to 1972, to conclude at the eradication of the disease, in 1977, into the country. Since this date, the systematic control of malaria is always conducted in the country. This end control is objected to avoid the resurgence of this parasitic disease in Tunisia, for the number of imported cases is increasing and the country presents ecological conditions propitious to Anopheles.

RESUMO

The indirect immunofluorescent technic, recommended by WHO, allows us to consider again, the problem of rickettsial diseases in Tunisia. This pathology, always actual, presents, also in epidemiological as in clinical aspect, a predominance for Mediterranean spotted fever by R. conori. Murin typhus by R. mooseri is still remained, but its incidence seems to be slight. The frequency of Q Fever must to be determined.

RESUMO

About diet parasitosis, the author distincts three origins of contamination: telluric, proteinic, and both. The telluric parasitosis are the most frequent, intestinal (by helminths or protozoairs) as visceral (hydatidosis). The frequence of these parasitosis is subjected to changes in the different areas, in intensity, but also in the nature of identified parasite. Toxoplasmosis, transmitted by the two mods occurs in Tunisia. The population average percentage protection is however no sufficient to prevent the risk of contamination during pregnancy.

RESUMO

The authors point out three cases of appendicular taeniasis disease into an analytical retrospective study of 5,000 appendicectomies. In these 3 cases the parasite does not induce important processes level with the appendix. The localisation of the parasite is very rare.

RESUMO

About three clinics cases, the author points out the presence of urticaria symptoms associated with giardiasis disease, and necessity of the treatment of such parasitosis, after parasitological investigation of motions.

RESUMO

A study about 697 patients with fungous injuries of scalp and hairless skin shows that 50% of scalp lesions and 16% of hairless skin lesions are dermatophyties. The incidence of dermatophytes is stable since the last study of Juminer in Tunis (1964); Trichophyton violaceum is the most identified fungous; however, we attend the push of zoo-anthropophil dermatophytes, so that Microsporum canis.

RESUMO

We want to repeat the interest of toxoplasmosis serodiagnostic in human pathology. First, to help the diagnostic of this affection, with adult and children; then, to prevent this parasitose with pregnant women. Results in our laboratory, since two years, point out that a large number of women are seronegative. We are proposing a protocol of supervision for women before and during their pregnancy. This protocol avoids the risk of foetal contamination and prevents congenital toxoplasmosis.
