[Justifying expedience connected with development of Federal Law "On chemical safety"].

Based on analysis of present legal acts and regulations concerning chemicals handling in Russia, the authors necessitate development of Federal Law "On chemical safety".

[Problems in the system of state regulation of chemical safety].

In the paper the analysis of the problems of chemical safety abroad and in Russian Federation is presented, possible ways for their solutions, including the need for legal and scientific-methodical support for population health risk assessment are considered.

[The advantages and problems of implementation of the globally harmonized system (GHS) of classification and labelling of chemicals in the practice of the national preventive toxicology and hygiene].

GHS, aimed at unifying and objective assessment of risk has significant differences from current classifications of toxicity and danger applied in the Russian Federation. However, the need to implement the international commitments of the Russian Federation, the reluctance of the Russian industry twice classify and label products for the domestic and international market demand introduction of the International Classification into the practice of national preventive toxicology.

[International regulation of the lead and its compounds].

The analysis of International regulation of lead and its compounds has been performed. The main directions for minimization of the risk of the exposure of this heavy metal to human health and the environment are the prohibition of their use and replacement with safe counterparts.

[Standardization of the chemical-pharmaceutical industry products in water with consideration of their pharmacological and hygienic properties]. / Normirovanie v vode produktov khimiko-farmatsevticheskoi promyshlennosti s uchetom ikh farmakologicheskikh i gigienicheskikh svoistv.

Results of experimental substantiation of hygienic standards of 30 drugs in water and analysis of published data showed that drugs should be referred to highly hazardous pollutants of the environment. Criteria and indexes of pharmacologic activity were proposed for use in norm-setting studies.

[An experimental validation of the MPEL for the Zharilek mixture and its component constituents]. / Eksperimental'noe obosnovanie PDK smesi "Zharilek" i sostavliaiushchikh ee komponentov.

"Zharilek" preparation MAC in the water reservoirs was approved at the level of 0.01 mg/l. The preparation is referred to the 3rd class of hazard by the complex toxicological study.

[Experimental study of the effect of rubidium on the cardiovascular system]. / Eksperimental'noe issledovanie deistviia na serdechnososudistuiu sistemu.

The experimental data on the chronic inhalation effects of rubidium on the myocardium and the rate of natural organism aging are presented. No cardiotoxic effect of rubidium sulfate has been established. Hypotensive effect is associated with neurohormonal shifts at the level of an integral organism. Its impact does not result it potassium displacement in cells. Rubidium standardization should be carried out without taking account of gerontogenic effect.
