RESUMO

At electron microscopical investigation together with common desmosome-like connections, certain contact formations have been revealed, they possessing other morphological properties. These contact formations present themselves as areas of specialized plasmic membranes of perikaryons of neighbouring granular cells. From cytoplasm of both neurons subsuperficial flattened cisterns adjoin the contact area, thus forming together with the plasmic membranes a structure consisting of 11 layers. These specific connections of the neuronal membrane, having a more complex organization than desmosomes, participate in intracellular transport.

RESUMO

Light and electronmicroscopic studies have been made on the structure of the wall of the thoracic lymph duct in puppies within 3 months of their postnatal life. It was shown that differentiation and specialization of the smooth muscle cells is accomplished in the main features to the 3rd month of postnatal life. Within this period, the number of the nervous fibers increases, and their linking to the media becomes more close. Absence of dense neuro-muscular contacts indicates distant pattern of the effect of neuromediators on the effector cells. The data obtained demonstrate that during postnatal ontogenesis of dogs changes take place in the barrier properties of the wall of the lymph duct, as well as the formation of morphological substrate for active contractile activity.

RESUMO

Axoplasmic vesicles and microtubes in varicosities of axonal plexus in the external sheath of the rabbit coronary artery have been studied. Comparing serial sections and examining three-dimensional reconstruction of small nerve plexus, it was demonstrated that various varicosities differed only in their correlation of the amount of small (30-80 nm) and large (80-180 nm) vesicles. Average diameters in profiles of small and large vesicles are 56.3 nm and 115.6 nm, respectively. There are varicosities containing about 250 or more than 1,000 vesicles. Evenly distributed vesicles throughout the volume of varicosities and lack of specialized structures on the axolemma are supposed to demonstrate the absence of special areas for the mediator removal in the axons studied. The microtubes in the varicosities are peripherally arranged, next to the axolemma and form 1-1.5 wide coils. A suggestion is made that the varicosities in neighbouring axons of the same nerve plexus, with specific structural organization, are special functional units and appear to be peculiar not only for nerve plexus of the coronary artery, but also for other parts of the peripheral vegetative nerve system.

RESUMO

Ultrastructure of varicous dilatation of the axons composing small neuronal fasciculi in the sympathetic plexus of the rabbit coronary artery has been studied. According to the data of three dimensional reconstruction, space structure of three neuronal fasciculi has been restorted. Axons of every fasciculus form varicous dilatation at the same area along their course. A lemmocytic process, accompanying the axon as a thin cylinder at the intervaricous part flattens, in the area of varicous dilatations. and embraces all the axons, thus forming a peculiar functional unit of the neuronal fasciculus. From the data obtained and those of literature, it is possible to suggest that not only single axons situating in the nearest approximation to smooth muscle cells, but also single neuronal fasciculi having in their composition axons with varicous dilatation might effectively influence the smooth musculature of the vascular wall.

RESUMO

The fine structure of nerve plexus in the rabbit abdominal aorta, ear and coronary arteries has been studied. Four types of the nerve fibre organization corresponding to different levels of sectioning their preterminal and terminal zones have been determined. Axons form large bundles which lose Schwann sheathes and divide into smaller and even single axons as they approach the distal end. Single axons make up contacts with effector cells without forming special synaptic structures. The smalles distance found between axon membranes and smooth muscle cells is 20 nm and 50 nm for the ear and coronary arteries, respectively. In the abdominal aorta, axons lie at a distance of several microns from the muscle sheath. Such arrangement supports the hypothesis of a "distant" nervous influence on the smooth muscle and indicates that the space of nervous influence comprises the tissue surrounding the blood vessel

RESUMO

Electronmicroscopic studies have been made on the distribution of the nervous fibers in the wall of the constricted and dilated auricular artery of the rabbit. It was demonstrated that during the dilatation of the vessel, the dimensions of the neuro-muscular cleft decrease. In the constricted artery, 50% of the nervous fibers are found in the adventitial zone which has a thickness of 4.6 mu. In the dilated vessel this zone decreases up to 1.8 mu. It is suggested that this mechanism is responsible for the regulation of the blood vessel tone.
