RESUMO

Fifty-four patients with viral hepatitis B (VHB) were examined at the height of the disease as were 30 patients with mechanical jaundice (MJ) of tumorous etiology and 19 normal persons. Mechanical jaundice was mainly characterized by a considerable growth of the concentration of carcinoembryonic antigen, whereas VHB by an increase of the cholylglycine level. Concomitant detection of those markers can be used in differential diagnosis of parenchymatous jaundice and mechanical jaundice of tumorous etiology. Alterations of the alpha-fetoprotein level were of no information content.

RESUMO

Enzymological examination of 113 patients with A and B viral hepatitis (VH) and 41 with obstructive jaundice of tumor origin and 32 with chronic cholecystitis during exacerbation showed an increase of activity of blood serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDG), gamma-glutamyltranspeptidase (GGTP), alkaline phosphatase. The GGTP/LDG ratio is of differential-diagnostic value. Ratio values of 0.8 and less indicate VH while values of 1 and more indicate obstructive jaundice.

RESUMO

The chemotherapy of cholecystocholangitis in patients with virus hepatitis was estimated. Antibiotics, furagin and pathogenetic drugs were used for the treatment. The antibiotics were chosen with regard to their sensitivity to the bile microflora. This resulted in sanation of the bile ducts. Furagin was less effective. The use of the pathogenetic drugs alone was ineffective in the majority of patients.
