RESUMO

The complete mitochondrial genome of green shrimp, Chlorotocus crassicornis (Costa, 1871) was generated by the combination of next-generation sequencing platform and long PCR technique. The mitochondrial genome of C. crassicornis was 16,500 bp, in which 13 protein-coding genes, two ribosomal RNAs, 22 transfer RNAs, and a putative control region was encoded. Based on the 13 protein-coding genes region, the phylogenetic tree was clearly demonstrated that C. crassicornis is closest to Pandalopsis japonica and Pandalus borealis with 77% identity. This mitogenome information will be helpful for the further studies of deep-sea fisheries resources management strategies in Korea including C. crassicornis species.

RESUMO

We determined the complete mitochondrial genome of Palaemon gravieri (Yu, 1930), which is collected from East China Sea (124°E and 33.5°N). Total mitochondrial genome length of P. gravieri was 15 740 bp, in which 13 proteins, 2 ribosomal RNAs, 22 transfer RNAs, and a putative control region were encoded. Nine and four protein-coding genes are encoded on the H-strand and on the L-strand, respectively. According to the phylogenetic analysis, P. gravieri was most closely related to Exopalaemon carinicauda among the compared five species belonging to Palaemonidae. Although overall gene organization was same, the putative control region (between SrRNA gene and tRNAIlel) is least similar to one another among mitochondrial genomes from the compared 5 species belonging to Palaemonidae.

We characterized the total mitochondrial genome of Australian spiny lobster, Panulirus cygnus (George, 1962), which is found along the western coast of Australia. Total mitochondrial genome length of P. cygnus was 15 724 bp, in which 13 proteins, 2 ribosomal RNAs, 22 transfer RNAs, and a putative control region were encoded. Nine and four protein-coding genes are encoded on the H-strand and on the L-strand, respectively. According to the phylogenetic analysis, P. cygnus was most closely related to Panulirus japonicus among the compared six species belonging to Palinuridae. We determined the complete mitochondrial genome of Metapenaeopsis dalei (Rathbun, 1902), which is collected from East China Sea (124°E and 33.5°N). Total mitochondrial genome length of M. dalei was 15 939 bp, in which 13 proteins, two ribosomal RNAs, 22 transfer RNAs and a putative control region were encoded. The gene arrangement of M. dalei was well conserved with nine known Penaeidae mitochondrial genomes from COX1 to tRNATyr . The protein-coding genes started with ATN except for COX1 in which ACG is used. Four genes (COX2, COX3, ND3 and ND5) exhibited an incomplete stop codon. Nucleotide sequence identity of M. dalei mitochondrial genome to those of nine Penaeidae species ranged from 78% to 80%. Based on the COI region, M. dalei is most closely related to Penaeus notialis.
