RESUMO

This study aimed to identify the clinical features of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in primary clinics and the effectiveness and safety of herbal medicine (HM). Thirty-five patients with gastroesophageal-reflux symptom who visited the 16 Korean medicine (KM) primary clinics from June 2022 to October 2022 were included in the study. We retrospectively analyzed the charts of 35 patients and collected clinical characteristics, HM, and outcome variables such as the numerical rating scale, gastroesophageal reflux disease questionnaire, frequency scale for symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease, Euro-Quality Of Life-5 Dimension, and adverse events. Of the 35 patients, 12 (34.3%) were men, and the average age of all patients was 47.0 ±â€…14.3 years. HM was prescribed for all 35 patients; Pinelliae Tuber (n = 31, 88.57%), Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (n = 30, 85.71%), and Poria Sclerotium (n = 28, 80%) were the most prescribed herbs. All scores including numerical rating scale, frequency scale for symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease questionnaire, and Euro-Quality Of Life-5 Dimension after 30 and 60 days from baselines showed significant improvement, and there were only a few adverse events. This study supports the effectiveness and safety of HM in reducing GERD symptoms in primary Korean medicine clinics. The most frequently used herbs may play significant roles in GERD symptom management.

In this paper, the potential feasibility of integrating Ba(x)Sr(1-x)TiO3 (BST) films into Si wafer by adopting tunable interdigital capacitor (IDC) with TiO2 thin film buffer layer and a RF tunable active bandpass filter (BPF) using BST based capacitor are proposed. TiO2 as a buffer layer is grown onto Si substrate by atomic layer deposition (ALD) and the interdigital capacitor on BST(500 nm)/TiO2 (50 nm)/HR-Si is fabricated. BST interdigital tunable capacitor integrated on HR-Si substrate with high tunability and low loss tangent are characterized for their microwave performances. BST/TiO2/HR-Si IDC shows much enhanced tunability values of 40% and commutation quality factor (CQF) of 56.71. A resonator consists of an active capacitance circuit together with a BST varactor. The active capacitor is made of a field effect transistor (FET) that exhibits negative resistance as well as capacitance. The measured second order active BPF shows bandwidth of 110 MHz, insertion loss of about 1 dB at the 1.81 GHz center frequency and tuning frequency of 230 MHz (1.81-2.04 GHz).

In this paper, a Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 (BST) tunable phase shifter with TiO2 films as microwave buffer layer between BST and silicon (Si) substrates is presented. The TiO2 buffer layer is grown by atomic layer deposition (ALD) onto Si substrate followed by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) of BST thin films onto the TiO2 buffer layer. The phase shifter fabricated on BST films grown on TiO2/Si substrate shows a good figure of merit (FOM) of 75.4 degrees/dB by exhibiting improved tunablity while retaining an appropriate dielectric Q as compared to 55.1 degrees/dB of BST/MgO structure. The TiO2 buffer layer grown by ALD enables successful integration of BST-based microwave tunable devices with high resistive Si wafer.
