RESUMO

The impact of two plasmid (47, 82 MD), single plasmid (47 MD) and non plasmid Y. pseudotuberculosis strains, Y. enterocolitica (47 MD) as well as Y. pseudotuberculosis superantigen (YPM) on the production of interleukin-1 (IL-1), interleukin-6 (IL-6), interferon-alpha (IFN = alpha) and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) by whole blood cells obtained from donors was studied. All Y. pseudotuberculosis and Y. enterocolitica strains stimulated the production of IFN-alpha, IL-1, IL-6 and TNF-alpha by whole blood cells, but considerably less than Y. pseudotuberculosis lipopolysaccharide and YPM. These data are indicative of the pathogenetic role played by 82 MD plasmid in manifestation of Y. pseudotuberculosis immunosuppressive properties. The maximum stimulation of the production of cytokines was observed under the action of YPM, which confirmed an important role played by this superantigen in the pathogenesis of Y. pseudotuberculosis.

RESUMO

Before pancreatic islet cell transplantation, the share of diabetes mellitus type 1 patients with immunodeficient conditions amounted to 70.1%. After the surgery it was equal to 22.5%. In diabetes mellitus type 2 these values were 79 and 18%, respectively. The xenotransplantation leads to elevation of T-lymphocytes level in diabetic patients with T-dependent and B-dependent immunodeficiency, but does not correct T-helpers/T-suppressors ratio, which was abnormal in diabetics with autoimmune disorders.

RESUMO

Immune status was studied in 57 diabetes mellitus patients with wound healing. T- and B-lymphocyte systems exhibited features specific for type 1 and 2 diabetes mellitus. The authors conclude on the usefulness of individual approach to immune correction in diabetics.

RESUMO

Immunization of BALB/c mice by sheep red blood cells and Salmonella typhi vaccine has been shown to augment the immune complexes in plasma and erythrocytes in blood fixing the immune complexes on their surface. The inactivation of immune complexes in immunized mice by intravenous injection of the antiserum against aggregated immunoglobulins decreases the hemoglobin in blood serum. The data obtained show that the fixation of immune complexes on erythrocytes is one of the reasons of erythrocytes destruction activation in immunization.

RESUMO

Experiments in white mice have demonstrated an increase in the levels of damaged leukocytes in the body and in leukopoietic activity of the blood serum after primary immunization. An increase in the content of leukocyte decomposition products in the body, induced by the injection of neutrophil lysate, stimulated antibody formation in mice and enhanced phagocytic and cytotoxic activity of the peritoneal exudate macrophages in rats.

RESUMO

Immunostimulating properties of the serum of patients suffering from myocardial infarction were demonstrated in experiments on albino mice and rats. Injection of the serum intensified antibody production in the animals, increased blood serum bactericidal activity in relation to E. coli and intensified lysozyme production and neutrophilic phagocytic activity. The properties listed should be linked with the accumulation in blood of patients with myocardial infarction of leucopoietins acting on the macrophages and granulocytes which are closely related to the mechanisms of natural resistance.
