RESUMO
The authors draw attention to another method for diagnostic visualization, i.e. three-dimensional reconstruction CT. They demonstrate some typical cases of possible application of this method. Despite the great asset of the method they draw attention to the fact that it is a selective and limited method.

The author mentions in his paper the slight increase in the incidence of fractures of the pelvis and acetabulum in recent years. He emphasizes the necessity to supplement the X-ray picture by CT 3D examination to make the diagnosis more accurate. This examination is a guideline for the subsequent therapeutic procedure. The author mentions different types of osteosynthesis, postoperative complications, principles of postoperative care. Because of the short time interval which elapsed so far, long-term results are not evaluated. Key words: fractures of the acetabulum.
RESUMO
The authors describe a less common complication of external osteosynthesis--a false arteriovenous aneurysm. On the case-history of a patient they demonstrate the risk associated with insertion of nails, the necessity of careful follow-up of patients after operation, and in case of suspicion, the necessity of accurate diagnosis and urgent surgical operation.

The authors draw attention to the possible development of heterotopic ossifications in patients treated at resuscitation departments on account of prolonged loss of consciousness and in orthopaedic and traumatological departments after operations of the locomotor apparatus. They reflect on the aetiology, pathogenesis of this unpleasant complication. In the conclusion they draw attention to possible prevention and treatment by non-steroid antirheumatic drugs, X-ray therapy in small doses and surgical treatment. Key words: heterotopic ossification, paraarticular ossification.
