RESUMO
A case of sireniform malformation in a 17-wk-old fetus is described. In addition to the characteristic fusion of the lower limbs, there were also severe malformations of the urogenital system and lower intestinal tract. The essential features and various theories of genesis are discussed. The cases so far described in literature are reviewed. Ultrasound can be very useful in early detection of this deformity, because defective movements of the single lower limb and the typical medial position of the fibulae can be seen.

A case of Takayasu's disease in pregnancy in a 27-yr-old Dutch Gravida I, para 0 is presented, in which the diagnosis was confirmed by angiography before pregnancy. Diagnostic and therapeutic problems occurred during pregnancy; however, a successful delivery of a healthy infant was accomplished. The obstetrical course of this patient is compared with 12 others so far described in the literature. The symptoms of this rare condition may improve or worsen during pregnancy. The best therapy is rest. Vaginal delivery is recommended and cesarean section should be reserved for specific obstetric indications.

In this study 20 cases of primary epithelial ovary carcinoma stage I (Figo) were presented. In 5 cases (25%) para-aortic lymph nodes were positive, because of which their stage changed into Stage III. This shows that for correct staging of ovary carcinoma stage I, extirpation of the para-aortal glands is obligatory. It was observed that tumors on the external surface of the ovary and tumor cells in the peritoneum fluid were not related to positive para-aortal glands. The para-aortic metastases were found in the tumors with a histologic grading according to Broders' classification III and IV.
