RESUMO
We report here a draft genome sequence of Megasphaera sp. ASD88, a strain from the intestinal microbiota of a child with autism spectrum disorder, representing a previously undescribed species of the genus Megasphaera. The assembled sequence consists of 88 scaffolds, and the total size is 2.59 Mb.
RESUMO
We report on the smooth transition between gradient-banded velocity profiles with a sharp interface and curved velocity profiles, both resulting from strong shear-thinning dispersions of concentrated xanthan (a highly charged poly-saccharide). Pronounced shear-banded flow, where two extended shear-bands are separated by a relatively sharp interface, is observed in a limited range of shear rates, at very low ionic strength and at a high concentration, using heterodyne light scattering to measure spatially resolved velocity profiles. The width of the interface between the coexisting shear-bands broadens to span a sizable fraction of the gap of the shear cell, either by changing the shear rate, by lowering the concentration, or by increasing the ionic strength. The broadening results in a smooth transition to highly curved velocity profiles and is connected to a disappearing flow birefringence. Thus, these experiments show that the classic shear-banding instability can give rise to highly curved velocity profiles, due to the existence of broad interfaces between the bands, with an extent of the order or larger than the cell gap width. This observation may aid to resolve the ongoing dispute concerning shear-banding of highly entangled polymeric systems, suggesting that the curved velocity profiles that have been observed in the past are in fact shear-banded states with an unusually broad interface.
RESUMO
According to the results of analysis of whole genome sequencing, the presence of genes having resistance to ß-lactam antibiotics in hospital-associated strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae was studied. The strains were isolated from neonatal intensive care units. The data obtained were compared with the results of antimicrobial susceptibility testing of isolated microorganisms. Among other strains resistant to cephalosporins, the dominance of genes of CTX-M-type extended-spectrum ß-lactamases was shown. It was revealed that one of eight strains phenotypically resistant and moderately resistant to carbapenems have the blaOXA-48 carbapenemase gene.

Recent studies showed that brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) can participate in pathogenesis of various CNS disorders, being connected with proliferation, differentiation, and survival of neurons. In present study, analysis of occurrence rate was performed for three single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) located in BDNF gene (rs6267 (A/G) allele A-0.265; rs2049046 (A/T) allele A-0.407; rs11030107 (A/G) allele A-0.872) in randomized selection of Moscow citizens. Linkage disequilibrium of rs6165 and rs2049046 loci was shown. Differences in allele frequencies in studied selection and populations of other re- gions were discovered.

When hardness of water is less than 2.2 mg-eq/l the concentration of arsenic of 0.05 mg/l and aluminum of 0.5 mg/l are regarded as threshold. Subthreshold levels do not exceed 0.01 and 0.1 mg/l, respectively. Silicon concentration of 25 mg/l is absolutely safe when using water with hardness of less than 2.5 mg-eq/l.
