[Analysis of retinal fibers. Technics, preliminary results]. / Analyse des fibres rétiniennes. Techniques, resultats préliminaires.

Nerve fiber of 100 eyes were studied. The appearance of the nerve fiber layer was evaluated independently from black and white monochromatic photographs (440, 470, 500, 535, 590 nm) and by color photographs. The results are discussed according to the data of the literature.

[Role of polarized light in the formation of images in the fundus of the eye. Preliminary results of a study of 130 cases]. / Analyse du role de la lumière polarisée dans la formation des images du fond d'oeil. Résultats préliminaires d'une étude comportant 130 observations.

On a basis of a series of a 130 color photographies registered under polarized light, we have studied the respective part of mass reflexions and of diffusions on the formation of fundus images. The results show that the retina is the main centre of mass reflexions which disappear in polarized light. The pigment (hemoglobin, melanin, etc...) become the main factors of the formation of fundus images. We conclude on the risks of errors which can be done by extrapolating the informations given by photography to assess the action of photocoagulation.
