RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Breast cancer is among the most common malignancies worldwide. With progress in treatment methods and levels, the overall survival period has been prolonged, and the demand for quality care has increased. AIM: To investigate the effect of individualized and continuous care intervention in patients with breast cancer. METHODS: Two hundred patients with breast cancer who received systemic therapy at The First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University (January 2021 to July 2023) were retrospectively selected as research participants. Among them, 134 received routine care intervention (routing group) and 66 received personalized and continuous care (intervention group). Self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), self-rating depression scale (SDS), and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Breast (FACT-B) scores, including limb shoulder joint activity, complication rate, and care satisfaction, were compared between both groups after care. RESULTS: SAS and SDS scores were lower in the intervention group than in the routing group at one and three months after care. The total FACT-B scores and five dimensions in the intervention group were higher than those in the routing group at three months of care. The range of motion of shoulder anteflexion, posterior extension, abduction, internal rotation, and external rotation in the intervention group was higher than that in the routing group one month after care. The incidence of postoperative complications was 18.18% lower in the intervention group than in the routing group (34.33%; P <0.05). Satisfaction with care was 90.91% higher in the intervention group than in the routing group (78.36%; P <0.05). CONCLUSION: Personalized and continuous care can alleviate negative emotions in patients with breast cancer, quicken rehabilitation of limb function, decrease the incidence of complications, and improve living quality and care satisfaction.

RESUMO

Objective: To explore the establishment of an objective, standardised and operable comprehensive evaluation and assessment system for clinical nurses based on the support of an information technology platform and to realise the assessment management of tier nurses before and after promotion. Methods: By reviewing the literature and combining the findings with the actual situation of nursing work in hospitals, the clinical nurse comprehensive evaluation assessment criteria were designed and assessed for nurses at different levels in terms of their medical ethics, attendance, performance, theoretical study, professional skills and teaching and then supported by the information technology platform to achieve timely and quick assessment. Results: In 2021, 999 nurses out of the 1037 clinical nurses in our institution completed the assessment. Overall, 888 passed the assessment, 111 failed, and 38 did not complete the assessment due to various reasons. Moreover, 367 nurses were promoted based on the comprehensive evaluation assessment results, and the 111 nurses who failed the assessment had their promotion delayed in accordance with the regulations. Conclusion: The assessment indexes of the clinical nurse comprehensive evaluation assessment system are objective, scientific and operable. They could be used as the basis for nurse promotion and assessment management after promotion and could become a powerful aid for nurse promotion management to realise closed-loop management of nurse hierarchy. The support of information platform makes the operation of the assessment system faster and more convenient and improves the management efficiency.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To observe the efficacy of acupoint thread-embedding combined with fluticasone propionate aerosol for chronic persistent bronchial asthma of lung-spleen qi deficiency and spleen-kidney yang deficiency in children and its effect on pulmonary function and serum levels of IgA and IgE. METHODS: A total of 120 children with chronic persistent bronchial asthma were randomly divided into an observation group (60 cases, 9 cases dropped off) and a control group (60 cases, 7 cases dropped off). The control group was treated with fluticasone propionate aerosol (125 µg per inhalation), twice a day; based on the control group treatment, the observation group was treated with acupoint thread-embedding at Dingchuan (EX-B 1), Feishu (BL 13), Zusanli (ST 36) and Danzhong (CV 17), once half a month. Both groups were treated for 3 months. The pulmonary function, serum IgA, IgE levels and TCM symptom score were compared between the two groups before and after treatment, and the clinical efficacy was evaluated. RESULTS: After treatment, the large airway function (peak expiratory flow [PEF], forced expiratory volume at the first second [FEV1]) and small airway function (maximal expiratory flow at 25% of the forced capacity [MEF25%], maximal expiratory flow at 50% of the forced capacity [MEF50%], maximal expiratory flow at 75% of the forced capacity [MEF75%] and midexpiratory flow 25%-75% [MEF25%-75%]) were higher than those before treatment (P<0.05), and the pulmonary function in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the serum IgA levels in the two groups were higher than those before treatment (P<0.05), and the serum IgE levels and TCM symptom scores were lower than those before treatment (P<0.05); the serum IgA level in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05), and the serum IgE level and TCM symptom score in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The total effective rate was 94.1% (48/51) in the observation group, which was higher than 88.7% (47/53) in the control group (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Acupoint thread-embedding combined with fluticasone propionate aerosol could improve the pulmonary function, TCM symptoms and serum IgA and IgE levels in children with chronic persistent bronchial asthma of lung-spleen qi deficiency and spleen-kidney yang deficiency. The curative effect is better than fluticasone propionate aerosol alone.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND Leukemia is common in aging adults and has very high mortality worldwide. The present study was designed to investigate the therapeutic efficacy of miR-18a inhibitor against WEHI-3 and THP-1 leukemia cells. MATERIAL AND METHODS The changes in miR-18a inhibitor-transfected WEHI-3 and THP-1 cell proliferative potential was measured by use of the Cell Counting Kit-8 assay. Apoptotic changes were analyzed by electron microscopy, and evaluation of PI3K, AKT, mTOR, and PTEN expression was assessed by RT-qPCR assay. RESULTS Transfection of miR-18a inhibitor significantly (P<0.05) suppressed the proliferative potential of WEHI-3 and THP-1 cells. The WEHI-3 cells showed the presence of characteristic apoptotic bodies on transfection with miR-18a inhibitor at 48 h. Flow cytometry showed that miR-18a inhibitor transfection significantly (P<0.05) increased the WEHI-3 cell percentage in G1 phase. The transfection of miR-18a inhibitor significantly (P<0.05) promoted apoptosis in WEHI-3 cells. In WEHI-3 cells, miR-18a inhibitor transfection markedly suppressed the expression of PI3K, AKT, and mTOR mRNA. The expression of PTEN mRNA was significantly (P<0.05) upregulated by miR-18a inhibitor transfection in WEHI-3 cells. CONCLUSIONS The present study investigated the therapeutic efficacy of miR-18a inhibitor against WEHI-3 and THP1 leukemia cells. The study demonstrated that miR-18a inhibitor suppressed the proliferative potential of WEHI-3 and THP1 cells and activated apoptotic process through upregulation of PTEN mRNA expression. Therefore, miR-18a inhibitor can be of therapeutic importance for the treatment of leukemia.
