RESUMO
Activities of glutathione-dependent enzymes and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (GPDH) were studied in blood of the patients with lymphosarcoma (LS). The activity of glutathione reductase (GR), glutathione dehydroascorbate reductase (GDAR), gamma-glutamyltranspeptidase (GGT) and G6PDH in plasma, leucocytes, lymphocytes and erythrocytes of peripheral blood in 30 patients (42-56 years) with LS and in 20 healthy have been determined with spectrophotometric methods (Humalyzer 2000 DE). Leucocytes and lymphocytes were separated from blood using Boyum method. Spearmen method used for correlative analysis. The levels of enzymes activity and results of correlative analysis showed an imbalance of antioxidative system defense and metabolic disturbances in patients with LS. The strong functional interrelation was estimated only between GR and G6PDH in the patients' lymphocytes (r=+0,716; p<0.0005). Interrelation was found between the levels of activity of antioxidative enzymes and activity (stage) of pathologic process, this may be used as the additional biochemical test for differential diagnostics of LS and estimation of the cells proliferative activity.

The peculiar features of the clinical course and treatment of primary gastric MALT-lymphoma in 7 patients are discussed. Diagnosis was established by morphological examination of resected material. Six patients had low-grade tumor while one showed signs of blast-transformation. Stage IEB disease was identified in 4 cases, IIEB--3. Complete remission duration after combined surgical and chemoradiation treatment ranged 3.5-80 months (mean duration--35.1 months), survival--5-84 months (mean duration--43.1 months). Relapse was registered in one case 3.5 months after operation.

Clinico-morphological correlations in non-Hodgkin's splenic lymphomas (NHL) have shown that a clinical course and hematological symptoms of splenic NHL correlate with a morphological variant of disease. Blast forms have a more aggressive course. Data on the clinical pathomorphosis of splenic NHL after splenectomy suggest the necessity of administration of postoperative chemo- and radiotherapy for induction of complete remission and improvement of long term therapeutic results.

The authors present the results of the COP therapy of 85 patients with generalized lymphoblastic and immunoblastic lymphosarcomas. Antirelapse therapy with cyclophosphamide and reinduction courses according to the COP scheme and COP reinduction courses only increase the period of remission. A necessity of antirelapse therapy after achieving a complete remission is substantiated.

A case of malignant histiocytosis in a man of 32 is described. The diseases had a rapid course, showed marked signs of intoxication, generalized lymphadenopathy, hepatomegaly, jaundice, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia. Specific infiltration with atypic histiocytes with phagocytosis of erythrocytes and their debris, leukocytes, and lipids was found in the lymph nodes, skin, bone marrow, liver, kidneys, heart muscle, and along the lung blood vessels. The final diagnosis of malignant histiocytosis is established by histological examination of the affected tissues (most frequently, lymph nodes).

The relationship of pregnancy and the course of Hodgkin's disease is discussed on the basis of 30 cases. 16 femalles became pregnant during complete remission: in 10 out of them, remission followed radical radiation therapy. Hodgkin's disease was diagnosed during pregnancy in 11 cases and within the first several weeks after delivery in 3 cases. The course of pregnancy and delivery were normal in all cases and the babies were normal, too. Pregnancy aggravated the disease during exacerbation period only. In most females who became pregnant during remission exacerbation was not observed. It is concluded that pregnancy and birth are not contraindicated in patients with local stage I--II Hodgkin's disease two years after the beginning of remission. Pregnancy is contraindicated during exacerbation period, irrespective of tumor stage.

Under study is the incidence of nonlymphogranulomatous lymphomas in the Moldavian SSR for a 10-year period depending on sex, age and nationality. Nonlymphogranulomatous lymphomas are more frequently observed among the urban population, and more often in males, the age peak among persons of both sex being over 60. There is a tendency to the increased incidence of this affection. It may be due to a longer patients' survival as a result of introducing some new more effective methods of treatment for the given lesion.

Based on the analysis of the literature data and personal authors' observations, the clinico-morphological signs of sinus histiocytosis are described. Also, the kinetics of the disease and a histological picture of the involved lymph nodes are shown at different stages of the process development. The necessity of lymph nodes biopsy in all cases suspicious of malignant lymphoma is emphasized.
