RESUMO

The attempt is undertaken to determine the possibilities of the dysplasia cytological diagnosis taking as an example the gynecological smears, smears-prints of the gastrobiopsies and mammary gland punctures. The difficulties are noted with which the cytologist is faced. The correctness of the cytological diagnosis "epithelial proliferation with atypia" and the possibilities of using the term "severe dysplasia" in the pronounced epithelial cells alterations, signs of their disordered differentiation is pointed out.

RESUMO

Using their own and literature data the authors recommend that malignant epithelial renal tumors be termed as "renal carcinoma" or "renal cell carcinoma". The term "hypernephroid carcinoma" which is of only historical importance may be used as a synonym of clear cell renal carcinoma. Designation of all forms of renal carcinoma by the general term "renal adenocarcinoma" does not reflect all the diversity of structure of malignant epithelial renal tumors. This term may be used only in those cases where the "glandular" structure of the tumor is adequately evident. Four main forms of renal carcinoma may be distinguished according to the predominant morphological characteristics: clear-cell, granular-cell spindle-cell (sarcoma-like), and glandular (adenocarcinoma proper). According to the authors' data, 41% of renal carcinomas are represented by mixed forms.

RESUMO

The data are reaorted on the distribution of the DNA content in cell nuclei of normal human mammary gland, in benign processes, cancer and its metastases in regional lymphnodes by the method of impulse cytophotometry. In benign processes the distribution of DNA in epithelial cells was not shown to differ from the control, however, in some cases there is an increased proliferative activity of the epithelium. Cytophotometrical structure of human breast cancer in general traits reflects the pattern of DNA distribution in them. A tumor consisting of monomorphous elements more frequently shows one type of tumor cells with a different degree of their proliferative activity. The presence of large number of anaplastic cells would correspond to the peaks of anaeploid and polyploid cells on DNA-histograms. A correlation between the DNA content in epithelial cell nuclei of the primary tumor and its metastases in regional lymph nodes was found to remain in the uniform cytologic picture.

RESUMO

Based on a correlation of the results of cytological and histological assays in 1213 patients, the authors have analysed the correct and erroneous verifications of the cancer pattern according to cytological preparations. Under consideration are the possibilities and limitations of the cytological verification of different histological patterns and degree of differentiation of cancer of the lung, stomach, breast and thyroid. Standard cytological conclusions in accordance with the suggested cytological classifications of cancer of these organs are discussed.

RESUMO

A detailed parallel histo-cytological investigation of 100 observations on renal cell carcinoma showed that these tumours had a various macro- and microscopic structure. For the substantiation of correct diagnosis material should be taken from several places of the tumour of different microscopic structure. In diagnosis all detected variants of the structure of the tumour and the degree of cellular anaplasia should be mentioned. A clear-cell variant in the pure form was revealed in 52% of cases, other one-type variants were very rare (7%). In tumours of a mixed structure (41%) there were observed various combinations of all the variants occurring in the order: clear-cell, granular-cell, sarcoma-like, glandular. Collation of Histological and cytological data showed that in the overwhelming majority of cases (97%) there was a complete coincidence in determination of the morphological type of renal cell carcinoma.
