RESUMO
Insufficient effectiveness of medicamentous therapy of local hyperkineses necessitated quest for other treatment options. In view of pathogenetic features of this pathological process we have chosen reflexotherapy to be instituted in our patients: auriculopuncture, electro-corporal- and acupuncture which have been shown to be expedient and effective in treating 65 patients with local hyperkinesis (blepharospasm, facial paraspasm, writer's spasm, spasmodic torticollis). Positive findings from clinical and paraclinical methods of investigation corroborate the results of the treatments administered.

Shown in the paper is a novel complex approach to the treatment of occlusion affections of arteries by He-Ne and infrared laseropuncture. As many as 80 patients having a history of the above health problem 5 years in duration were kept under medical supervision. Patient age ranged between 50 to 78 years. Laseropuncture was carried out with the aid of the infrared laser stimulator [symbol: see text]-001 (wavelenth 0.89 mm with continuous-wave pulse operation, pulse power 8 W) and 111 He-Ne laser (wavelength 0.63 mm, power density 5 mW/cm2, spot diameter 25 mm). 88.2 percent of patients derived apparent therapeutic benefit, 11.8 percent demonstrating a satisfactory clinical effect.

The paper focuses on particular features of laser radiation versus usual (thermal) source of electromagnetic radiation. Data are presented on laser radiation effects on living objects; significance of length of exposure to the laser beam is shown together with that of spectral parameters of radiations.

Described in the paper are methods of electropuncture diagnosis (Nakatani methods, auricular diagnosis, Foll's method). An algorithm of examination with making use of the above methods is suggested. A combination is validated of methods of electropuncture diagnosis in a comprehensive evaluation of those patients presenting with affections of the nervous system.

A study was made on effects of EHF-radiation on man. The study was conducted in 40 volunteers who ranged from 20 to 30 years old using the EHF-apparatus "Yav-I" (wavelength 7.1 mm, wattage 5 mW/cm2). As a result of 50 min exposure to EHF-radiation of the area of the GI(II)4 acupuncture point in EEG study a rearrangement has been recorded of cortical rhythm patterns characteristic of a healthy man, that suggested the development of an unspecific reaction of activation such as increase in the tone of the brain cortex. In the investigation designed to study indication of EHF EMF, it has been shown that a field with the above parameters is recognized by 78 percent of examinees.

The conducted dynamic rheovasographic investigations in 67 patients with neurological manifestations of lumbosacral osteochondrosis as well as determination of skin temperature in 162 patients, and employment of stimulation electromyography in 40 patients showed the presence of definite positive shifts (P < 0.001) both in patients with lumboischialgia and in those with the radicular pain syndrome, which fact was evidenced by the clinical data suggesting to us the feasibility of use of osteoperiostal electropuncture combined with laseropuncture with infrared radiation.

The effect of amiloride, 2- and 4-aminopyridines, tetraethylammonium, guanidine on proton-induced membrane permeability was investigated in perfused neurons from rat trigeminal ganglia. When applied externally these substances produced a rapid and reversible blocking action on the inwardly directed proton-induced current. The degree of blocking increased with hyperpolarization and with a decrease in the intracellular concentration of permeable cations. The initially linear current-voltage relationship became nonlinear. Amyloride with effective concentrations between 10(-6)-10(-4) M was the most potent blocker among the substances tested.

Steady-state properties of proton-activated Na+ permeability in the membrane of rat sensory neurons have been investigated under conditions of intracellular perfusion and voltage clamp. The desensitization of this mechanism is found to develop at weakly basic pH levels (pKa 7.15). The desensitization is highly cooperative: its Hill coefficient is close to 7, while for activation it is about 2. Divalent cations (Ca2+ and Mg2+) complete with protons by changing corresponding pKa both for activation and desensitization without affecting the Hill coefficient.
