RESUMO

The article presents the results of analysis of 482 forensic biological and forensic cytological expertises on cases of sexual crimes. A presence of different types of such crimes has been noted. Expertises' effectiveness when examining content of vagina, oral cavity and rectum, impression smears and lavages from suspects' genital organs, subungual content of victims and suspects and other objects has been determined. The dependence of expertises' effectiveness on the terms of object removal has been noted. The article presents a number of objects' examination methods (luminescent-microscopic spermatozoids' identification, diagnosis of cells origin from mucous membranes of the vagina and oral cavity, determination of group belonging of specific cells in specimens, diagnosis of fecal masses presence) allowing to improve expertises' quality.

RESUMO

The objective of the present cytological study was to elucidate the possibility of examining epidermal scales (ES) for the purpose of forensic medical expertise of material evidence. It was demonstrated that epidermal scales readily removable and constantly detached from the skin during the process of desquamation may remain on the instruments of injury and other objects even after their short-term contact with the human body or as a result of touching these objects with the hands. The epidermal scales were shown to express readily detectable AB0 antigens which makes it possible to determine the identify of the subject to whom they belonged. It is concluded that cytological studies designed to detect and identify the source of ES may be helpful for the examination of the fingernail scrapings from both the victims and the suspected offenders, instruments of injury, cigarette stubs (especially when these objects do not exhibit the traces of saliva), and the condoms containing no sperm.

RESUMO

A combination of two immunologic tests, mixed agglutination and immunofluorescence, is suggested, that permits the detection of two AB0 system antigens in the same cell within one process. Such mode better validates the conclusion on the group appurtenance of cells, for instance, in analyses of mixed stains originating from different subjects with different blood groups.

RESUMO

The epidemiological and economic effectiveness of the realization of the complex three-year (1980-1982) program for the control of influenza in Perm is shown. The coverage of 46-51% of the city population, including working people, pensioners and children, with immunization carried out with the use of live and inactivated vaccines made it possible to decrease morbidity rate 2.12 times in comparison with the average data for many years. The greatest effect was achieved at large industrial enterprises where, simultaneously with vaccination covering 90% of the employees, urgent prophylaxis with remantadin and the early treatment of influenza patients were carried out. Due to these measures the morbidity rate and the number of disability days per 100 employees decreased 3-6 times.

RESUMO

Beef heart cAMP phosphodiesterase (EC 3.1.4.17) was isolated and partially purified using fractionation by ammonium sulfate and gel filtration on the columns with Sephadex G-200 and Sepharose 6B. This method allowed to preserve the enzyme binding to the low-molecular weight thermostable protein regulator of the phosphodiesterase activity. The enzyme preparation was purified 130--180-fold as compared to the original homogenate. The pH-dependence of the enzyme activity in the imidazole and tris -- buffers for the fraction with maximal activity was carried out. The kinetic analysis of this fraction revealed an abnormal kinetic behaviour with two Km values. The enzyme is represented by four forms differing in their molecular weights and possessing different capacity for activation by Ca2+ and protein regulator. No activation was observed in the forms with higher molecular weights, whereas the activity of the forms with lower molecular weights depended on the presence of Ca2+ and protein regulator. It is assumed that some of the above-described forms are capable of interconversions.
