RESUMO
Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) that involve the mandible are difficult lesions to treat, with traditional options being surgery and embolization. This article describes a large mandibular AVM that was treated with embolization using transarterial as well as direct puncture approaches. Follow-up imaging showed thrombosis of the vascular spaces of the malformation. There were no complications. The patient is doing well and is on follow-up.

Hemobilia is one of the complications that can occur after a transjugular liver biopsy. Various treatment options have been described for the management of this condition, including transarterial embolization and open surgery. We describe a patient who developed uncontrolled hemobilia after a transjugular liver biopsy that required a transvenous approach for embolization and treatment purposes.

Surgery is considered to be the treatment of choice for vascular injuries caused by trauma. However, endovascular techniques are emerging as an alternative means of treatment. In this article, we describe three patients with posttraumatic arteriovenous fistulae in different body regions that were managed using endovascular techniques. Each case had its unique set of associated problems requiring innovative methods and a multidisciplinary approach. While the short-term results are encouraging, long-term follow-up of posttraumatic arteriovenous fistulae that have been treated with endovascular techniques is still required.
