RESUMO

The article considers the measured values of the level of MMP-1, MMP-8 and MMP-9, and of their tissue inhibitor Type I (TIMP-1) in the blood serum and mixed saliva samples of 78 patients (31 women - 36.2 %, 47 men - 63.8 %) suffering from odontogenic phlegmons in the oral and maxillofacial region. The study indicators were assessed through the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay using diagnostic sets RandD Diagnostics Inc. (USA). An uncontrolled hyperactivation of metal proteinases as one of the components of the systemic inflammatory response in case of phlegmon-related complications in the oral and maxillofacial region, as well as development of the sepsis syndrome were studied and it was determined that it results in distortion of the processes of reparative hystogeny and compel us to employ new approaches to the treatment of this type of patients (Tab. 2, Fig. 1, Ref. 13).

RESUMO

The results of the study on the influence of carbon dioxide baths differing in the total mineralization levels on the clinical course of hypertensive disease associated with coronary heart disease and on various functional systems of the body. The data obtained provide an insight into the role of salt concentrations (10 and 20 g/l) in carbon dioxide bath water (1.2 g/l) applied for the traditional treatment of the patients with hypertensive disease associated with concomitant coronary heart disease and musculoskeletal pathology. Highly mineralized bath water has a greater influence on the functional state of the cardiovascular system by causing a more pronounced decrease in peripheral vascular resistance and hypotensive effect. Baths with a salt concentration of 20 g/l markedly reduced pain and had anti-inflammatory effect in the patients with pathology of support and locomotor organs.

RESUMO

Psychorelaxation therapy based on the biological feedback was given to 43 patients after coronary artery bypass operation. 45 patients after this operation served control. One-month and one-year follow-up showed that patients of the study group had positive changes in the psychological status, they became less depressed and neurotic. Those who completed the course of psychorelaxation therapy exhibited higher performance and quality of life.

RESUMO

Among cardiovascular diseases registered in the Chernobyl wreckers neurocirculatory dystonia and hypertension occur most frequently. Combined treatment including electric sleep, iodinebromine baths, therapeutic exercise, massage relieves clinical symptoms, promotes positive rearrangement of hemodynamics, a decrease in myocardial hyperkinesis and vegetative dysfunction, an increase in cardiovascular reserves, correction of hypersympathicotonia and immune disorders.

RESUMO

The studies in postmyocardial infarction patients have shown that underwater massage is an effective method of conditioning of the above patients in outpatient setting. Its positive action on cardiovascular system has improved clinical condition of 70% of those treated. Episodes of angina pectoris disappeared or became less frequent, the pains attenuated, exercise tolerance enhanced. 66.7% of the patients retained the effect for 6 months, 53.3% for 12 months. The results obtained allowed the authors to recommend underwater massage as an effective rehabilitation method for early and late management of postmyocardial infarction outpatients.

RESUMO

Intravital microscopy was used to study the microcirculatory bed of the lungs during application of histamine after righthand vagotomy. It was discovered that responses occurring at that level during histamine application after intersection of the right vagus were not equivalent to those when the biologically active substance was used in intact animals. Application of histamine without intersection of the nerve was characterized by aggravation of microcirculatory disorders in the lungs as the drug concentration was raised. The reverse was observed in cases where histamine was applied after righthand vagotomy. In this case the most significant alterations in the microcirculatory bed were recorded after local use of low doses of histamine. Besides, the duration of their occurrence was more prolonged as compared to that seen during histamine application in intact animals.

RESUMO

The authors suggest a method of biomicroscopy of the lungs with the use of a modified experimental lung fixator offering a possibility of carrying out vital examination of microcirculation of the lung tissue not only in artificial, but also in spontaneous respiration of the animals.
