RESUMO

This work presents the design of a polymer-film-based sensor for gas detection. Different types of polyaniline are used as active layers. The advantages of resistive sensors with PANI layers are easy preparation and low production cost. At room temperature, polymer films have a high sensitivity to gas concentrations. The developed sensor works on the idea of electrical resistance shifting with gas concentration. Three different polymerization solutions are employed to synthesize the polyaniline (PANI) active layers (aqueous solution, sulfuric acid solution, and acetic acid solution). Active layers are evaluated in a controlled environment for their ability to detect ammonia, carbon monoxide, nitrogen monoxide, acetone, toluene, and relative humidity in synthetic air. PANI layers polymerized in acetic acid solutions exhibit good sensitivity toward ammonia.

RESUMO

The selective detection of ammonia (NH3), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), carbon oxides (CO2 and CO), acetone ((CH3)2CO), and toluene (C6H5CH3) is investigated by means of a gas sensor array based on polyaniline nanocomposites. The array composed by seven different conductive sensors with composite sensing layers are measured and analyzed using machine learning. Statistical tools, such as principal component analysis and linear discriminant analysis, are used as dimensionality reduction methods. Five different classification methods, namely k-nearest neighbors algorithm, support vector machine, random forest, decision tree classifier, and Gaussian process classification (GPC) are compared to evaluate the accuracy of target gas determination. We found the Gaussian process classification model trained on features extracted from the data by principal component analysis to be a highly accurate method reach to 99% of the classification of six different gases.

Microstructured single- and double-layered sensor devices based on p-type hydrogen-terminated nanocrystalline diamond (NCD) films and/or n-type ZnO nanorods (NRs) have been obtained via a facile microwave-plasma-enhanced chemical vapour deposition process or a hydrothermal growth procedure. The morphology and crystal structure of the synthesized materials was analysed with scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction measurements and Raman spectroscopy. The gas sensing properties of the sensors based on i) NCD films, ii) ZnO nanorods, and iii) hybrid ZnO NRs/NCD structures were evaluated with respect to oxidizing (i.e., NO2, CO2) and reducing (i.e., NH3) gases at 150 °C. The hybrid ZnO NRs/NCD sensor showed a remarkably enhanced NO2 response compared to the ZnO NRs sensor. Further, inspired by this special hybrid structure, the simulation of interaction between the gas molecules (NO2 and CO2) and hybrid ZnO NRs/NCD sensor was studied using DFT calculations.

RESUMO

We have prepared a full series of 1,6-anhydro-2,3,4-trideoxy-4-fluoro-2,3-epimino-beta-d-hexopyranoses. The key step was the reaction of azido sulfonates possessing a free C-4 hydroxyl with DAST and subsequent LiAlH(4) reduction. Nucleophilic displacement of the hydroxyl activated by DAST proceeded without rearrangement and with moderate to good yields. A convenient synthesis of d-mannoepimine from a readily available 3-benzylamino derivative was also developed.

RESUMO

Twelve positional isomers of diamino pseudodisaccharide derivatives with gluco-gluco configuration have been prepared using aziridine-ring cleavage of epimino derivatives of 1,6-anhydro-beta-D-hexopyranoses of the D-allo, D-manno, and D-galacto configuration by 2-, 3-, and 4-amino derivatives of 1,6-anhydro-beta-D-glucopyranose. The N-substitution of the aziridine ring by a 2-nitrobenzenesulfonyl group and ionic-liquid solvent (N-methylpyridinium tosylate) was used to obtain cleavage products in high yield (64-93%). The cleavage reactions proceeded according to the Fürst-Plattner rule and only trans-diaxial stereoisomers were formed.

RESUMO

Starting from 1,6-anhydro-beta-d-glucopyranose 1 (levoglucosan), N-o-nitrobenzenesulfonyl (nosyl) 3,4-epimino derivatives with d-allo, d-galacto, and d-talo configurations have been prepared via NaBH(4) reduction of suitably substituted azido tosylates. The benefits and limitations of this method over the classical LiAlH(4) reduction method are discussed.

RESUMO

The aziridine ring cleavage of N-nosylepimines 3 and 7 having D-allo and D-manno configurations with halides led regioselectively to N-o-nitrobenzenesulfonylated 2-halo-3-amino- and 3-halo-2-amino-2,3-dideoxy derivatives of 1,6-anhydro-beta-D-glucopyranose 8-14 in 59-81% yields. Removal of o-nitrobenzenesulfonyl protecting group with benzenethiol afforded aminosaccharides, which were converted into more stable hydrochlorides 15-18.
