RESUMO

To better respond to the strategic goals of "carbon peaking" and "carbon neutrality," businesses are collaborating with suppliers and customers to jointly promote green and environmentally friendly practices to increase economic benefits, enhance social reputation, and improve environmental competitiveness while achieving environmental performance. Currently, some theoretical achievements in the field of green supply chain integration have been made. Nevertheless, systematic retrospective research needs to be improved to help us fully understand the status of research in China and elsewhere. Therefore, this article analyzed the concept of green supply chain integration using eight years of data (from 2014 to 2021) from a small and medium-sized environmental company1 and divided the concept into four systems: the water cycle system (H2O), renewable energy system (CaCl2), carbon peak system (CO2), and carbon-neutral system (CO2). These four systems were analyzed with regard to internal green integration, green supplier integration, and green customer integration, and the Scheffé method was used to analyze the impact of these four systems on corporate ecological impact and financial and social sustainability. The study also verified that the intensity of sunlight on solar panels is significantly affected by environmental temperature (ET), carbon neutrality, and the electricity generated by solar panels. The impact of carbon pricing was also explored using the probability density function (PDF) method. The contribution of this research lies in the fact that it provides evidence that solar energy can help reduce the use of fossil fuels, reducing demand for the carbon quota market. This can help lower carbon prices, thereby encouraging more businesses and countries to participate in carbon neutrality and emission reduction actions. In addition, solar power systems can replace renewable energy sources, making the carbon quota market more diverse and stable. Carbon pricing options can be used to manage the risks and uncertainties related to carbon pricing policies, and policy-makers can use them to develop appropriate risk management strategies.

RESUMO

In mass spectrometry (MS) experiments, more than thousands of peaks are detected in the space of mass-to-charge ratio and chromatographic retention time, each associated with an abundance measurement. However, a large proportion of the peaks consists of experimental noise and low abundance compounds are typically masked by noise peaks, compromising the quality of the data. In this paper, we propose a new measure of similarity between a pair of MS experiments, called truncated rank correlation (TRC). To provide a robust metric of similarity in noisy high-dimensional data, TRC uses truncated top ranks (or top m-ranks) for calculating correlation. A comprehensive numerical study suggests that TRC outperforms traditional sample correlation and Kendall's τ. We apply TRC to measuring test-retest reliability of two MS experiments, including biological replicate analysis of the metabolome in HEK293 cells and metabolomic profiling of benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) patients. An R package trc of the proposed TRC and related functions is available at https://sites.google.com/site/dhyeonyu/software.

RESUMO

Sixty peony root training samples of the same age were collected from various regions in Korea and China, and their genetic diversity was investigated for 23 chloroplast intergenic space regions. All samples were genetically indistinguishable, indicating that the DNA-based techniques employed were not appropriate for determining the samples' regions of origin. In contrast, (1)H-nuclear magnetic resonance ((1)H-NMR) spectroscopy-based metabolomics coupled with multivariate statistical analysis revealed a clear difference between the metabolic profiles of the Korean and Chinese samples. Orthogonal projections on the latent structure-discrimination analysis allowed the identification of potential metabolite markers, including γ-aminobutyric acid, arginine, alanine, paeoniflorin, and albiflorin, that could be useful for classifying the samples' regions of origin. The validity of the discrimination model was tested using the response permutation test and blind prediction test for internal and external validations, respectively. Metabolomic data of 21 blended samples consisting of Korean and Chinese samples mixed at various proportions were also acquired by (1)H-NMR analysis. After data preprocessing which was designed to eliminate uncontrolled deviations in the spectral data between the testing and training sets, a new statistical procedure for estimating the mixing proportions of blended samples was established using the constrained least squares method for the first time. The predictive procedure exhibited relatively good predictability (adjusted R (2) = 0.7669), and thus has the potential to be used in the quality control of peony root by providing correct indications for a sample's geographical origins.

RESUMO

An important objective in mass spectrometry (MS) is to identify a set of biomarkers that can be used to potentially distinguish patients between distinct treatments (or conditions) from tens or hundreds of spectra. A common two-step approach involving peak extraction and quantification is employed to identify the features of scientific interest. The selected features are then used for further investigation to understand underlying biological mechanism of individual protein or for development of genomic biomarkers to early diagnosis. However, the use of inadequate or ineffective peak detection and peak alignment algorithms in peak extraction step may lead to a high rate of false positives. Also, it is crucial to reduce the false positive rate in detecting biomarkers from ten or hundreds of spectra. Here a new procedure is introduced for feature extraction in mass spectrometry data that extends the continuous wavelet transform-based (CWT-based) algorithm to multiple spectra. The proposed multispectra CWT-based algorithm (MCWT) not only can perform peak detection for multiple spectra but also carry out peak alignment at the same time. The author' MCWT algorithm constructs a reference, which integrates information of multiple raw spectra, for feature extraction. The algorithm is applied to a SELDI-TOF mass spectra data set provided by CAMDA 2006 with known polypeptide m/z positions. This new approach is easy to implement and it outperforms the existing peak extraction method from the Bioconductor PROcess package.

RESUMO

A descriptive correlational study was designed to examine the relationships between boundary ambiguity, coping strategies and depression in mothers caring for children with epilepsy. A total of 316 mothers were recruited from three medical centers in Taiwan. A pilot study established the reliability and validity of the Chinese language version of the Coping Health Inventory for Parents (CHIP). Results showed that boundary ambiguity was negatively associated with the total score by CHIP for family coping patterns I and II. In addition, family coping patterns I, II, and III were negatively associated with depression in the mothers. These results provide insight into family stress management strategies that are unique to these mothers and are associated with the relationships between boundary ambiguity, family coping patterns and outcome. The results also suggest methods to improve family centered nursing intervention, which may help mothers to establish effective interactions with their epileptic children as well as develop for them effective coping patterns to manage family stress.
