RESUMO
The duly hypocaloric intragastric nutrition is more portable and convenient to adapt in depressed consciousness patients of the intensive care unit (ICU). Daily caloric content of 16-19 kcal/kg does not allow to save the patient from significant protein losses that can be shown by serum albumin decreasing even in already restored peroral feeding. But there are no the certificated laboratory methods to indicate inadequate nutrition in due time. It is necessary to return to aprioristic taking the normocaloric feeding as the basis nutrition support of patients in ICU.

Transfusion of ultraviolet-irradiated autologous blood in women delivered by cesarean section and grade I and II anemia has improved their postoperative course, blood concentration, transcutaneous oxygen tension, hemostasis and fibrinolytic activation responses. The transfusion produced a more marked improvement as compared with iron drugs and packed erythrocyte transfusion.

A case of management of a 10-month-old baby suffering from generalized eczema is described. The following methods used for active therapy-- tissue detoxication, hemosorption, thoracic duct drainage with lymphorrhea, lymphapheresis and lymphosorption and lymph cells removal from the body have led to a stable positive effect, i.e. skin lesion healing, disappearance of pneumonia, disseminated vascular coagulation syndrome and hepatic-renal failure. The baby has been followed up for 4 years, no relapses of the disease have been observed.

Hemosorption on thromboresistant ion-exchange resins synthetized at D. I. Mendeleev Moscow Chemical Technological Institute (MCTI) was used in combined therapy of hepatic failure. Use was made of anion-exchange resin A-I-II MCTI, catonit C-I-II MCTI, polyampholit. Stability of hemodynamic parameters, absence of blood element disturbances, effective sampling of anionic and cationic metabolites have been observed.

Using the technique developed by the authors, 279 sessions of ultraviolet autoblood irradiation were performed in 93 patients with complicated infectious pathology. 90 patients with the same pathology constituted the control group. All the patients were treated pathogenetically and etiotropically for toxicoseptic pathology, using current schemes based on correction of clinical-biochemical alterations. In the test group one session of ultraviolet autoblood irradiation was performed once daily for 3 days. The data obtained show positive dynamics of the disease in patients after quantum ultraviolet autohemotherapy and a considerable decrease in lethality and the time of the patient's stay in intensive care unit.
