RESUMO
A new thioether-rich ligand with a conjugated dienyne backbone and its fluorescent Ag(I) coordination networks have been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies, which reveal that the supramolecular architectures of the networks contain assembled helicates with thioether sites.
RESUMO
Polythia conjugated dieneyne 1,1,2,5,6,6-hexakis(phenylthio)-1,5-diene-3-yne and its one- and two-dimensional silver(I) coordination polymers, which exhibited fluorescence and redox properties, were prepared and investigated.
RESUMO
Liquid and supercritical carbon dioxide swell potassium carboxylate perfluoropolyether (PFPE-K) cylindrical micelles in water to produce novel CO(2)-in-water (C/W) microemulsions. The swelling elongates the micelles significantly from 20 to 80 nm as the molar ratio of CO(2) in the micelles to surfactant (R(CO2)) reaches approximately 8. As the micelles swell to form microemulsions, the solubility of pyrene increases by a factor of ca. 10. Fluorescence spectra suggest that pyrene resides primarily in the low-polarity micelle core rather than in the palisade region. The results illustrate the ability of C/W microemulsions to solubilize both lipophilic and fluorophilic substances simultaneously.
RESUMO
Exhaustive fluorination of deca-B-methyl-para-carborane (1) furnishes perfluoro-deca-B-methyl-para-carborane (2) almost quantitatively [Eq. (1)]. Compound 2 represents the first neutral perfluorinated sphere mimicking a "Teflon ball". The properties of 2 as well as its X-ray structure are discussed.
RESUMO
The first perfluorinated carbohydrate (sugar) has been recently synthesized by carefully controlled reactions of elemental fluorine with the carbohydrate 1,2:3,5-di-O-isopropylidene-D-xylofuranose. We have synthesized the compound perfluoro-1,2:3,5-di-O-isopropylidene-D-xylofuranose. The compound is unambiguously characterized by (19)F NMR and two-dimensional (19)F NMR.
RESUMO
Extraordinary solubility in hydrocarbons is exhibited by the novel superaggregate Li33 H17 (OtBu)16 , which crystallizes from photolyzed solutions of lithium tert-butoxide and tert-butyllithium (ROLi:RLi≥7:3). The structure of the compound (the framework of Li, H, and O atoms without tBu groups is shown on the right) resembles a disrupted lithium hydride lattice with an inner hydride-rich core and an outer shell of lipophilic tert-butoxide groups.
RESUMO
Perfluorocongressane was synthesized using elemental fluorine and characterized by mass spectra, (19)F NMR, and X-ray crystallography.
