[Cutaneous thermography in changes of the peripheral vessels in traumatological practice (author's transl)]. / Die Cutan-Thermographie bei peripheren Gefässveränderungen in der traumatologischen Praxis.

The article reports on the method of cutaneous thermography in the diagnosis of superficial thrombophlebitis, acute and chronic thrombosis of the veins and arterial occlusion, in a case material of 80 patients. Cholesterol ester foils were used. Results indicate that this method supplies valuable information on local temperature increases thanks to its rapid, simple and non-hazardous application.

Thermography with fluid crystals is an effective diagnostic aid for the differentiation between bacterial and non-bacterial inflammation i.e. for the differential diagnosis between joint damage due to overloading and irritative arthrosis. Thermography enables us to assess severity and extent of the condition and to prove the success of treatment.
