Effective concentration of antioxidants and its reactivity toward peroxil radicals (constant k7) have been measured by the chemiluminescence technique for flaxseed oil. Effective concentration of antioxidants is shown to depend on the technology of producing flaxseed oil; period of seed storage before use; and storing duration of flaxseed oil also. Minor component content of flaxseed oil, which may be the members of antioxidant pool, has been quantitatively estimated.

Immune status measured by the flow cytrometric analysis under the ischemic heart disease and IHD with impaired glucose tolerance has been found to be altered in B cells as well as in T lymphocytes in some cases. Having received the diet supplemented by PUFA "Eicolen", IHD patients present with the restored immune status. Patients with IHD and impaired glucose tolerance did not present with any significant modifications in immune status after PUFA "Eicolen" supplementation.

The data on a multiple composition of breast milk including both nutrients and factors of growth--biologically active substances of breast milk are resulted. In paper was accentuated that the solution of a problem of adequate nutrition of children during first year of life in the first place is connected to propagation of need of breast feeding, health nutrition of mother in the pregnancy period and breast feeding and also with further adaptation of breast milk substitutes with the count of physiological need of infant organism in a wide diversification macro- and micro-nutrients. In this connection it is important to take into account not only indispensable nutrients (indispensable amino acids, fatty acids, mineral substances and trace elements), but also wide quantity of trace components of milk with the expressed biological activity, indispensable for normal development of a children[symbol: see text]s organism in early age.?

The influence of lipids received from liver of king crab (Paralithodes camtschatica) and liver of pollack on some indices of immunologic status of an organism and hematologic indices in rats was studied. The animals were divided into three groups in dependence from kind of lipid in diet: the control group received in the composition of lipid component of diet--lard and sunflower oil in the ratio 1:1, the second group--lard and lipid from pollack liver (1:1), the third group--lard and lipid from crabs liver (1:1). The differences of rations concerned their lipid component. The content of triglycerides in a liver of pollack compounded--73%, in a liver of crabs--50%, the content of phospholipids in a liver of pollack--12%, in a liver of crabs it is much more--20%; the total sun of omega-3 acids in the experimental group is practically identical: 23.8 and 23.1% accordingly. Some simulate influence of lipid from liver of crabs on the quantity of antibody forming cells of a spleen was noted. The tendency to decreasing of indices of humoral immunity was founded in rats, which received diet with lipid from liver of pollack. The decrease of the quantity of lymphocytes and the increase of the quantity of eosinophilic leukocytes in a peripheral blood of animals this group was noted in comparison with control and other experimental groups.

Investigation of influence of diet with olive oil on clinical, metabolic and immune indices in patients with ischemic heart disease and hypertension was conducted. As a result of the diet modified by the lipid component positive effect on the course of the diseases and lipid spectrum of blood, pronounced action on some indices of cell immunity, intensity of processes of lipid peroxidation were observed.

The influence of essential fatty acids of mare's milk fat on the immunocompetent system and nonspecific resistance of male rats weighing 135-145 g was investigated after 6 weeks of feeding. Rats were fed with isocaloric purified diets containing 15% of test fat (in control--combination of lard and sunflower oil) which provide the ratio of omega-6/omega-3 fatty acids equal to 0.76. An increase of immune responsiveness and nonspecific resistance in the group fed with the diet with mare's milk fat on day 6 after a single immunization of the animals with 5% sheep erythrocyte suspension was noted.

135 pediatric patients receiving hypoallergic diet were included into the study group. The control group consisted of 20 children. The impact of PUFA omega-3 biologically active supplements (polyen, prima-Oil) was studied in hypoallergic rations. Biochemical indices were simultaneously investigated. The revealed dynamic changes of fatty acid spectrum in plasma and red cell membranes, cellular and humoral immunity status and eicosanoids synthesis were followed by positive clinical changes. Diets enriched with biologically active supplementation (PUPA omega-3) can be recommended for application in pediatric practice.

[Evaluation of the effects of fish and vegetable omega-3 PUFA complex on the erythrocyte fatty acid composition in patients with ischemic heart disease and impaired glucose tolerance]. / Otsenka vliianiia kompleksa polinenasyshchennykh zhirnykh kislot semeistva omega-3 morskogo i rastitel'nogo proiskhozhdeniia na sostav zhirnykh kislot lipidov éritrotsitov u bol'nykh ishemicheskoi bolezn'iu serdtsa s narushennoi tolerantnost'iu k uglevodom.

Anti-atherogenic diet supplemented with "Eicolen" (30% linseed oil, and 70% cod-liver oil, 9 grams per day) has been analyzed in 10 cases of ischemic heart disease, and in 11 cases of ischemic heart disease complicated by impaired glucose tolerance. The fish and vegetable PUFA omega-3 from "Eicolen" have been found to improve clinical condition as well as to modify erythrocyte membrane fatty acid composition. The ratio omega-6/omega-3 decreased in both groups in different grade.

The potentialities of use of alginates and food-stuffs containing them in therapeutic nutrition was shown.

The influence of antiatherosclerotic diet with including 15 g preparation "Eikovit" containing fat of freshwater fish on fat acid composition of erythrocytes membrane was studied in 399 patients with ishemic heart disease and hyperlipidemia. Against a background of positive influence on clinical symptoms of diseases, lipids of blood serum, homeostasis expressed influence of PUFA omega-3 in "Eikovit" on biomembrane fat acid composition was noted. It was shown sharp increasing a quota an eicosapentaenic acid by simultaneous reducing PUFA omega-6 level.

Clinical application of the polyunsaturated n-3 fatty acids usage in pediatric practice.

The investigation of the effectiveness of a diet supplemented with n-3 PUFA in children with glomerulonephritis was done. Patients receiving "Polyen" achieved better clinical remission, more rapid decrease of hypercholesterolemia, and hypercoagulation than the patients from the control group. We can recommend "Polyen" usage in the treatment of glomerulonephritis in children.

Usage of antisclerotic diet with PUFA n-3 from vegetable or animal source in 326 patients with IHD, HL and HBP resulted in positive dynamic of clinical manifestation, blood lipids and coagulogramms of the patients. The favorable changes of membrane lipids and the decrease of intensity of lipid peroxidation was also revealed. The decrease of primary and secondary metabolites of lipid peroxidation could be a result of hypolipidemic effect of the diets and sufficient level of vitamin E. We suppose that vitamin A and b-carotene content of butter "Laplandia" had additional mild antioxidant influence.

The effects of supplementation of basic diets with 'Polyen' in daily doses of 2.5-4.0 g during 30-40 days together with antioxidants were studied in patients with kidney diseases (diet No7, n = 14), different allergies (hypoallergenic diet, n = 37) and in control children (n = 12). It was shown positive dynamics in fatty acid contents in plasma and red blood cell membranes, in humoral and cell immunity indicators and in improving of clinical symptoms of diseases. 'Polyen' is recommended for wide use in pediatric practice.

Fish oil preparation "Polyen" was used for treatment 21 patients with ulcerative diseases of the stomach or duodenum. The cicatrization of ulcer was diagnosed in 85% of patients treated by "Polyen" and in 60% of those who did not take fish oil. "Polyen" influenced fatty acid composition of erythrocyte membranes and lipid peroxidation. Authors draw a conclusion that omega-3 PUFA's can stimulate the reparative processes.

The effectivity of diet AI, containing 20 g of fish oil eiconol, for patients suffering with ischemic heart disease, family hyperlipidemia and hypertension were checked. It was concluded that treatment with eiconol is recommended during 4 weeks 2-3 times per year in dose of 3-6 capsules 3 times a day depending on degree of lipids metabolism and hemocoagulation disturbances.

Levels of lipid ligands in serum albumin from cancer patients were assayed versus tumor localization. Abnormal non-specific increase in albumin-bound lipids as well as in peroxidation products was found. Gas-liquid chromatography of different polynonsaturated fatty acids pointed to the enhancement of their metabolism via the omega 3 pathway. The despiralization-type changes in secondary structure of albumin identified by procedures of spectral analysis and the decline in reserve functional activity of protein in tumor patients were matched by a rise in levels of serum albumin-transported ligands. It is suggested that such increase in the ligand-binding ability of albumin provides a major adaptive factor involved in oncopatology.
