The authors present their own observations on some cases of the perforation of the distal end of the sigmoid colon and the intraabdominal portion of the rectum, which is a rare condition. The authors present their own observation of 7 cases, only one of whom died. On the grounds of their experience the authors suggest the most suitable variants of surgical interventions.
