RESUMO

Two new tetralones, pyrolones A (1) and B (2), and a new flavonol glycoside, 2''-O-(4-hydroxybenzoyl)hyperin (3), were isolated from Pyrola calliantha (whole plant), together with six structurally related compounds, including 2''-O-galloylhyperin (4), hyperin (5), formononetin (6), quercetin 3-O-alpha-L-arabinopyranoside (7), quercetin 3-O-alpha-L-arabinofuranoside (8), and kaempferol 3-O-beta-D-galactopyranoside (9). The structures and absolute configurations of the new compounds were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic (UV, ORD, CD, NMR) and mass-spectrometric (HR-ESI-MS) analyses.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the chemical constituents of Pyrola calliatha. METHOD: The chemical constituents were isolated by various column chromatographic methods. The structures were identified by spectral data. RESULT: Ten compounds were isolated and identified as chimaphilin (1), uvaol(2), ursolic acid (3), 2beta,3beta,23-trihydroxy-12-ene-28-ursolic acid (4), daucosterol (5), 2alpha,3beta,23,24-tetrahydroxy-12-ene-28-ursolic acid (6), emodin (7), gallic acid (8), monotropein (9), adenosine (10). CONCLUSION: Compounds 2,4,6,7,10 were obtained from this genus for the first time, compounds 5, 9 were obtained from this species for the first time. Antifungal activity of compounds 1-4, 6-9 were evaluated. Compound 1 showed the strong activity.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo observe the therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with massage on irritable bowel syndrome.

METHODSNinety-three cases of irritable bowel syndrome were randomly divided into three groups: group of acupuncture combined with massage (group A), simple acupuncture control group (group B), simple massage control group (group C), 31 cases in each group. Their therapeutic effects were compared.

RESULTSThe cured rate and the effective rate in the group A were significantly higher than those in both group B and group C (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONAcupuncture combined with massage therapy shows a better therapeutic effect on irritable bowel syndrome, and they should be jointly used in clinical treatment.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo explore the mechanism of moxibustion at Zusanli (ST 36) and Xuanzhong (GB 39) treatment of ischemic apoplexy, and to evaluate the clinical therapeutic effect.

METHODSWith the design of sequential trial, the patients were divided into a treatment group and a control group. The treatment group were treated by addition with moxibustion at Zusanli (ST 36) and Xuanzhong (GB 39) on the basis of basic expectant treatment, once each day, for 20 consecutive days; and the control group with basic expectant treatment for 20 days. Changes of cerebrovascular functions before and after treatment were investigated by transcranial Doppler ultrasound (TCD) in the matched-pair's patients of ischemic apoplexy; the clinical therapeutic effect was assessed by nervous function defect before and after treatment.

RESULTSAll the test lines of the research targets reached to the effective margin the sequential trial figure, with a significant difference as compared with the control group (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONMoxibustion at Zusanli (ST 36) and Xuanzhong (GB 39) has good regulative action on cerebral vasomotorial response, auto-regulation of cerebral blood flow, and establishment of collateral circulation, and improves recovery nervous functions.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVETo search for the best program increasing clinical therapeutic effect on vertebrobasilar insufficiency (VBI) and to study the mechanism.

METHODSThe patients were randomly divided into an acupuncture plus massage group, an acupuncture group and a massage group. Their therapeutic effects were observed and compared. And transcranial Doppler (TCD) was used for detection of systolic flow velocity (Vs), enddiastolic peak flow velocity (Vd), mean peak flow (Vm) and pulsatility index (PI) before and after treatment.

RESULTSThe cured rate and the total effective rate in the acupuncture plus massage group were significantly higher than the acupuncture group and the massage group (P < 0.05). And there were significant differences in Vm, PI and DI in the left vertebral artery (LVA), the right vertebral artery (RVA) and the basilar artery (BA) before and after treatment (P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONAcupuncture combined with massage can improve Vm, PI, DI of VA-BA and the clinical therapeutic effect on VBI as well. It is superior to the simple acupuncture therapy and simple massage therapy. At present, it is one of the best therapy for VBI.
