RESUMO

Replacing the flammable liquid electrolytes with solid ones has been considered to be the most effective way to improve the safety of the lithium batteries. However, the solid electrolytes often suffer from low ionic conductivity and poor rate capability due to their relatively stable molecular/atomic architectures. In this study, we report a composite solid electrolyte, in which polyethylene oxide (PEO) is the matrix and Li6.4La3Zr1.45Ta0.5Mo0.05O12 (LLZTMO) and Li6.4La3Zr1.4Ta0.6O12 (LLZTO) are the fillers. Ta/Mo co-doping can further promote the ion transport capacity in the electrolyte. The synthesized composite electrolytes exhibit high thermal stability (up to 413 °C) and good ionic conductivity (LLZTMO-PEO 2.00 × 10-4 S·cm-1, LLZTO-PEO 1.53 × 10-4 S·cm-1) at 35 °C. Compared with a pure PEO electrolyte, whose ionic conductivity is in the range of 10-7~10-6 S·cm-1, the ionic conductivity of composite solid electrolytes is greatly improved. The full cell assembled with LiFePO4 as the positive electrode exhibits excellent rate performance and good cycling stability, indicating that prepared solid electrolytes have great potential applications in lithium batteries.

RESUMO

Total factor productivity is an important symbol of high-quality economic development. At present, the question of whether the digital economy can infuse fresh impetus into enhancing total factor productivity has emerged as a prominent concern in China. This paper constructs a new undesirable output to measure comprehensive total factor productivity (CTFP) with the slack-based measure (SBM) undesirable Malmquist-Luenberger index by using 2011-2020 Chinese provincial panel data. Then, this paper explores the impact of the digital economy (DIG) on CTFP with a fixed effects (FE) panel model and a mediating effect model. The results show that CTFP increases by an average of 3.9%, technical efficiency contributes -1.1%, and the contribution rate of technological progress is 5.0%. Technological progress is the main source of CTFP growth. The empirical findings show that the DIG has a positive and significant impact on CTFP. This paper conducts various robustness tests, and the results remain consistent with the previous conclusion. Moreover, mechanism tests suggest that the promoting effect of the DIG on CTFP can be attributed to three main effects: technological innovation, the factor endowment structure and the educational level. Furthermore, the results of heterogeneity analysis demonstrate that the promoting effect of the DIG on CTFP exists in China's eastern, central and western regions. The findings of this research can serve as a valuable reference for informing decision-making processes related to environmental governance and high-quality economic development in China.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Numerous studies have found that patients experiencing sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSHL), with or without accompanying vertigo, often show impaired vestibular function. However, there is a dearth of studies analyzing vestibular-evoked myogenic potentials (VEMPs) in SSHL patients across various age groups. AIM: To investigate vestibular condition in SSHL patients across various age demographics. METHODS: Clinical data of 84 SSHL patients were investigated retrospectively. Audiometry, cervical vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (c-VEMPs), and ocular vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (o-VEMPs) were conducted on these patients. Parameters assessed included the latencies of P1 and N1 waves, as well as the amplitudes of P1-N1 waves. Moreover, the study evaluated the influence of factors such as sex, affected side, configuration of hearing loss, and presence of accompanying vertigo. RESULTS: Among the 84 SSHL patients, no significant differences were observed among the three groups in terms of gender, affected side, and the presence or absence of vertigo. Group II (aged 41-60 years) had the highest number of SSHL cases. The rates of absent o-VEMPs in the affected ears were 20.83%, 31.58%, and 22.72% for the three age groups, respectively, with no statistically significant difference among them. The rates of absent c-VEMPs in the affected ears were 8.3%, 34.21%, and 18.18% for the three age groups, respectively, with significant differences. In the unaffected ears, there were differences observed in the extraction rates of o-VEMPs in the unaffected ears among the age groups. In the three age groups, no significant differences were noted in the three age groups in the latencies of P1 and N1 waves or in the amplitude of N1-P1 waves for c-VEMPs and o-VEMPs, either on the affected side or on the unaffected side, across the three age groups. CONCLUSION: The extraction rate of VEMPs is more valuable than parameters. Regardless of the presence of vertigo, vestibular organs are involved in SSHL. Notably, SSHL patients aged 41-60 appear more susceptible to damage to the inferior vestibular nerve and saccule.

RESUMO

Three-dimensional tomographic reconstruction requires careful selection of the illumination angles, often under certain measurement constraints. When the angular distribution must be nonuniform, appropriate selection of the reconstruction weights is necessary. We show that Voronoi weighting can significantly improve the fidelity of optical diffraction tomography.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: To investigate the risk factors for bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in twin preterm infants with a gestational age of <34 weeks, and to provide a basis for early identification of BPD in twin preterm infants in clinical practice. METHODS: A retrospective analysis was performed for the twin preterm infants with a gestational age of <34 weeks who were admitted to 22 hospitals nationwide from January 2018 to December 2020. According to their conditions, they were divided into group A (both twins had BPD), group B (only one twin had BPD), and group C (neither twin had BPD). The risk factors for BPD in twin preterm infants were analyzed. Further analysis was conducted on group B to investigate the postnatal risk factors for BPD within twins. RESULTS: A total of 904 pairs of twins with a gestational age of <34 weeks were included in this study. The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that compared with group C, birth weight discordance of >25% between the twins was an independent risk factor for BPD in one of the twins (OR=3.370, 95%CI: 1.500-7.568, P<0.05), and high gestational age at birth was a protective factor against BPD (P<0.05). The conditional logistic regression analysis of group B showed that small-for-gestational-age (SGA) birth was an independent risk factor for BPD in individual twins (OR=5.017, 95%CI: 1.040-24.190, P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The development of BPD in twin preterm infants is associated with gestational age, birth weight discordance between the twins, and SGA birth.

RESUMO

Wide operation temperature is the crucial objective for an energy storage system that can be applied under harsh environmental conditions. For lithium-sulfur batteries, the "shuttle effect" of polysulfide intermediates will aggravate with the temperature increasing, while the reaction kinetics decreases sharply as the temperature decreasing. In particular, sulfur reaction mechanism at low temperatures seems to be quite different from that at room temperature. Here, through in situ Raman and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy studies, the newly emerged platform at cryogenic temperature corresponds to the reduction process of Li2S8 to Li2S4, which will be another rate-determining step of sulfur conversion reaction, in addition to the solid-phase conversion process of Li2S4 to Li2S2/Li2S at low temperatures. Porous bismuth vanadate (BiVO4) spheres are designed as sulfur host material, which achieve the rapid snap-transfer-catalytic process by shortening lithium-ion transport pathway and accelerating the targeted rate-determining steps. Such promoting effect greatly inhibits severe "shuttle effect" at high temperatures and simultaneously improves sulfur conversion efficiency in the cryogenic environment. The cell with the porous BiVO4 spheres as the host exhibits excellent rate capability and cycle performance under wide working temperatures.

RESUMO

People have been focusing on how to improve the specific capacity and cycling stability of lithium-sulfur batteries at room temperature, however, on some special occasions such as cold cities and aerospace fields, the operating temperature is low, which dramatically hinders the performance of batteries. Here, we report an iron carbide (Fe3C)/rGO composite as electrode host, the Fe3C nanoparticles in the composite have strong adsorption and high catalytic ability for polysulfide. The rGO makes the distribution of Fe3C nanoparticles more disperse, and this specific structure makes the deposition of Li2S more uniform. Therefore, it realizes the rapid transformation and high performance of lithium-sulfur batteries at both room and low temperatures. At room temperature, after 100 cycles at 1C current density, the reversible specific capacity of the battery can be stabilized at 889 ± 7.1 mAh/g. Even at -40 °C, in the first cycle battery still emits 542.9 ± 3.7 mAh/g specific capacity. This broadens the operating temperature for lithium-sulfur batteries and also provides a new idea for the selection of host materials for sulfur in low-temperature lithium-sulfur batteries.

RESUMO

Colorectal cancer (CRC), a major global health concern, may be influenced by dietary protein digestibility impacting gut microbiota and metabolites, which is crucial for cancer therapy effectiveness. This study explored the effects of a casein protein diet (CTL) versus a free amino acid (FAA)-based diet on CRC progression, gut microbiota, and metabolites using carcinogen-induced (AOM/DSS) and spontaneous genetically induced (ApcMin/+ mice) CRC mouse models. Comprehensive approaches including 16s rRNA gene sequencing, transcriptomics, metabolomics, and immunohistochemistry were utilized. We found that the FAA significantly attenuated CRC progression, evidenced by reduced colonic shortening and histopathological alterations compared to the CTL diet. Notably, the FAA enriched beneficial gut bacteria like Akkermansia and Bacteroides and reversed CRC-associated dysbiosis. Metabolomic analysis highlighted an increase in ornithine cycle metabolites and specific fatty acids, such as Docosapentaenoic acid (DPA), in FAA-fed mice. Transcriptomic analysis revealed that FAA up-regulated Egl-9 family hypoxia inducible factor 3 (Egln 3) and downregulated several cancer-associated pathways including Hippo, mTOR, and Wnt signaling. Additionally, DPA was found to significantly induce EGLN 3 expression in CRC cell lines. These results suggest that FAA modulate gut microbial composition, enhance protective metabolites, improve gut barrier functions, and inhibit carcinogenic pathways.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Chemoresistance is a critical factor contributing to poor prognosis in clinical patients with cancer undergoing postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. The role of gut microbiota in mediating resistance to tumour chemotherapy remains to be investigated. METHODS: Patients with CRC were categorised into clinical benefit responders (CBR) and no clinical benefit responders (NCB) based on chemotherapy efficacy. Differential bacterial analysis using 16S rRNA sequencing revealed Desulfovibrio as a distinct microbe between the two groups. Employing a syngeneic transplantation model, we assessed the effect of Desulfovibrio on chemotherapy by measuring tumour burden, weight, and Ki-67 expression. We further explored the mechanisms underlying the compromised chemotherapeutic efficacy of Desulfovibrio using metabolomics, western blotting, colony formation, and cell apoptosis assays. FINDINGS: In comparison, Desulfovibrio was more abundant in the NCB group. In vivo experiments revealed that Desulfovibrio colonisation in the gut weakened the efficacy of FOLFOX. Treatment with Desulfovibrio desulfuricans elevates serum S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) levels. Interestingly, SAM reduced the sensitivity of CRC cells to FOLFOX, thereby promoting the growth of CRC tumours. These experiments suggest that SAM promotes the growth and metastasis of CRC by driving the expression of methyltransferase-like 3 (METTL3). INTERPRETATION: A high abundance of Desulfovibrio in the intestines indicates poor therapeutic outcomes for postoperative neoadjuvant FOLFOX chemotherapy in CRC. Desulfovibrio drives the manifestation of METTL3 in CRC, promoting resistance to FOLFOX chemotherapy by increasing the concentration of SAM. FUNDING: This study is supported by Wuxi City Social Development Science and Technology Demonstration Project (N20201005).

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To explore the application value of dynamic monitoring of gastric residual volume (GRV) in achieving different target energy in severe mechanical ventilation patients. METHODS: A prospective randomized controlled study was conducted. Forty-two patients with mechanical ventilation admitted to the department of critical care medicine of General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University from July to December 2022 were enrolled. According to the random number table method, patients were divided into GRV guided enteral nutrition by traditional gastric juice pumpback method (control group, 22 patients) and GRV guided enteral nutrition by bedside ultrasound (test group, 20 patients). General data were collected from both groups, and clinical indicators such as hypersensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6), neutrophil percentage (Neut%), procalcitonin (PCT), absolute lymphocytes (LYM), prealbumin (PA), and retinol-binding protein (RBP) were dynamically observed. Inflammation, infection, immunity, nutritional indicators, and the incidence of reflux/aspiration, ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) were compared between the two groups, and further compared the proportion of patients with respectively to reach the target energy 25%, 50%, and 70% on days 1, 3, and 5 of initiated enteral nutrition. RESULTS: (1) There were no significant differences in gender, age, body mass index (BMI), duration of mechanical ventilation, and acute physiology and chronic health evaluation II (APACHE II), sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA), severe nutritional risk score (NUTRIC) at admission between the two groups, indicating comparability. (2) On day 1 of initiated enteral nutrition, there were no significant differences in infection, inflammation, immunity and nutrition indicators between the two groups. On day 3 of initiated enteral nutrition, the hs-CRP in the test group was lower than that control group, LYM and PA were higher than those control group [hs-CRP (mg/L): 129.60±75.18 vs. 185.20±63.74, LYM: 1.00±0.84 vs. 0.60±0.41, PA (mg/L): 27.30±3.66 vs. 22.30±2.55, all P < 0.05]. On day 5 of initiated enteral nutrition, the hs-CRP, Neut%, PCT in the test group were lower than those control group, LYM and PA were higher than those control group [hs-CRP (mg/L): 101.70±54.32 vs. 148.40±36.35, Neut%: (85.50±7.66)% vs. (92.90±6.01)%, PCT (µg/L): 0.7 (0.3, 2.7) vs. 3.6 (1.2, 7.5), LYM: 1.00±0.68 vs. 0.50±0.38, PA (mg/L): 27.10±4.57 vs. 20.80 ± 3.51, all P < 0.05]. There were no significantly differences in IL-6 and RBP between the two groups at different time points. (3) The proportion of 50% and 70% of achieved target energy in the test group on day 3, day 5 of initiated enteral nutrition were higher than those of the control group (70.0% vs. 36.4%, 70.0% vs. 36.4%, both P < 0.05). (4) The incidence of reflux/aspiration and VAP in the test group on day 5 of initiated enteral nutrition were significantly lower than those control group (incidence of reflux/aspiration: 5.0% vs. 28.6%, incidence of VAP: 10.0% vs. 36.4%, both P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Dynamic monitoring of GRV by bedside ultrasound can accurately improve the proportion of 50% of achieved target energy on day 3 and 75% on day 5 in severe mechanical ventilation patients, improve the patient's inflammation, immune and nutritional status, and can prevent the occurrence of reflux/aspiration and VAP.

RESUMO

Photonic computing has potential advantages in speed and energy consumption yet is subject to inaccuracy due to the limited equivalent bitwidth of the analog signal. In this Letter, we demonstrate a configurable, fixed-point coherent photonic iterative solver for numerical eigenvalue problems using shifted inverse iteration. The photonic primitive can accommodate arbitrarily sized sparse matrix-vector multiplication and is deployed to solve eigenmodes in a photonic waveguide structure. The photonic iterative eigensolver does not accumulate errors from each iteration, providing a path toward implementing scientific computing applications on photonic primitives.

RESUMO

Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) are promising alternatives to replace lithium-ion batteries as future energy storage batteries because of their abundant sodium resources, low cost, and high charging efficiency. In order to match the high energy capacity and density, designing an atomically doped carbonous material as the anode is presently one of the important strategies to commercialize SIBs. In this work, we report the preparation of high-performance dual-atom-doped carbon (C) materials using low-cost corn starch and thiourea (CH4N2S) as the precursors. The electronegativity and radii of the doped atoms and C are different, which can vary the embedding properties of sodium ions (Na+) into/on C. As sulfur (S) can effectively expand the layer spacing, it provides more channels for embedding and de-embedding Na+. The synergistic effect of N and S co-doping can remarkably boost the performance of SIBs. The capacity is preserved at 400 mAh g -1 after 200 cycles at 500 mA g-1; more notably, the initial Coulombic efficiency is 81%. Even at a high rate of high current of 10 A g-1, the cell capacity can still reach 170 mAh g-1. More importantly, after 3000 cycles at 1 A g-1, the capacity decay is less than 0.003% per cycle, which demonstrates its excellent electrochemical performance. These results indicate that high-performance carbon materials can be prepared using low-cost corn starch and thiourea.

RESUMO

Light addressable potentiometric sensors (LAPS) are a competitive tool for unmarked biochemical imaging, especially imaging on microscale. It is essential to optimize the imaging speed and spatial resolution of LAPS since the imaging targets of LAPS, such as cell, microfluidic channel, etc., require LAPS to image at the micrometer level, and a fast enough imaging speed is a prerequisite for the dynamic process involved in biochemical imaging. In this study, we discuss the improvement of LAPS in terms of imaging speed and spatial resolution. The development of LAPS in imaging speed and spatial resolution is demonstrated by the latest applications of biochemistry monitoring and imaging on the microscale.

RESUMO

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) therapy can be complicated by their potential cardiovascular toxicities, including myocarditis. Nowadays, no prospective trials have focused on ICI-associated myocarditis optimized management. Available evidence only come from case reports or series. A systematic case reports analysis was conducted to collect and evaluate emerging evidence of ICI-associated myocarditis to provide more information to clinicians. Methods: We performed a literature search for eligible case reports or series published between January 2018 and May 2023 using the PubMed database. Then, we extracted interesting information via table form. Finally, this study included 113 publications on 106 patients with ICI-associated myocarditis. Results: Myocarditis was found to be a highly life-threatening disease, with 53.8% of cases. Over half of cases were life-threatening (G4, 23.6%) or severe (G3, 35.8%) and required glucocorticoids. Higher rates of improvement were associated with the best response to ICI for complete response/partial response (72.7% vs. 53.9%), glucocorticoid administration (30% vs. 22%), and discontinuation of ICI (58.8% vs. 32.1%). Consequently, ICI-associated G3-G4 myocarditis should be treated with a combination of discontinuation of ICIs, high-dose glucocorticoids, other drugs, chemical drugs, plasma exchange, and life support. For moderate G1 or G2 cases, discontinuation of ICIs and regular-dose glucocorticoids should be considered. Conclusion: Once full recovery or improvement was achieved; glucocorticoids can be administered at low doses or stopped. Notably, re-challenge with ICIs appears feasible after resolution or meaningful improvement of myocarditis.

RESUMO

To gain insights into the adaptive characteristics of ephemeral plants and enrich their potential for resource exploitation, the adaptive changes in two highly dominant species (Malcolmia scorpioides and Isatis violascens) to soil habitats (aeolian soil, AS; grey desert soil, GS) were investigated from the aspects of root morphology, physiology, and metabolism in this study. The results revealed that changes in root morphology and enzyme activity were affected by soil habitat. Total root length (TRL), root volume (RV) and root surface area (RSA) were higher in GS than in AS. The levels of proline (Pro), glutathione (GSH), soluble sugar (SS), and lysine (Lys) were higher in GS than in AS. Untargeted LC-MS metabolomics indicates that root metabolites of both species differed among the two soil habitats. Root responses to different soil habitats mainly affected some metabolic pathways. A total of 780 metabolites were identified, common differential metabolites (DMs) in both species included amino acids, fatty acids, organic acids, carbohydrates, benzene and derivatives, and flavonoids, which were mainly involved in carbohydrate metabolism, amino acid metabolism, flavonoid biosynthesis and fatty acid metabolism, and their abundance varied among different habitats and species. Some key DMs were significantly related to root morphology and enzyme activity, and indole, malonate, quercetin, uridine, tetrahydroharmine, and gluconolactone were important metabolites associated with root growth. Therefore, the response changes in root growth and metabolite of ephemeral plants in response to soil habitats reflect their ecological adaptation, and lay a foundation for the exploitation of plant resources in various habitats.

RESUMO

High intensity rainfall in southern China has led to soil erosion on sloping farmland, causing serious ecological and environmental problems. But how the interaction of rainfall factors and growth stages influence soil erosion and nitrogen loss on sugarcane-cultivated slope under natural rainfall have not been studied considerably. This study concentrated on the in situ runoff plot observation test. Surface runoff, soil erosion, and nitrogen loss under individual natural rainfall events during the different sugarcane growth stages (seedling stage (SS), tillering stage (TS), elongation stage (ES)) from May to September in 2019 and 2020 were recorded and measured. The effects of rainfall factors (intensity and amount) on soil erosion and nitrogen loss were quantified by path analysis. The influence of rainfall factors and sugarcane planting on soil erosion and nitrogen loss was analyzed. Surface runoff, soil erosion, and nitrogen loss on sugarcane-cultivated slope were 4354.1 m3/ha, 155.4 t/ha, and 25.87 kg/ha during 2019 to 2020, and were mainly concentrated in SS, accounting for 67.2%, 86.9%, and 81.9% of total surface runoff, soil erosion, and nitrogen loss, respectively. Nitrogen losses were mainly concentrated in surface runoff, accounting for 76.1% of total nitrogen loss, and the main form in surface runoff was nitrate nitrogen (NO3--N, 92.9%). Under individual rainfall events, surface runoff, soil erosion, and nitrogen loss changed with the changing of rainfall characteristics and sugarcane growth. Surface runoff and nitrogen loss were obviously affected by rainfall characteristics, while the soil erosion and nitrogen loss were affected by both rainfall characteristics and sugarcane growth stages. Path analysis indicated that maximum rainfall intensities at 15 min (I15) and 60 min (I60) were most significant to the production of surface runoff and soil erosion with direct path coefficients of 1.19 and 1.23, respectively. NO3--N and ammonium nitrogen (NH4+-N) losses in surface runoff were mostly influenced by maximum rainfall intensity at 30 min (I30) and I15 with direct path coefficients of 0.89 and 3.08, respectively. NO3--N and NH4+-N losses in sediment yield were mostly influenced by I15 and rainfall amount, and the direct path coefficients were 1.61 and 3.39, respectively. The main stage of soil and nitrogen loss was seedling stage, while the significant factors of rainfall characteristics affecting surface runoff, soil erosion, and nitrogen loss were quite different. The results provide theoretical support for soil erosion and quantitative rainfall erosion factors of sugarcane-cultivated slope in southern China.

RESUMO

The paper presents a self-assembly approach to synthesize Ni3S2/N, P co-doped graphene (PNG) composite electrode materials for supercapacitors with high energy storage performance and structural stability. Innovatively, the self-assembly approach is induced via the surface charge effect utilizing a two-step hydrothermal method. The doping of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) atoms regulates the surface charge distribution on graphene nanosheets. Therefore, in the synthesized Ni3S2/PNG heterostructures, Ni3S2 nanowires are interwoven into nests and uniformly attached to PNG. The design of the electrode materials with such a special structure not only supports each other to improve the stability of the materials but also facilitates the rapid diffusion of electrolyte ions. Based on the advantages of composition and structure, Ni3S2/PNG has a high specific capacitance of 1117C g-1 at a current density of 1 A/g and excellent rate performance. The asymmetric supercapacitors (ASC) assembled with Ni3S2/PNG and PNG as positive and negative materials respectively have a high energy density of 62 Wh kg-1 at a power density of 158 W kg-1.

RESUMO

The laser is one of the greatest inventions in history. Because of its ubiquitous applications and profound societal impact, the concept of the laser has been extended to other physical domains including phonon lasers and atom lasers. Quite often, a laser in one physical domain is pumped by energy in another. However, all lasers demonstrated so far have only lased in one physical domain. We have experimentally demonstrated simultaneous photon and phonon lasing in a two-mode silica fiber ring cavity via forward intermodal stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) mediated by long-lived flexural acoustic waves. This two-domain laser may find potential applications in optical/acoustic tweezers, optomechanical sensing, microwave generation, and quantum information processing. Furthermore, we believe that this demonstration will usher in other multidomain lasers and related applications.

RESUMO

Background and Objectives: We aimed to investigate the role of Wnt2 expression in colorectal cancer (CRC) prognosis and evaluate its potential as a therapeutic target in BRAF-mutated CRC. Materials and Methods: Exactly 136 samples of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded CRC tissue specimens were obtained from patients who underwent surgical resection for CRC. The gene mutation status of the samples was detected using fluorescence PCR. Wnt2 expression was detected using immunohistochemistry. Survival curves with high Wnt2 expression and BRAF mutations were compared using the Kaplan-Meier method. A nomogram was constructed to determine the estimated overall survival probability. We also predicted the 3-year and 5-year survival rates for patients with high Wnt2 expression and BRAF mutations. In total, 50 samples of BRAF-mutated CRC were collected and detected Wnt2 expression by immunohistochemistry. The Chi-squared test was used to analyze the association between Wnt2 expression and BRAF-mutated CRC. Results: High Wnt2 expression and BRAF mutations are associated with poor prognosis of CRC. Multivariate survival analyses indicated that high Wnt2 expression and BRAF mutations are significant independent predictors of CRC prognosis. Furthermore, high Wnt2 expression was significantly associated with BRAF-mutated CRC, and Wnt2 may be a potential therapeutic target for BRAF-mutated CRC. Conclusions: High Wnt2 expression confers poor prognosis in colorectal cancer and represents a novel therapeutic target in BRAF-mutated CRC.

RESUMO

With the development of high-performance electrode materials, sodium-ion batteries have been extensively studied and could potentially be applied in various fields to replace the lithium-ion cells, owing to the low cost and natural abundance. As the key anode materials of sodium-ion batteries, hard carbons still face problems, such as poor cycling performance and low initial Coulombic efficiency. Owning to the low synthesis cost and the natural presence of heteroatoms of biomasses, biomasses have positive implications for synthesizing the hard carbons for sodium-ion batteries. This minireview mainly explains the research progress of biomasses used as the precursors to prepare the hard-carbon materials. The storage mechanism of hard carbons, comparisons of the structural properties of hard carbons prepared from different biomasses, and the influence of the preparation conditions on the electrochemical properties of hard carbons are introduced. In addition, the effect of doping atoms is also summarized to provide an in-depth understanding and guidance for the design of high-performance hard carbons for sodium-ion batteries.
