RESUMO

Deep eutectic electrolytes (DEEs) have attracted significant interest due to the unique physiochemical properties, yet challenges persist in achieving satisfactory Li anode compatibility through a binary DEE formula. In this study, we introduce a nonflammable binary DEE electrolyte comprising of lithium bis(trifluoro-methane-sulfonyl)imide (LiTFSI) and solid butadiene sulfone (BdS), which demonstrates enhanced Li metal compatibility while exhibiting high Li+ ion migration number (0.52), ionic conductivity (1.48 mS·cm-1), wide electrochemical window (~4.5 V vs. Li/Li+) at room temperature. Experimental and theoretical results indicate that the Li compatibility derives from the formation of a LiF-rich SEI, attributed to the undesirable adsorption and deformation of BdS on Li surface that facilitates the preferential reactions between LiTFSI and Li metal. This stable SEI effectively suppresses dendrites growth and gas evolution reactions, ensuring a long lifespan and high coulombic efficiency in both the Li||Li symmetric cells, Li||LiCoO2 and Li||LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 full cells. Moreover, the BdS eutectic strategy exhibit universal applicability to other metal such as Na and Zn by pairing with the corresponding TFSI-based salts.

RESUMO

Carbon emissions trading policies play a crucial role in facilitating the transition to high-end products within high-carbon enterprises. Nevertheless, current empirical analyses of the carbon emissions trading market exhibit a lack of precision and are susceptible to bias in their findings. Limited research has been conducted on the influence of product quality as a potential constraint on the impact of carbon trading on product bargaining power. This study presents a double-difference model utilizing data on emission-control enterprises in China's carbon market to examine the influence of the carbon emissions trading mechanism on the bargaining power of high-carbon products. Empirical analysis is conducted using financial data from listed companies in China spanning the years 2010 to 2020. The findings indicate that the implementation of carbon emissions trading policies has a dampening impact on the product bargaining power of high-carbon enterprises. Moreover, carbon emissions trading policies have heterogeneous effects on the product bargaining power of high-carbon firms with different life cycles, with mature high-carbon firms receiving a boost and declining high-carbon firms receiving a dampening effect. Mechanism test finds that the incomplete transmission effect of cost shocks resulting from carbon emissions trading policies has negatively affect the product bargaining power of high-carbon enterprises. Further research finds that product quality is a key factor in determining the effect of the carbon emissions trading policy, and that the impact of the carbon emissions trading policy on the bargaining power of products of high-carbon firms takes on a "U" shape due to product quality. Once the product quality exceeds the bottleneck value of 0.5956, the policy significantly increases the bargaining power of products. The study confirms that the establishment of carbon markets can effectively increase the bargaining power of superior products. These results offer a comprehensive theoretical and practical foundation for nations to advance the development of carbon markets and facilitate the achievement of sustainable development by high-carbon enterprises.

RESUMO

In the pursuit of high-performance energy storage systems, four-electron zinc-iodine aqueous batteries (4eZIBs) with successive I-/I2/I+ redox couples are appealing for their potential to deliver high energy density and resource abundance. However, susceptibility of positive valence I+ to hydrolysis and instability of Zn plating/stripping in conventional aqueous electrolyte pose significant challenges. In response, polyethylene glycol (PEG 200) is introduced as co-solvent in 2 m ZnCl2 aqueous solution to design a wide temperature electrolyte. Through a comprehensive investigation combining spectroscopic characterizations and theoretical simulations, it is elucidated that PEG disrupts the intrinsic strong H-bonds of water by global weak PEG-H2O interaction, which strengthens the O─H covalent bond of water and intensifies the coordination with Zn2+. This synergistic effect substantially reduces water activity to restrain the I+ hydrolysis, facilitating I-/I2/I+ redox kinetics, mitigating I3 - formation and smoothening Zn deposition. The 4eZIBs in the optimized hybrid electrolyte not only deliver superior cyclability with a low fading rate of 0.0009% per cycle over 20 000 cycles and a close-to-unit coulombic efficiency but also exhibit stable performance in a wide temperature range from 40 °C to -40 °C. This study offers valuable insights into the rational design of electrolytes for 4eZIBs.

RESUMO

With in-depth research on 1,2-difunctionalization, remote difunctionalization has garnered widespread attention for achieving multifunctionality. Herein, we report a strategy for achieving remote difunctionalization under mild conditions. This strategy exhibited good substrate suitability and functional group tolerance. In addition, the significance of this method is further evidenced by its successful application in scaling up and conducting additional transformations of target compounds. Mechanistic studies showed that a radical might be involved in this process.

RESUMO

Narrow linewidth lasers have a wide range of applications in the fields of coherent optical communications, atomic clocks, and measurement. Lithium niobate material possesses excellent electro-optic and thermo-optic properties, making it an ideal photonic integration platform for a new generation. The light source is a crucial element in large-scale photonic integration. Therefore, it is essential to develop integrated narrow linewidth lasers based on low-loss LNOI. This study is based on the multimode race-track type add-drop microring resonator with multimode interferometric coupler (MMRA-MRR) of the DFB laser self-injection-locked, to achieve the narrowing of linewidth to the laser. The microring external cavity was used to narrow the linewidth of the laser to 2.5 kHz. The output power of the laser is 3.18 mW, and the side-mode suppression ratio is 60 dB. This paper presents an integrated low-noise, narrow-linewidth laser based on thin-film lithium niobate material for the communication band. This is significant for achieving all-optical device on-chip integration of lithium niobate material in the future. It has great potential for use in high-speed coherent optical communication.

RESUMO

A simple microwave photonic, reconfigurable, instantaneous frequency measurement system based on low-voltage thin-film lithium niobate on an insulator phase modulator is put forward and experimentally demonstrated. Changing the wavelength of the optical carrier can realize the flexibility of the frequency measurement range and accuracy, showing that during the ranges of 0-10 GHz, 3-15 GHz, and 12-18 GHz, the average measurement errors are 26.9 MHz, 44.57 MHz, and 13.6 MHz, respectively, thanks to the stacked integrated learning models. Moreover, this system is still able to respond to microwave signals of as low as -30 dBm with the frequency measurement error of 62.06 MHz, as that low half-wave voltage for the phase modulator effectively improves the sensitivity of the system. The general-purpose, miniaturized, reconfigurable, instantaneous frequency measurement modules have unlimited potential in areas such as radar detection and early warning reception.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: To use three-dimensional real inversion recovery (3D-real IR) MRI to investigate correlations between endolymphatic hydrops (EH) grades or the degree of perilymphatic enhancement (PE) and clinical features of Ménière's disease (MD), as previous findings have been inconsistent. METHODS: A total of 273 consecutive patients with definite unilateral MD were retrospectively enrolled from September 2020 to October 2021. All patients underwent 3D-real IR and 3D-T2WI 6 h after intravenous gadolinium injection. MD-related symptom duration and vertigo frequency were recorded. EH grades were evaluated, the signal intensity ratio (SIR) was measured, and correlations between clinical features and EH, PE were assessed respectively. RESULTS: The study included 123 males and 150 females, with a mean age of 53.0 years. A longer duration of vertigo was associated with higher cochlear EH grades, whereas the opposite was true for the duration of aural fullness. A longer time since vertigo onset was associated with higher vestibular EH grades; the opposite was true for the duration of individual vertigo attacks. The multiple regression analysis revealed that age, tinnitus duration, and vestibular EH were risk factors for SIR. Furthermore, the low-frequency hearing threshold (HT) was a risk factor for cochlear and vestibular EH, and the SIR. CONCLUSION: The EH grade and SIR (an indicator for the quantitative evaluation of PE) were correlated with clinical features and HT of MD; thus, imaging can be a valuable tool in planning individualised treatment. CLINICAL RELEVANCE STATEMENT: This study revealed that the grade of endolymphatic hydrops and degree of perilymphatic enhancement positively correlates with the length of time since onset of clinical symptoms and hearing thresholds in patients with Ménière's disease, facilitating the tailored treatment. KEY POINTS: • Relationships between 3-dimensional real inversion recovery features and clinical symptoms in Ménière's disease are unknown. • Symptom duration and hearing thresholds correlated with endolymphatic hydrops grades and degree of perilymphatic enhancement. • MRI features correlate with MD severity; thus, imaging is valuable for planning tailored treatment.

RESUMO

The performance of aqueous zinc metal batteries is significantly compromised by the stability of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI), which is intimately linked to the structure of the electrical double layer (EDL) between the zinc anode and electrolyte. Furthermore, understanding the mechanical behavior of SEI is crucial, as it governs its response to stress induced by volume changes, fracture, or deformation. In this study, we introduce l-glutamine (Gln) as an additive to regulate the adsorbed environment of the EDL and in situ produce a hybrid SEI consisting of ZnS and Gln-related species. The results of the nanoindentation test indicate that the hybrid SEI exhibits a low modulus and low hardness, alongside exceptional shape recovery capability, which effectively limits side reactions and enables topological adaptation to volume fluctuations in zinc anodes during zinc ion plating/stripping, thereby enabling Zn//Zn symmetric cells to exhibit an ultralong cycle life of 4000 h in coin cells and a high cumulative capacity of 18,000 mA h in pouch cells. More importantly, the superiority of the formulated strategy is further demonstrated in Zn//NH4V4O10 full cells at different N/P ratios of 5.2, 4.9, 3.5, and 2.4. This provides a promising approach for future interfacial modulation in aqueous battery chemistry.

RESUMO

It is difficult to distinguish other pathologies mimicking Ménière's disease (MD) clinically. This study aims to investigate the differences of imaging findings and features between MD and other menieriform diseases via intravenous gadolinium-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). 426 patients with menieriform symptoms, including MD, vestibular migraine (VM), and vestibular schwannoma (VS), underwent 3D-FLAIR and 3D-T2WI MRI 6 h after the intravenous gadolinium injection. MR images were analyzed for inner ear morphology, perilymphatic enhancement (PE), EH and other abnormalities. EH was observed at a higher rate in MD patients (85.71%) than patients with other menieriform diseases (VM group = 14.75%, VS group = 37.50%). The prevalence of unilateral EH as well as both cochlear and vestibular EH showed significant differences between MD and VM groups. The prevalence of cochlear EH (I and II) and vestibular EH (II and III) was different between MD and VM groups. The prevalence of PE was higher in MD than VM group. The degrees of cochlear and vestibular hydrops were higher in the definite than probable MD group (P < 0.05). Using these imaging features, MRI can be used to help differentiate MD from other menieriform diseases.

RESUMO

Polysubstituted alkenes are an important class of organic intermediates that widely exist in various natural products and drug molecules. Herein, we reported a stereoselective synthesis of multisubstituted alkenes via ruthenium-catalyzed remote migration arylation of nonactivated olefins. This strategy exhibited wide substrate suitability and excellent functional group tolerance. In addition, we demonstrated the indispensable role of two types of ruthenium through mechanism experiments.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: To determine whether magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can improve diagnostic accuracy for definite and probable Ménière's disease (MD) based on perilymphatic enhancement (PE) and endolymphatic hydrops (EH). METHODS: 363 patients with unilateral MD (probable MD, n = 75 and definite MD, n = 288) were recruited. A three-dimensional zoomed imaging technique with parallel transmission SPACE real inversion recovery was performed 6 h after intravenous gadolinium injection to investigate the presence of PE and to evaluate the grading and location of EH. PE and EH characteristics were analyzed and compared between the probable and definite MD groups. RESULTS: The cochlear and vestibular EH grading on the affected side was more severe in the definite MD group than that in the probable MD group (P < 0.001). The EH locations within the inner ear on the affected side also differed between the two groups (χ2 = 81.15, P < 0.001). The signal intensity ratio (SIR) on the affected side was significantly higher in the definite MD group than in the probable MD group (t = 2.18, P < 0.05). The assessment of the combination of PE and EH parameters within the inner ear revealed a higher area under the curve (AUC) in the definite MD group (0.82) compared with the AUCs of the parameters assessed alone. CONCLUSION: The assessment of a combination of PE and EH parameters improved the diagnostic accuracy for probable and definite MD, suggesting that MRI findings may be clinically useful in the diagnosis of MD.

RESUMO

Difficulty in etching lithium niobate (LN) results in a relatively high propagation loss, which necessitates sophisticated processes to fabricate high-quality factor (Q) microresonators. Here, we fabricate a multimode microring resonator with an intrinsic Q of 6 × 106, which exhibits a propagation loss 50 times lower than that of a single-mode LN microring fabricated under the same process. Notably, the excitation of higher-order modes in the multimode microring is effectively suppressed by utilizing the Euler bend. The highly regular transmission spectrum of the resonator demonstrates a free spectral range (FSR) of 56 GHz. Based on this microresonator, we implement a bandpass microwave photonic filter with an ultra-narrow 3 dB bandwidth of 47.5 MHz and a large tuning range of 2-26.5 GHz. It can be anticipated that the combination of existing advanced etching techniques with this work will drive the propagation loss of a LN waveguide closer to the material absorption loss, significantly facilitating the optimization of performance in applications requiring ultrahigh-Q LN microresonators, such as frequency combs, frequency conversion, electro-optic modulation, and quantum photonics.

RESUMO

The zinc-copper redox couple exhibits several merits, which motivated us to reconstruct the rechargeable Daniell cell by combining chloride shuttle chemistry in a zinc chloride-based aqueous/organic biphasic electrolyte. An ion-selective interface was established to restrict the copper ions in the aqueous phase while ensuring chloride transfer. We demonstrated that the copper-water-chloro solvation complexes are the descriptors, which are predominant in aqueous solutions with optimized concentrations of zinc chloride; thus, copper crossover is prevented. Without this prevention, the copper ions are mostly in the hydration state and exhibit high spontaneity to be solvated in the organic phase. The zinc-copper cell delivers a highly reversible capacity of 395 mAh g-1 with nearly 100% coulombic efficiency, affording a high energy density of 380 Wh kg-1 based on the copper chloride mass. The proposed battery chemistry is expandable to other metal chlorides, which widens the cathode materials available for aqueous chloride ion batteries.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: The T2 mapping of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in endometrial cancer (EC), benign endometrial lesions (BELs), and normal endometrium (NE) has rarely been reported. This study aimed to determine the T2 values of MRI in EC, BELs, and NE to investigate whether the T2 values can differentiate them and to assess the aggressiveness of EC. METHODS: In total, 73 patients [EC, 51 (age, 57.4 ± 5.4 years); BELs, 22 (age, 57.8 ± 11.8 years)] and 23 normal volunteers (age, 56.1 ± 6.6 years) were included. The T2 values of MRI of the EC (type I and II), BEL, and NE groups were described and compared. The relationships between the T2 values of MRI in EC and the pathological characteristics [International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) stage and grade] were analyzed. RESULTS: The median T2 values of NE, BEL, and EC were 197.5 (142.9-324.0) ms, 131.1 (103.2-247.9) ms, and 103.0 (71.6-243.5) ms (P < 0.001), respectively. The median T2 values of type I and type II EC were 100.8 (71.62-130.44) ms and 125.7 (119.7-243.5) ms, respectively. There were significant differences in the T2 values among the NE, BEL, type I EC, and type II EC groups (P < 0.001) except for between the type II EC and BEL groups (P = 0.938). The T2 value of MRI in type I EC was significantly lower than that in type II EC (P = 0.001). There were no significant differences in patients with type I EC having different FIGO stages (P = 0.273) or tumor grades (P = 0.686). CONCLUSION: T2 mapping of MRI has the potential to quantitatively differentiate between EC, BELs, and NE as well as between type I and type II EC.

RESUMO

Background: The relationships of endolymphatic hydrops (EH) and perilymphatic enhancement (PE) with Ménière's disease (MD) remains unclear. This study aimed to describe the dynamic variation of EH and PE for MD patients over 2 hospitalizations by applying magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to further clarify the relationships of EH and PE with MD. Methods: A total of 77 MD patients who underwent inner ear MRI after intravenous administration of gadolinium and pure-tone average (PTA) testing during a first and second hospitalization were included. The degree of EH and PE were evaluated via MRI, and the duration and frequency of vertigo attacks and PTA were collected and recorded. The PTA, EH, and PE for the 2 hospitalizations were compared, and the relationships of EH and cochlear PE with the MD stage were investigated. Results: There was no difference between the 2 hospitalizations for duration of vertigo attacks or frequency of vertigo attacks. However, there were significant differences in PTA (Z=-3.02, P=0.003). Additionally, the cochlear and vestibular EH in the asymptomatic ear at the second hospitalization was significantly worse than that of the first hospitalization (Z=-2.33 and -2.49, P=0.020 and 0.013, respectively), while there were no differences in EH and PE in the affected ear (all P>0.05). Moreover, the degree of cochlear and vestibular EH was correlated with MD stage (both P<0.01). Conclusions: Although EH and PE in the affected ear were unchanged over 2 hospitalizations, an underlying EH in the asymptomatic ear and hearing loss in the affected ear for MD patients developed longitudinally with the duration of disease, and EH varied with the natural course of MD whereas PE did not. Therefore, EH instead of PE is necessary but insufficient to cause the clinical symptoms of MD.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Characterization of the key factors determining gene expression level has been of significant interest. Previous studies on the relationship among evolutionary rates, codon usage bias, and expression level mostly focused on either nuclear genes or unicellular/multicellular organisms but few in chloroplast (cp) genes. Ophioglossum vulgatum is a unique fern and has important scientific and medicinal values. In this study, we sequenced its cp genome and transcriptome to estimate the evolutionary rates (dN and dS), selective pressure (dN/dS), gene expression level, codon usage bias, and their correlations. RESULTS: The correlation coefficients between dN, dS, and dN/dS, and Transcripts Per Million (TPM) average values were -0.278 (P = 0.027 < 0.05), -0.331 (P = 0.008 < 0.05), and -0.311 (P = 0.013 < 0.05), respectively. The codon adaptation index (CAI) and tRNA adaptation index (tAI) were significantly positively correlated with TPM average values (P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Our results indicated that when the gene expression level was higher, the evolutionary rates and selective pressure were lower, but the codon usage bias was stronger. We provided evidence from cp gene data which supported the E-R (E stands for gene expression level and R stands for evolutionary rate) anti-correlation.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Hepatic steatosis is a common radiologic finding. Some imaging inklings are the absence of a mass effect, and there is currently no report of hepatic steatosis with mass effect. CASE SUMMARY: A 23-year-old female was admitted due to a liver mass for half a month. No obvious abnormalities were found in physical and laboratory examinations. Ultrasound, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging showed a huge mass between the liver and stomach with a significant mass effect, and the caudate lobe and left lobe of the liver were involved. The signal on T2- and T1- weighted fat-saturated images of the mass was significantly reduced, and the enhanced scan showed inhomogeneous enhancement. Surgical and pathological findings indicated the diagnosis of hepatic steatosis. The operation and re-review of the patient's images showed that the lesion was supplied by the branch of the hepatic artery. The signal on T1-weighted out-of-phase images of the lesion was lower than on in-phase images, and there was no black rim cancellation artifact around the hepatic steatosis area on T1-weighted out-of-phase images. The dynamic enhancement pattern of the lesion was similar to that of the adjacent normal liver parenchyma. The above characteristics suggested that the lesion was hepatic steatosis. However, in this case, the lesion showed exogenous growth and was mass-like, with an obvious mass effect, which has not been reported previously. CONCLUSION: Hepatic steatosis could grow exogenously and has an obvious mass effect. It needs to be distinguished from fat-rich tumors. The T1-weighted in- and out-of-phase images and dynamic enhanced scanning are valuable for differential diagnosis of this lesion.

RESUMO

This work presents a simple microwave photonic downconversion channelizer based on multi-wavelength laser sources. The design of two laser diode (LD) arrays enables signal multiplexing and simultaneous multichannel downconversion processing, which provide stable, relatively flat, and strong multi-frequency combs. A proof-of-concept experiment was taken, showing that 14.375-17.75 GHz broadband radio frequency (RF) signals were successfully downconverted to the same intermediate frequency (IF) and were sliced into four subchannels with 875 MHz bandwidth showing excellent image rejection and channel uniformity, which agrees with the simulation results. The spurious free dynamic range (SFDR) of the proposed RF channelizer is 100dBHz2/3, the image rejection is over 28 dB, and the frequency measurement error is less than ±6MHz. Replacing optical filters with electrical filters, the proposed simple optoelectronic hybrid reconfigurable microwave photonic channelizer system acquits stable performance and high maturity and meets the application requirements, behaving with stupendous potential in fields such as radar, satellite communication, electronic warfare, and others.

RESUMO

Purpose: The aim of this study was to explore the feasibility of a high-resolution T2-weighted imaging (HR-T2WI)-based radiomics prediction model for diagnosing metastatic lymph nodes (LNs) within the mesorectum in rectal cancer. Method: A total of 604 LNs (306 metastatic and 298 non-metastatic) from 166 patients were obtained. All patients underwent HR-T2WI examination and total mesorectal excision (TME) surgery. Four kinds of segmentation methods were used to select region of interest (ROI), including method 1 along the border of LNs; method 2 along the expanded border of LNs with an additional 2-3 mm; method 3 covering the border of LNs only; and method 4, a circle region only within LNs. A total of 1,409 features were extracted for each method. Variance threshold method, Select K Best, and Lasso algorithm were used to reduce the dimension. All LNs were divided into training and test sets. Fivefold cross-validation was used to build the logistic model, which was evaluated by the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) with four indicators, including area under the curve (AUC), accuracy (ACC), sensitivity (SE), and specificity (SP). Three radiologists with different working experience in diagnosing rectal diseases assessed LN metastasis respectively. The diagnostic efficiencies with each of four segmentation methods and three radiologists were compared to each other. Results: For the test set, the AUCs of four segmentation methods were 0.820, 0.799, 0.764, and 0.741; the ACCs were 0.725, 0.704, 0.709, and 0.670; the SEs were 0.756, 0.634, 0.700, and 0.589; and the SPs were 0.696, 0.772, 0.717, and 0.750, respectively. There was no statistically significant difference in AUC between the four methods (p > 0.05). Method 1 had the highest values of AUC, ACC, and SE. For three radiologists, the overall diagnostic efficiency was moderate. The corresponding AUCs were 0.604, 0.634, and 0.671; the ACCs were 0.601, 0.632, and 0.667; the SEs were 0.366, 0.552, and 0.392; and the SPs were 0.842, 0.715, and 0.950, respectively. Conclusions: The proposed HR-T2WI-based radiomic signature exhibited a robust performance on predicting mesorectal LN status and could potentially be used for clinicians in order to determine the status of metastatic LNs in rectal cancer patients.

RESUMO

Methane oxidation coupled to denitrification is mediated by Candidatus "Methylomirabilis oxyfera" (M. oxyfera), which belongs to the candidate phylum NC10, and plays a crucial role in the global carbon and nitrogen cycle. Using the Yellow River Delta coastal wetland as the study area, molecular biology technology and laboratory incubation were used to determine the abundance of NC10 bacteria and the denitrifying anaerobic methane oxidation (DAMO) rate in soils from different vegetation areas. The results of the electrophoresis detection show that M. oxyfera-like bacteria can be found in the four types of soils, according to the growth analysis by the system, OTU1 (SA) has been found the highest similarity to first-discovered Candidatus Methylomir-abilis oxyfera (FP565575) (over 98%); Vegetation cover significantly increased the abundance of M. oxyfera-like bacteria compared to beach areas, which abundance was significantly higher in deeper layers than in surface ones. Nitrate, nitrite, total nitrogen, and conductivity were identified as the main environmental factors affecting the DAMO rate. This study showed that both groups A and B of Candidatus M. oxyfera-like bacteria exist in the coastal wetland of the Yellow River Delta, which provides molecular biological evidence for the existence of the DAMO process therein. Moreover, it was revealed the influence mechanism of physical and chemical characteristics of each region on the DAMO rate.
