RESUMO

The incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) ranks first among primary liver cancers, and its mortality rate exhibits a consistent annual increase. The treatment of HCC has witnessed a significant surge in recent years, with the emergence of targeted immune therapy as an adjunct to early surgical resection. Adoptive cell therapy (ACT) using tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) has shown promising results in other types of solid tumors. This article aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the intricate interactions between different types of TILs and their impact on HCC, elucidate strategies for targeting neoantigens through TILs, and address the challenges encountered in TIL therapies along with potential solutions. Furthermore, this article specifically examines the impact of oncogenic signaling pathways activation within the HCC tumor microenvironment on the infiltration dynamics of TILs. Additionally, a concise overview is provided regarding TIL preparation techniques and an update on clinical trials investigating TIL-based immunotherapy in solid tumors.

RESUMO

Capital constraints hinder enterprises' carbon reduction efforts and affect the sustainability of the supply chain. To alleviate this limitation, the core enterprise considers offering two financial-based carbon reduction incentive mechanisms: cost-sharing mechanism (CS) and preferential financing mechanism (PF). In a supply chain with the dual sensitivity of market demand to price and carbon reduction, we model each incentive mechanism, discussing their impact, value, and selection strategies. The results show that neither party under CS pursues an excessively high share ratio. Only a below-threshold sharing ratio can promote the supplier's carbon reduction behavior and improve efficiency for both parties. Conversely, PF has a stable incentive effect on the supplier's carbon reduction behavior and can effectively increase the retailer's profits. However, a reasonable carbon reduction standard is needed to attract the supplier. In addition, as market demand becomes more sensitive to carbon reduction, the feasible range of CS narrows and that of PF expands. We compare players' preferences of PF and CS and find a Pareto region in which all players prefer PF to CS. Finally, we test the robustness of our findings by an extending model. Our study provides guidance for supply chain decisions facing dual pressures of financial constraints and carbon reduction.

RESUMO

There are significant differences in energy footprints among individual households. This study uses an environmentally extended input-output approach to estimate the per capita household energy footprint (PCHEF) of 10 different income groups in China's 30 provinces and analyzes the heterogeneity of household consumption categories, and finally measures the energy equality of households in each province by measuring the energy footprint Gini coefficient (EF-Gini). It is found that the energy footprint of the top 10% income households accounted for about 22% of the national energy footprint in 2017, while the energy footprint of the bottom 40% income households accounted for only 24%. With the growth of China's economy, energy footprint inequality has declined spatially and temporally. Firstly, wealthier coastal regions have experienced greater convergence in their energy footprint than poorer inland regions. Secondly, China's household EF-Gini has declined from 0.38 in 2012 to 0.36 in 2017. This study shows that China's economic growth has not only raised household income levels, but also reduced energy footprint inequality.

RESUMO

H2S is an important signal molecule in living systems and related with many physiological processes and diseases. Rapid detection of H2S, hence, is important for studying physiological processes and early diagnosis of diseases. Deep insight into the sensing mechanism is significant and inspiring for the design and modification of high-efficiency H2S probes. The current study has theoretically investigated the recognition and fluorescence mechanism of a newly reported high-efficiency H2S probe. The recognition mechanism is determined to be the reaction between the probe and HS- anion, the rationality of which is further confirmed from the fluorescence property of the recognition product. The non-fluorescence property of the probe attributes to a photoinduced electron transfer process, and the turn-on fluorescence upon exposure to H2S exhibits an intramolecular charge transfer property according to frontier molecular orbital analysis.

RESUMO

Astrocyte elevated gene 1 (AEG-1) is overexpressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and is strongly associated with tumor metastasis. Anoikis resistance and autophagy may play an important role in the survival of circulating tumor cells. However, the relationship among AEG-1, anoikis resistance, autophagy, and metastasis in HCC is still not clear. The results of this study indicate that AEG-1 expression is increased in HCC cell lines grown in suspension culture. AEG-1 could enhance anoikis resistance to promote the survival of detached HCC cells. Moreover, the anoikis resistance appears to be partly dependent on autophagy. Regulating AEG-1 expression changed the autophagy levels to modulate anoikis resistance, likely acting via the protein kinase RNA-like ER kinase (PERK)-eIF2α-ATF4-CHOP signaling axis. Finally, inhibiting autophagy by RNA interference prevented the AEG-1-promoted metastasis of HCC xenografts to the liver and lungs of nude mice. Taken together, AEG-1 is a key contributor to anoikis resistance and metastasis by inducing autophagy in vitro and in vivo, and it may be a potential target for therapeutic intervention in HCC.

RESUMO

Mallory-Weiss syndrome (MWS) is a relatively less common cause of nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding. There is limited data on whether scoring systems could be used to predict the clinical outcomes in patients with bleeding due to MWS. The aim of our study is to evaluate whether the Glasgow-Blatchford score (GBS), AIMS65, and shocking index are effective in predicting the clinical outcomes of MWS.One hundred twenty-eight patients from January 2010 to January 2017 with MWS in middle China were enrolled. Clinical features such as age, gender, causes of vomiting, endoscopic findings, GBS, AIMS65, and shocking index were recorded. The clinical outcomes including endoscopic treatment and transfusion were analyzed.MWS accounted for 6.1% of nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Male-to-female ratio was 3.6:1 and median age was 51 years. Patients between 40 and 60 years were more commonly affected; 43.8% of MWS was caused by overdrinking followed by underlying gastric diseases (33.6%). However, for female patients alone, underlying gastric diseases were the leading cause (42.9%). The tears were usually single and most frequently located on the left lateral wall. In receiver-operating characteristic curve analyses, GBS system and shocking index were useful in predicting transfusion (0.856 vs 0.675). But for endoscopic intervention, these scoring systems are not helpful (P > .05).Apart from drinking, underlying gastric disease is another important cause of MWS especially for female patients and should be paid more attention under endoscopy examination. GBS system and shocking index can be used to predict transfusion.

RESUMO

To understand the differences in space use by eastern hoolock gibbons (Hoolock leuconedys) for meeting different behavioural needs and adapting to a disturbed environment, an eastern hoolock gibbon family in Nankang, Mt. Gaoligong, China, was observed, and data on their behaviour, spatial position and substrate use were collected through instantaneous scanning from October 2, 2010, to September 15, 2011. Our results suggested that connectivity was a primary factor influencing the movements of eastern hoolock gibbons. However, there were differences between spatial location and substrate use with different behaviours. Sitting and hanging were the main resting behaviours, but spatial position and substrate use for these two postures were different. Because tsaoko cultivation in this area has made understory plants rare, gibbons primarily used long, thin, horizontal branches in the first and second layers of the tree canopy for their movement. Although gibbons can selectively use the habitat and alter their spatial utilisation pattern accordingly, they are facing increased difficulty in movement and risk falling because of increased human disturbance and spread of tsaoko plantations. Therefore, it is important to limit the scope of tsaoko plantation to maintain a suitable habitat for Nankang gibbons.

RESUMO

The permutation transformation of tensors is introduced and its basic properties are discussed. The invariance under permutation transformations is studied for some important structure tensors such as symmetric tensors, positive definite (positive semidefinite) tensors, Z-tensors, M-tensors, Hankel tensors, P-tensors, B-tensors and H-tensors. Finally, as an application of permutation transformations of tensors, the canonical form theorem of tensors is given. The theorem shows that some problems of higher dimension tensors can be translated into the corresponding problems of lower dimension weakly irreducible tensors so as to handle easily.
