RESUMO

Using the Pathocharacterological Diagnostic Inventory (PDI) a total of 264 teenagers were examined to identify among 15-17-year-olds a group at a high risk of beginning to drink alcohol beverages before coming of age. A follow-up study in two years revealed that 16% of them became alcohol abusers. Comparison of the results obtained with the help of the PDI in abstainers versus alcohol abusers has demonstrated that a high risk group is readily identified using a special scale of psychological liability to alcoholization.

RESUMO

The authors followed up (for 5-15 years) 256 male patients in whom disease first manifested in adolescence. They identified prognostic signs in the period of manifestations. Stable (over 4 years) remission correlated with an onset characterized by a depressive background, a syndrome of metaphysical intoxication and a correlation between the type of accentuation of the character as determined with help of the Pathocharacterological Diagnostic Questionnaire for adolescents and the clinically-determined premorbid type. Unfavourable prognostic signs included an early onset (at the age of 10-13 years), hereditary aggravation by endogenic psychoses through only the maternal line, untidiness, shamelessness, purposeful malice and sadism directed against the mother, and also characteristic delirious behaviour without formed delirium.

RESUMO

An attitude towards the disease in patients with chronic somatic disturbances is determined by three factors: the nature of the disease, personality type and the attitude to this particular disease in the microsocial environment to which the patient belongs. Three main types of attitudes towards their disease in patients with chronic somatic disturbances are described: anxious-depressive, melancholic, obsessive-phobic, hypochondriacal, neurasthenical, dysphoric, euphoric, anozognosic, apathetic, egopathic (a fanatic preoccupation with work), sensitive, egocentric, paranoiac. These types may be mixed as well. A knowledge of the above-mentioned types is useful for psychotherapeutic approaches.

RESUMO

The clinical follow-up study of 181 adolescent patients, suffering from so-called schizoaffective psychoses allowed 3 main variants to be singled out on the basis of the clinical symptoms and features of the disease course: in the first variant the clinical picture and disease course were very similar to those of the manic-depressive syndrome; in the second one the clinical symptomatology was characterized from the disease onset by the presence of the depressive-paranoid syndrome, and the third variant was characterized by delusional symptomatology in a bipolar circular disease course.

RESUMO

The theoretical concept called "psychology of relations" (A. F. Lazursky, V. N. Myasishchev) is offered as the basis for a study of a patient's personality and psychotherapy. The author stresses ideological relationship of psychology of relations with phylosophy of dialectical materialism and I. P. Pavlov's studies about conditioned reflexes, its relationship with clinical psychoneurology, its direction to a study of the personality and adherence to primacy of consciousness over unconciousness. The perspectiveness of the evolutionally ontogenetic approach to the analysis of the system of relations and necessity to elaborate working systematizations determined by the research purpose, is stated.

RESUMO

The author studied 100 adolescent boys from 12-18 years of age with schizophrenia in whom either in the onset, remission or during the entire extent of the disease there was a psychopath-like syndrome. Three variants of such conditions are described, they resemble schizoid, unstable and epileptoid psychopathy. The report contains differential diagnostical criteria of these states. Some common symptoms for all variants of psychopath-like pictures are given: ambivalency, unmotivated cruelty or seemingly crude demonstrativeness in suicidal activity, unmotivated wandering instead of goal-directed escapes, abuse of alcohol or narcotics as doping, etc.
