RESUMO

Traditional ethylene carbonate (EC)-based electrolytes constrain the applications of silicon carbon (Si-C) anodes under fast-charging and low-temperature conditions due to sluggish Li+ migration kinetics and unstable solid electrolyte interphase (SEI). Herein, inspired by the efficient water purification and soil stabilization of aquatic plants, a stable SEI with a 3D desolvation interface is designed with gel polymer electrolyte (GPE), accelerating Li+ desolvation and migration at the interface and within stable SEI. As demonstrated by theoretical simulations and experiment results, the resulting poly(1,3-dioxolane) (PDOL), prepared by in situ ring-opening polymerization of 1,3-dioxolane (DOL), creates a 3D desolvation area, improving the Li+ desolvation at the interface and yielding an amorphous GPE with a high Li+ ionic conductivity (5.73 mS cm-1). Furthermore, more anions participate in the solvated structure, forming an anion-derived stable SEI and improving Li+ transport through SEI. Consequently, the Si-C anode achieves excellent rate performance with GPE at room temperature (RT) and low temperature (-40 °C). The pouch full cell coupled with LiFePO4 cathode obtains 97.42 mAh g-1 after 500 cycles at 5 C/5 C. This innovatively designed 3D desolvation interface and SEI represent significant breakthroughs for developing fast-charging and low-temperature batteries.

RESUMO

Transition metal fluorides are a series of strong oxidizing agents. Tungsten (W) fluorides, particularly WF6, have shown broad applications such as luminescence and fluorinating agent. However, other stoichiometries of W fluorides have rarely been studied. It is well-known that pressure can induce structural phase transition, stabilize new compounds, and produce novel properties. In this work, the high-pressure phases of W-F were searched systematically at the pressure range of 0-200 GPa through first-principles swarm-intelligence structural search calculations. A new stoichiometry of WF4 has been predicted to be stable under high pressures. On the other hand, two new high-pressure phases of WF6 with the symmetries of P 2 1 ${{P2}_{1}}$ /m and P ${P}$ -1 were found with decahedral structural units. The electronic properties of the W-F compounds were then investigated. The predicted stable WF6 high-pressure phases maintain semiconducting features, since the W atom provides all its valence electrons to fluorine. We evaluated the oxidizing ability of WF6 by calculating its electron affinity potential. The high pressure P 2 1 ${{P2}_{1}}$ /m WF6 molecular phase shows higher oxidation capacity than the ambient phase. The built pressure-composition phase diagram and the theoretical results of W-F system provide some useful information for experimental synthesis.

RESUMO

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) variants are a fatal pathogen resulting in substantial morbidity and mortality, and posing a great threat to human health with epidemics and pandemics. METHODS: Next-generation sequencing (NGS) was performed to investigate the SARS-CoV-2 genomic characterization. Phylogenetic analysis of SARS-CoV-2 genomes was used to probe the evolutionary. Homology protein structure modelling was done to explore potential effect of the mutations. RESULTS: The eighty genome sequences of SARS-CoV-2 obtained from the thirty-nine patients with COVID-19. A novel variant with mutation H625R concomitant with S50L in spike glycoprotein had been identified. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that SARS-CoV-2 variants belong to several distinct lineages. Homology modelling indicated that variant with mutation H625R and S50L increases flexibility of S1 subunit. CONCLUSIONS: SARS-CoV-2 genomes are constantly evolving by accumulation of point mutations. The amino acid H625R in combination with S50L may have a significant impact on the interaction between spike glycoprotein and ACE2.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Avian influenza viruses (AIV), particularly H5N6, have risen in infection frequency, prompting major concerns. Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) can illustrate the immune cell landscape present in the peripheral circulation of influenza H5N6-infected individuals at the single-cell level. This study attempted to employ scRNA-seq technology to map the potentially hidden single cell landscape of influenza H5N6. METHODS: High-quality transcriptomes were generated from scRNA-seq data of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), which were taken from a critically-ill child diagnosed with H5N6 avian influenza infection and one healthy control donor. Cluster analysis was then performed on the scRNA-seq data to identify the different cell types. The pathways, pseudotime developmental trajectories and gene regulatory networks involved in different cell subpopulations were also explored. RESULTS: In total, 3,248 single cell transcriptomes were captured by scRNA-seq from PBMC of the child infected with H5N6 avian influenza and the healthy control donor and further identified seven immune microenvironment cell types. In addition, a subsequent subpopulation analysis of innate lymphoid cells (ILC) and CD4+ T cells revealed that subpopulations of ILC and CD4+ T cells were involved in cytokine and inflammation-related pathways and had significant involvement in the biological processes of oxidative stress and cell death. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, characterizing the overall immune cell composition of H5N6-infected individuals by assessing the immune cell landscape in the peripheral circulation of H5N6 avian influenza-infected and healthy control donors at single-cell resolution provides key information for understanding H5N6 pathogenesis.

RESUMO

The development of high-performance supercapacitors is an important goal in the field of energy storage. Ionic liquids (ILs) are promising electrolyte materials for efficient energy storage in supercapacitors, because of the high stability, low volatility, and wider electrochemical stability window than traditional electrolytes. However, ILs-based supercapacitors usually show a relatively lower power density owing to the inherent viscosity-induced low electrical conductivity. Fluorosulfonyl ILs have aroused much attention in energy storage devices due to its low toxicity and excellent stability. Here, we propose that structural modification is an effective way to improve the energy storage performance of fluorosulfonyl ILs through the classical molecular dynamics (MD) method. Four fluorosulfonyl ILs with different sizes and symmetries were considered. Series of properties including conductivity, interface structure, and double-layer capacitance curves were systematically investigated. The results show that smaller size and more asymmetric structure can enhance self-diffusion coefficient and conductivity, and improve the electrochemical performance. Appropriate modification of the electrodes can further enhance the capacitive performance. Our work provides an opportunity to further understand and develop the fluorosulfonyl ILs electrolyte in supercapacitors.

RESUMO

Electric double-layer supercapacitors (EDLCs) have attracted much attention in the energy storage field due to their advantages such as high output power, long service life, safety and high efficiency. However, their low energy density limits their application. Aiming at the problem of the low energy density of EDLCs, improving quantum capacitance (CQ) of electrode materials is an effective strategy. In this paper, we systematically studied the effects of vacancy, doping, and metal atom adsorption on the CQ of borophene using first-principles calculations. The results show that S and N doping greatly enhance the charge accumulation of borophene at positive and negative potential, respectively. The maximum CQ values of S-doped and N-doped borophene are 157.3 µF cm-2 (0.38 V) and 187.8 µF cm-2 (-0.24 V), respectively. Both of them can serve as ideal candidates for the positive (S-doped one) and negative (N-doped one) electrodes of EDLCs. Besides, metal Al atom-adsorbed borophene can also effectively enhance the CQ, with a maximum value of 109.1 µF cm-2.

RESUMO

Tantalum (Ta) is an interesting transition metal that exhibits superconductivity in its elemental states. Additionally, several Ta chalcogenides (S and Se) have also demonstrated superconducting properties. In this work, we propose the existence of five high-pressure metallic Ta-O compounds (e.g., TaO3, TaO2, TaO, Ta2O, and Ta3O), composed of polyhedra centered on Ta/O atoms. These compounds exhibit distinct characteristics compared to the well-known semiconducting Ta2O5. One particularly interesting finding is that TaO3 shows an estimated superconducting transition temperature (Tc) of 3.87 K at 200 GPa. This superconductivity is primarily driven by the coupling between the low-frequency phonons derived from Ta and the O 2p and Ta 5d electrons. Remarkably, its dynamically stabilized pressure can be as low as 50 GPa, resulting in an enhanced electron-phonon coupling and a higher Tc of up to 9.02 K. When compared to the superconductivity of isomorphic TaX3 (X = O, S, and Se) compounds, the highest Tc in TaO3 is associated with the highest NEF and phonon vibrational frequency. These characteristics arise from the strong electronegativity and small atomic mass of the O atom. Consequently, our findings offer valuable insights into the intrinsic physical mechanisms of high-pressure behaviors in Ta-O compounds.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is associated with a high rate of pulmonary infections (bacteria, fungi, and viruses). To overcome the low sensitivity and long turnaround time of traditional laboratory-based diagnostic strategies, we adopted metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) technology to identify and classify pathogens. RESULTS: This study enrolled 75 patients with AIDS and suspected pulmonary infections who were admitted to Nanning Fourth People's Hospital. Specimens were collected for traditional microbiological testing and mNGS-based diagnosis. The diagnostic yields of the two methods were compared to evaluate the diagnostic value (detection rate and turn around time) of mNGS for infections with unknown causative agent. Accordingly, 22 cases (29.3%) had a positive culture and 70 (93.3%) had positive valve mNGS results (P value < 0.0001, Chi-square test). Meanwhile, 15 patients with AIDS showed concordant results between the culture and mNGS, whereas only one 1 patient showed concordant results between Giemsa-stained smear screening and mNGS. In addition, mNGS identified multiple microbial infections (at least three pathogens) in almost 60.0% of patients with AIDS. More importantly, mNGS was able to detect a large variety of pathogens from patient tissue displaying potential infection and colonization, while culture results remained negative. There were 18 members of pathogens which were consistently detected in patients with and without AIDS. CONCLUSIONS: In conclusion, mNGS analysis provides fast and precise pathogen detection and identification, contributing substantially to the accurate diagnosis, real-time monitoring, and treatment appropriateness of pulmonary infection in patients with AIDS.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: We aimed to investigate clinical uncertainties by characterizing the accuracy and utility of commercially available antibodies of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in the diagnostic assessment of suspected tuberculosis in high-burden countries. METHODS: We conducted a retrospective, descriptive, cohort study among participants aged ≥ 18 years with suspected tuberculosis in Nanning, Guangxi, and China. Participants were tested for M. tuberculosis infection using commercially available antibodies against Mycobacterum tuberculosis. Specificity, sensitivity, negative and positive predictive values, and negative and positive likelihood ratios of the tests were determined. Sputum specimens and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid were sent for mycobacterial culture, Xpert MTB/RIF assay, and cell-free M. tuberculosis DNA or RNA assay. Blood samples were used for IGRAs, T-cell counts (CD3 + CD4+ and CD3 + CD8+), and antibodies to tuberculosis test. RESULTS: Of the 1857 participants enrolled in this study, 1772 were included in the analyses, among which, 1311 were diagnosed with active tuberculosis. The specificity of antibody against 16kD for active tuberculosis was 92.7% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 89.3-95.4) with a positive likelihood ratio for active tuberculosis cases of 3.1 (95% CI: 2.1-4.7), which was higher than that of antibody to Rv1636 (90.5% [95% CI: 86.6-93.5]), antibody to 38kD (89.5% [95% CI: 85.5-92.7]), antibody against CFP-10 (82.6% [95% CI: 77.9-86.7]), and antibody against LAM (79.3% [95% CI: 74.3-83.7]). Sensitivity ranged from 15.8% (95% CI: 13.9-17.9) for antibody against Rv1636 to 32.9% (95% CI: 30.4-35.6) for antibody to LAM. CONCLUSIONS: Commercially available antibodies against to Mycobacterium tuberculosis do not have sufficient sensitivity for the diagnostic evaluation of active tuberculosis. However, antibody against Rv1636 and 16kD may have sufficiently high specificities, high positive likelihood ratios, and correspondingly high positive predictive values to facilitate the rule-in of active tuberculosis.

Existing M. tuberculosis antigens do achieve a limited sensitivity and negative predictive value to rule out a diagnosis of tuberculosis.M. tuberculosis antigens may help to rule in a diagnosis of active or latent tuberculosis in clinical setting among the high burden tuberculosis countries. This study is the largest retrospective, descriptive, cohort study to evaluate the clinical utilization of existing M. tuberculosis antigens integrating M. tuberculosis immunogens in patients with suspected active tuberculosis in high-burden country.

RESUMO

In recent years, supercapacitors have been widely used in the fields of energy, transportation, and industry. Among them, electrical double-layer capacitors (EDLCs) have attracted attention because of their dramatically high power density. With the rapid development of computational methods, theoretical studies on the physical and chemical properties of electrode materials have provided important support for the preparation of EDLCs with higher performance. Besides the widely studied double-layer capacitance (CD), quantum capacitance (CQ), which has long been ignored, is another important factor to improve the total capacitance (CT) of an electrode. In this paper, we survey the recent theoretical progress on the CQ of two-dimensional (2D) electrode materials in EDLCs and classify the electrode materials mainly into graphene-like 2D main group elements and compounds, transition metal carbides/nitrides (MXenes), and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs). In addition, we summarize the influence of different modification routes (including doping, metal-adsorption, vacancy, and surface functionalization) on the CQ characteristics in the voltage range of ±0.6 V. Finally, we discuss the current difficulties in the theoretical study of supercapacitor electrode materials and provide our outlook on the future development of EDLCs in the field of energy storage.

RESUMO

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is among the deadliest cancers worldwide, and advanced HCC is difficult to treat. Identifying specific cell subpopulations in the tumor microenvironment and exploring interactions between the cells and their environment are crucial for understanding the development, prognosis, and treatment of tumors. Methods: In this study, we constructed a tumor ecological landscape of 14 patients with HCC from 43 tumor tissue samples and 14 adjacent control samples. We used bioinformatics analysis to reveal cell subpopulations with potentially specific functions in the tumor microenvironment and to explore the interactions between tumor cells and the tumor microenvironment. Results: Immune cell infiltration was evident in the tumor tissues, and BTG1 + RGS1 + central memory T cells (Tcms) interact with tumor cells through CCL5-SDC4/1 axis. HSPA1B may be associated with remodeling of the tumor ecological niche in HCC. Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) and macrophages (TAMs) were closely associated with tumor cells. APOC1 + SPP1 + TAM secretes SPP1, which binds to ITGF1 secreted by CAFs to remodel the tumor microenvironment. More interestingly, FAP + CAF interacts with naïve T cells via the CXCL12-CXCR4 axis, which may lead to resistance to immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy. Conclusion: Our study suggests the presence of tumor cells with drug-resistant potential in the HCC microenvironment. Among non-tumor cells, high NDUFA4L2 expression in fibroblasts may promote tumor progression, while high HSPA1B expression in central memory T cells may exert anti-tumor effects. In addition, the CCL5-SDC4/1 interaction between BTG1 + RGS1 + Tcms and tumor cells may promote tumor progression. Focusing on the roles of CAFs and TAMs, which are closely related to tumor cells, in tumors would be beneficial to the progress of systemic therapy research.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Microscopy was used to characterize platelet-Plasmodium-infected erythrocyte interactions in patients infected with Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium vivax, Plasmodium ovale or Plasmodium malariae, and to investigate the relationship between platelet-associated parasite killing and parasite clearance. METHODS: Data from 244 malaria patients admitted to the Fourth People's Hospital of Nanning between 1 January 2011 and 30 September 2022, and 45 healthy controls, were collected prospectively and assessed retrospectively. Characteristics of platelet-erythrocyte interactions were visualized by microscopy, and blood cell count and clinical profiles of these participants were obtained from the electronic medical records. ANOVA, contingency tables and Cox proportional hazards regression models were used to do statistical analysis on the subgroups. RESULTS: Platelet enlargement and minor pseudopodia development were observed. Platelets were found directly attaching to parasitized erythrocytes by all Plasmodium species studied, especially mature stages, and lysis of parasitized erythrocytes was connected to platelet-mediated cytolysis. Platelet counts were correlated inversely with parasitaemia and duration of parasite clearance. Artemisinin combination therapy was more effective than artemisinin alone in clearing Plasmodium in patients with thrombocytopenia. CONCLUSIONS: Platelet-parasitized erythrocytes cell-to-cell contacts initiated platelet-associated parasite killing and helped to limit Plasmodium infection in cases of human malaria. The weakening platelet-associated parasite killing effects could be counteracted by artemisinin combination therapy in patients with thrombocytopenia.

RESUMO

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant challenge for public health and is closely associated with malnutrition; however, few studies have attempted to screen malnutrition among TB patients. The study aimed to evaluate the nutrition status and build a new nutritional screening model for active TB. Methods: A retrospective, multicenter, large cross-sectional study was conducted in China from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2021. All included patients diagnosed with active pulmonary TB (PTB) were evaluated both by Nutrition Risk Screening 2002 (NRS 2002) and Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition (GLIM) criteria. Univariate and multivariate analyses were conducted to screen the risk factors associated with malnutrition, and a new screening risk model, mainly for TB patients, was constructed. Results: A total of 14,941 cases meeting the inclusion criteria were entered into the final analysis. The malnutrition risk rate among PTB patients in China was 55.86% and 42.70%, according to the NRS 2002 and GLIM, respectively. The inconsistency rate between the two methods was 24.77%. A total of 11 clinical factors, including elderly, low body mass index (BMI), decreased lymphocyte cells, taking immunosuppressive agents, co-pleural TB, diabetes mellitus (DM), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), severe pneumonia, decreased food intake within a week, weight loss and dialysis were identified as independent risk factors of malnutrition based on multivariate analyses. A new nutritional risk screening model was constructed for TB patients with a diagnostic sensitivity of 97.6% and specificity of 93.1%. Conclusions: Active TB patients have severe malnutrition status according to screening by the NRS 2002 and GLIM criteria. The new screening model is recommended for PTB patients as it is more closely tailored to the characteristics of TB.

RESUMO

Curcumin (Cur), a natural hydrophobic polyphenolic compound, exhibits multiple beneficial biological activities. However, low water solubility and relative instability hinder its application in food fields. In this study, carrier-free curcumin nanoparticles (CFC NPs) were prepared by adding the DMSO solution of Cur into DI water under continuous rapid stirring. The morphology of CFC NPs was a spherical shape with a diameter of 65.25 ± 2.09 nm (PDI = 0.229 ± 0.107), and the loading capacity (LC) of CFC NPs was as high as 96.68 ± 0.03%. The thermal property and crystallinity of CFC NPs were investigated by XRD. Furthermore, the CFC NPs significantly accelerated the release of Cur in vitro owing to its improved water dispersibility. Importantly, CFC NPs displayed significantly improved DPPH radical scavenging activity. Overall, all these results suggested that CFC NPs would be a promising vehicle to widen the applications of Cur in food fields.

RESUMO

We describe the opportunistic infections (OIs) of HIV/AIDS to understand the spectrum, mortality, and frequency of multiple coinfected OIs among HIV/AIDS patients in southern China, where OIs are severe. We carried out a retrospective cohort study of hospitalized HIV-infected individuals at the Fourth People's Hospital of Nanning, Guangxi, China, from Jan. 2011 to May. 2019. The chi-square test was used to analyze cross-infection; the Kaplan‒Meier analysis was used to compare mortality. A total of 12,612 HIV-infected patients were admitted to this cohort study. Among them, 8982 (71.2%) developed one or more OIs. The overall in-hospital mortality rate was 9.0%. Among the patients, 35.6% coinfected one OI, and 64.4% coinfected more than two OIs simultaneously. Almost half of the patients (60.6%) had CD4 + T-cell counts < 200 cells/µL. Pneumonia (39.8%), tuberculosis (35.3%), and candidiasis (28.8%) were the most common OIs. Coinfected cryptococcal meningitis and dermatitis are the most common combined OIs. The rate of anaemia (17.0%) was highest among those common HIV-associated complications. Multiple OIs are commonly found in hospitalized HIV/AIDS patients in southwestern China, which highlights the need for improved diagnosis and treatment.

RESUMO

In recent years, a new two-dimensional carbon material, graphdiyne (GDY), has attracted extensive attention in the field of energy storage, due to its unique topological and electronic structures, high charge mobility, and excellent electron transport properties. However, the disappearance of the density of states near the Fermi level leads to a low quantum capacitance (CQ) of pristine GDY, which limits its application in supercapacitors. Here, we propose doping and metal atom adsorption to be efficient ways to increase the CQ of GDY. Based on first-principles density functional theory, the effects of doping B, N, P, and S atoms and adsorbing Au, Ag, Cu, Ti, and Al atoms on the CQ of GDY are systematically investigated. The results show that the CQ of GDY can be significantly improved by introducing doping/adsorption, which could be a potential cathode material and anode material for supercapacitors. Our work provides an effective way for GDY to be applied as an efficient electrode material for supercapacitors.

RESUMO

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the clinical and biochemical profiles of patients with imported malaria infection between 1 January 2011 and 30 April 2022 and admitted to the Fourth People's Hospital of Nanning. Methods: This cohort study enrolled 170 patients with conformed imported malaria infection. The clinical and biochemical profiles of these participants were analyzed with malaria parasite clearance, and signs and symptoms related to malaria disappearance were defined as the primary outcome. A multivariable logistic regression model was used to evaluate the odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for cerebral malaria. The Cox model was used to estimate the hazard ratios (HRs) with 95% CIs for parasite clearance. Results: Adenosine deaminase and parasitemia were found to be independent risk factors for severe malaria in patients with imported malaria (OR = 1.0088, 95% CI: 1.0010-1.0167, p = 0.0272 and OR = 2.0700, 95% CI: 1.2584-3.4050, p = 0.0042, respectively). A 0.5-standard deviation (SD) increase of variation for urea (HR = 0.6714, 95% CI: 0.4911-0.9180), a 0.5-SD increase of variation for creatinine (HR = 0.4566, 95% CI: 0.2762-0.7548), a 0.25-SD increase of variation for albumin (HR = 0.4947, 95% CI: 0.3197-0.7653), a 0.25-SD increase of variation for hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase (HR = 0.6129, 95% CI: 0.3995-0.9402), and a 1.0-SD increase of variation for ferritin (HR = 0.5887, 95% CI: 0.3799-0.9125) were associated with a higher risk for increased parasite clearance duration than a low-level change. Conclusions: Aspartate aminotransferase, urea, creatinine, albumin, hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase, and ferritin are useful biochemical indicators in routine clinical practice to evaluate prognosis for imported malaria.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: China, where half of the adult male population smoke tobacco, has one of the highest global burdens of smoking. Smoking rates are even higher among people with HIV. People with HIV can be affected by smoking in multiple ways, including more severe HIV-related symptoms and worse antiretroviral therapy treatment outcomes. However, smoking cessation services targeted for people with HIV are not routinely integrated into HIV care in China. Given the widespread mobile phone ownership, an exploration of factors related to smoking among people with HIV in China who smoke could inform the design and implementation of mobile smoking cessation interventions that target the needs of this vulnerable population. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to explore the perspectives of smoking, barriers and facilitators to quitting, and perceptions related to a smoking cessation intervention delivered through behavioral counseling sessions and brief daily messenger service (WeChat)-delivered messages. METHODS: We recruited people with HIV from the People's 4th Hospital of Nanning, Guangxi, China, and conducted semistructured face-to-face interviews. All interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed verbatim in Chinese, and translated into English for data analysis. We conducted a thematic analysis using a codebook, which was guided by a team-based consensus approach to identify 5 main themes. We also explored themes according to the demographic groups. RESULTS: A total of 24 participants were enrolled in the study. The mean age was 37.2 (SD=13.5) years. The participants had lived with HIV for a mean of 2.4 years. The majority were male (18/24, 75%) and lived in urban or metropolitan settings (19/24, 79%). We identified five main themes: variable knowledge of the harms of smoking, both related and unrelated to HIV; willpower perceived as the primary quitting strategy; a duality of the effect of social factors on quitting; perceptions about optimal features of the smoking cessation intervention (eg, messages should be brief and most frequent during the first few weeks); and the largely negative impact of their HIV diagnosis on smoking behaviors. In addition, some themes differed according to participant demographic characteristics such as age, sex, and education level. CONCLUSIONS: We identified barriers to and facilitators of smoking cessation among people with HIV in China by conducting semistructured qualitative interviews. Owing to the adverse impact of smoking on HIV outcomes, targeting cessation interventions to the unique needs and preferences of people with HIV in China may be needed to increase the effectiveness of future interventions. A pilot clinical trial will be conducted in the future to evaluate this behavioral counseling and brief daily messenger service (WeChat)-delivered messages approach among people with HIV who smoke in China.
