RESUMO

In experiments on rats with granuloma reproduced by subcutaneous implantation of foreign material there was shown a slowing of excretion from the organism as well as a considerable redistribution between the organs of fluorescein, hematoporphyrin and its derivative as compared with intact animals. The noted changes practically did not depend on the time of granuloma development.

RESUMO

The principles of surgical techniques of operations with the use of carbon dioxide laser were developed on basis of the authors' personal experience of 8 years in surgical interventions on 65 patients. The stages of the operative approach, cholecystectomy, choledochotomy, +choledocho-duodeno-anastomosis, papillosphincterotomy, and sterilization of the operative wound and intraabdominal abscesses are illustrated by professionally drawn illustration-diagrams. Laser separation of the gallbladder from the liver takes 220 +/- 35 sec, laser hemostasis and cholestasis of the gallbladder bed--245 +/- 40 sec, laser choledochotomy--17 +/- 8 sec, laser duodenotomy--33 +/- 9 sec. No specific complications were encountered after laser interventions.

RESUMO

The results of treatment of 245 patients with purulent diseases of the soft tissues are discussed. The course of the wound process was most favourable with the use of immobilized trypsin on gauze in the management of wounds formed after surgical debridement of purulent foci by means of CO2 laser. The method made it possible to accelerate the processes of necrolysis, provide a stable low level of dissemination of bacteria in the wound tissues, reduce the term of preparation of the wound for the application of secondary sutures and the terms of healing.

RESUMO

The article deals with the results of experimental research in determining the optimum parameters of laser radiation for surgical debridement of wounds and the techniques of its performance. It presents the results of treatment of 137 patients with incised wounds of various localization with the use of a carbon dioxide laser beam. Sterility of the wound surface was produced in 96-97% of cases after wound debridement with a laser beam; uncomplicated healing of wounds was noted in 90% of cases. It is concluded from the results of the research that debridement of wounds with the beam of carbon dioxide laser creates favourable conditions for early closure of the wound surface with sutures, prevents the development of serious purulent complications, shortens the terms of treatment, and produces a good functional and cosmetic results.

RESUMO

A technique of laser seromyotomy was developed as a method for vagus denervation for the treatment of gastroduodenal ulcers. Soviet Raduga neodymium YAG laser and foreign Medilaz and Flexilas units were employed as sources of laser irradiation. The operation was performed in the 'contact scalpel' mode with the use of Soviet sapphire tips. The developed technique permits seromyotomy that results in better hemostasis and lower risk of gastric submucosal layer involvement vs. electronomo suggested earlier by Taylor, an English surgeon. Twelve patients were operated on; one developed intraperitoneal hemorrhage that ceased independently.

RESUMO

The principle 'rehabilitation starts in a resuscitation ward' has been realized in the resuscitation treatment of 34 patients with the prolonged crush syndrome (PCS) who were injured during the earthquake in Armenia. Laser therapy has been fairly effective, normalizing the external respiration function and central hemodynamics and reducing the blood coagulability. Instrumental vibration massage and acupuncture are recommended to be added to rehabilitation treatment of PCS patients.

RESUMO

Results of treatment of 84 children with purulent and posttraumatic wounds with the help of CO2 laser are analyzed. The laser was used as a "surgical scalpel" and for necrectomy in suppurations. The focused and disfocused laser rays were used. The radiation was shown to exert a favorable effect on tissue regeneration and to accelerate the wound healing.
