RESUMO

Objective: To summarize the research progress of resorption of lumbar disc herniation (RLDH). Methods: The literature on RLDH at home and abroad in recent years was reviewed to summarize its influencing factors, pathogenesis, imaging findings, and predictive effect, as well as its influence on the treatment selection of lumbar disc herniation (LDH). Results: The main mechanism of RLDH is the combined effect of inflammatory response and neovascularization. Age, smoking, body mass index, and clinical manifestations are the influencing factors. Studies have shown that the annular enhancement around the nucleus pulposus on enhanced MRI images is the characteristic imaging manifestation of RLDH, which is a predictor of whether RLDH occurs. In the treatment of LDH, cyclooxygenase 2 inhibitors may have a negative impact on RLDH. Conclusion: The occurrence of RLDH suggests that strict conservative treatment is the first choice for LDH treatment, but surgery is still an important treatment method when the patient's symptoms and imaging symptoms don't significantly improved after conservative treatment.

RESUMO

This study investigated the effects of electro-dewatering on subsequent low-temperature drying at various potentials and the characteristics of low-temperature air-drying sludge were explored through experiments and multi-physical modeling. Experimental results showed that the extracellular polymeric substance (EPS) content in the sludge was reduced during electro-dewatering process, even the species of organic matter was changed, as well as the dewatered cake tend to form many seepage channels, crack and a certain number of holes. These changes in the properties and structure were conducive to the subsequent low-temperature drying process. For air-drying process, the mass of the sludge cake variation was simulated and results were consistent with the experimental phenomenon. Firstly, the weight of the sludge cake was decreased approximately linearly with time, then tended to stable and reached the dewatering limitation finally. The applied higher electric field intensity (25 V cm-1) in the front-end electro-dewatering were conducive to promote water vapor diffusion activity in air-drying stage. Energy consumption and yield analysis results indicated that the combined technology has lower energy consumption and higher yield than that of directly low-temperature drying.

RESUMO

In this study, the effects of electro-dewatering technology applied to high-salt industrial sludge dewatering performance were investigated, in terms of ions migrations and distributions by model simulation and layered tests. The simulation results of Na+ and K+ migrations were consistent with layered experiments during electro-dewatering, where Na+ ions migrated faster than K+ ions. More than 80% Na+ ions were removed by electromigration, which would be useful in subsequent sludge utilization. The mass specific energy consumption was reduced from 350.08 to 295.88 kWh per ton sludge by means of piecewise voltage electro-dewatering method. This study provided insights into the soluble ions migration and distribution mechanism in electro-dewatering process, and a method to improve commercial application performance of high-salt industrial sludge electro-dewatering.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Body temperature is an important indicator of health and illness. However, a single temperature measurement is not always reliable. Such measurements can be made using meridians, which are energy channels with acupoints being the nodes. To date, there is no published reference of meridian acupoint temperatures applicable to human health, and there is no clear digitalized indicator that could be utilized to evaluate human health by way of meridian acupoints up to now. METHODS: Our study recruited 100 healthy medical college students for the measurement of acupoint temperature. The temperatures of 135 acupoints of 14 main meridians were measured using infrared thermometers in order to provide a comprehensive body temperature reading of each study participant. RESULTS: The degree of the acupoint temperature consistently ranged from 34.88°C to 36.14°C. The gross thermograph was concentric, with high degree readings around the heart and low degree readings originating from the feet. The left and right body sides had significant correlation between the degrees of bilateral same name acupoint temperatures of 12 regular meridians (correlation coefficient, 0.367-0.985; p < 0.0001). There was also a significant correlation between the acupoint temperature for the governor vessel and the conception vessel (correlation coefficient, 0.083; p = 0.006). CONCLUSION: These findings indicate that meridian acupoint temperature is characterized by a consistently narrow range, as well as concentricity and symmetry in body temperature degree readings in college students. Meridian acupoint temperature may be a sensitive and valuable indicator to assist in the accurate evaluation of meridian and general human health, and the significance and changes of acupoint temperature in clinical conditions warrants future exploration.
